Our vision is that the nation’s forests will become the most valuable places for wildlife to thrive and expand in England. So to help us achieve that, we’re establishing four new wild areas to restore fully-functioning ecosystems and support nature’s recovery. Letting nature take the lead, we’ll be ...

I pray non native species are not being grown. This should be illegal by now. We have all the evidence to prove they are destroying our eco system, and impacting the health of all of us.
what an awesome project!!
okay, but what is up with the loud no use music?
i was recently touching and admiring a tree down in victoria and didnt realise what it was until my friend said "thats the dino tree", lol.
Why did Australia send and sell the trees to UK? Why not the world? 😮 Come on.
Awe big Vern, miss you big fella
Evie is such a lovely lady.
A large pine of this species broke in a storm at Manuka park hawaii last month.
Excellent 👌 You guys deserve a standing salute 🫡
Just saw one today, Kent England
I saw a white tailed eagle between the villages of Aubourn and Bassingham in Lincolnshire in a field with its prey then it flew off as my car got nearer, although I did see it return to its prey in my rear view mirror. This was in May '24. I went on the RSPB website to report it, but amongst the questions they asked me to enter one included the coordinates of where it was spotted. I had no idea, I just know it was half way between the 2 villages (about 2 miles apart) so I gave up. I'd have thought the RSBP would have made it a lot simpler as the important thing is people being able to spot rare birds and report them without absolute precise details of its location. Coincidentally, my neighbour also saw a white tailed eagle soaring over his house in Aubourn in June this year and he didn't bother reporting it for the same reasons either. It was an amazing site though!
a dog with a camera on him and a light could also do it
Hello to this group of Wollemi appreciators. I'm a regular visitor to Trebah Gardens on the Helston Estuary, Cornwall UK, where I came across several naturalised Wollemi doing very well. They're warmed here by the Gulf Stream and protected from Atlantic gales by the deep valley in which the gardens are situated. It's a home to many botanical marvels and has a rich, rare collection of many indigenous plants - one of the most beautiful I know. I bought a Wollemi seedling at their nursery and brought it back to my garden in North London where it has been thriving for 12 years. It's now 3 metres tall and growing. I planted it in a deep brick-lined sump to contain its roots so it wouldn't take over the house and neighbourhood. It bears fruit every two years on a regular basis but the harvested seeds haven't germinated. Would one of the expert readers on this website kindly clarify if it's monoecious or dioecious? I would be pleased to post some photographs if I knew how to post them up. Good wishes to all and especially to those protecting the future.
Have they thought about planting them on Green Mountain on Ascension Island? 🤔
How can I grow in southern Brazil, we have Araucaria angustifolia here
Wonderful tree. I would love to have a copy in my Aboretum here in Germany. My great-grandfather and grandfather collected trees. There are now almost 50 different tree species on 70 hectares. A lot of them over 120 years old. Mainly conifers. I followed in their footsteps. I do this without any economic interest. Just to give trees a place to live. I can understand her passion very well. :) A never-ending project. I just can't stop.
What Godsend to cycling and the world. Good luck this weekend in Andorra.
Bravo! 👍
This is very exciting I look forward to seeing one in person.
I have tried to get one here to the United States. If anyone knows thank you!
2024?
Excellent and informative film, thank you for sharing this! I'm excited to learn that these trees will survive in the UK. Do you have any tips on selecting a suitable habitat for a Wollemi Pine in your own garden / property in the UK? I'd like to add one to my Mini Forest but I'm concerned about not planting it in the right place.
Hi Katia, the trees at our site are part of a collection of genetically diverse Wollemi pines planted by partners worldwide. Unfortunately, we cannot advise on commercial plants - Thank you.
She is very smart and cute.
White tail eagle took osprey chick today in Finland at nest 4# I understand it's a wild natural but don't like eagle anymore
Can these grow in Southwest Florida
breeding pair now in poole harbour
I was yesterday on Wendover Woods , and was amazing 👏 thanks guys for your efforts
Where would they survive in the US? I would foster as many as possible.
Where can I get those seeds?
Great stuff. But why does the first sentence refer to the UK, when Forestry England is only responsible for England? It seems doubtful that Forestry and Land Scotland would begin a similar video talking about the UK - they would talk about the area for which they are responsible, Scotland.
Very encouraging indeed - and exactly what we need our new Gov to support!
you would think someone involved in conservation would rely on actual science and not scientific rhetoric and echo chambers to base his statement on "man made climate change", but mind you...I guess funding from DEI sources would cease for conservation if that happened
Would have been good to see exactly where these 4 new areas are
❤
Kielder - where else? Ennerdale has been in a rewilding process for several years…. Don’t keep us in suspense
this sounds like a really exciting project but it would be helpful as a person living in one of those forests to have been advised in advance and been able to discuss possible impacts on our habitation. communication with forest dwellers has been non existent so far.
I hoped you'd indicate locations - where are these areas?
most people ( not me as my generation did acres and hectares at school,) have no idea what a hectare is
Please find a way to connect Burlands Lane via a cycle track to this project - such a great opportunity to avoid car use accessing this by foot or bike from Upper Poppleton!
Well done guys. Great work. Good to see Kevin too.
Great work
Can you consume the sap or the pine cones? If you could I'd buy to plant here.
Really good, quoted Lindsey derelictopotiki.blogspot.com/2024/07/convoy.html
Off all places there's a big plantation of them in England.
My wife will end me if I buy another tree. Where do I get one? 😁
❤
Thanks
There is one planted in the Zagreb Botanic Garden in Croatia . It is in a massive wire cage with lock and key . There is a plaque saying it is a birth day present for her husband . I assume it can cope with snow ?? Amazing to see this growing in Croatia !!!!
A gorgeous beautiful tree, loved the video, and am glad these trees are being looked after and cared for.
Thank you for your kind words and support! We're glad you enjoyed the video and share our love for these trees. They're truly special, and we're committed to their care. Have a wonderful day! 🌳
