Man, going back and watching all of these. Really makes me realize that they had better action sequences, and stories, than a lot of the official media.

i find it hilariously ironic that Miles wrote the best RvB trilogy AND tanked RWBY after season 4. The other seasons of RvB are so frustratingly unfocused and stagnant. I love how Miles took these base characters and grew them organically, starting with Tucker in this season. Tucker's frustration with Church leaving and Wash's overbearing leadership style lead to a natural discussion between them where Wash tells Tucker that he's capable and that Wash trusts him. When Kimble reveals herself and says that the New Republic NEED a leader whos willing to step up and fight, with Washington's influence, Tucker understands that this is his moment to be one. Tucker will then have to deal with the burdens of command and the choices he now has to make, but he's able to take it in stride and become better because of that struggle. Grif and Simmons also grow into strongly capable soldiers under Tucker's command and the NR end up deeply respecting them, despite their oddities.
