why use a hose, the syringe tip should screw in.maybe some lock washers as well.

Look into electric fans. It saved me a little over a hundred bucks and you are supposed to get better mileage from them.

Looks like the seal on the back side was leaking.

You didn't solve the problem if you didn't replace the original seal which was likely the cause of the silicone leaking out in the first place. Also, now you've introduced possibly multiple failure points if you get vibrations on your belt drive causing issues for bearings and whatnot. Fan clutches aren't that expensive, especially if you are only replacing it once every 15+ years. No need to be frugal for something like this.

I do not trust 30 years old fan clutch spinning at 6000 rpm. If they fail they can destroy everything around them even your hood. I think its not worth the risk, just replace it and you will be fine for many years

Next time put some grease on the drill bit and tap to catch as much of the metal as possible, but even so you will have some metal shaving go into the unit. Did you get any vibrations now that you add two screws to plug the holes? Has the oil leaked out again?

It's only going to leak out again.

Too much fluid. Create more resistance and fan keep running all the time. Which make the fan draw a lot of air which make wind noise. This create drag on engine which lost power and fuel consumption

nice .. but I have to wonder if the seal that allowed the oil to leak out in the first place will also let the new oil leak out too

Where did the previous oil leak out of?

Many years ago Toyota use to sell small quantities of the correct oil just for this purpose. I bought some to do the fan clutch on my FJ55 but never did use it. I still have the fluid in my garage. I'll look for it and update this thread with the part no. Oh, I'd have greased that tap so that the swarf was held by the tap.

that Behr visco fan clutch can not refilled - I've done it on my BMW 318 - E36 is not working , the best thing to do is , I replace fan clutch with japan car fan clutch ( which can be refilled its silicon oil) , cheap and safe solution for me , that Behr price is reduced my wallet tickness :)

Once I had to buy a new ink cartridge for a Canon copier and it cost more than 100 euros including shipping costs! For the same price, you could have bought a completely new copier and printer, which you could get for less than 100 euros. However, they use their own small ink tanks which run out very quickly and printers started to come out with new models all the time and then color inkjet printers for less than what they cost for new inks and it was really difficult to find the right inks and colors when they only had the original replacement tank. Once I bought all the printer inks cheaply and they looked exactly the same from the top, but when I connected it to the machine, it didn't recognize the cheap inks...? I thought the printer was broken, but I still decided to try it with the original inks and the device worked really well. It's a shame that the original inks cost four times more than the cheap ink tanks... 😮

You should be banned from education videos. Why would anyone do it this way? Also....how do you know its still balanced well after just drilling holes wherever you feel lol. Also....you know there is only a certain amount of oil required in there....did you measure?

THAT thing is screwed for sure after tapping... all done, throw away.
