Theyre super easy to steer. If you have raced dinghy's they're like buses to drive.
Awesome!
How’s the friction ring attached to the trapeze adjuster cleat for the 1:1 system?
The one at the bottom of the clamcleat? It's tied on with a couple of loops of small kiteline dyneema.
@ cheers! Just got some 15mm thimbles to try this out

可以出一次49erFX船上的安装吗
This tour was actually done on a 49erFX. Depending on the conditions, the guys sailing this boat train in both the FX and full rig. The only blocks that might change between the two would be the ratchet blocks, for more or less grip on spinnaker sheets depending on personal preference.

Perfect!
Appricate the tour, will be using this over the winter....
No problem! Hopefully it's useful :)
Will never forget the feeling of going on an 18 footer as a wild teen and seeing the spinnaker pop after hoisting. Intimidating at that age but definitely gave a never ending love for 18 footers. Best sailing I believe to watch tho is 16ft skiff series in aus
The team here love watching the 16's and 18's series, It helps us get through the winter!
Dylan is a racist little prick about saying racist things about nz
That looked so fast! I remember one 18 footer (Nokia?) having just 2 up. Would have been a hairy ride.
Can't beat the old awesome aussie skiffs video of Nokia sending it downwind!
Prime computer was the two up 18. Julian Bethwaite was skipper.
Well won Ollie and Esther ⛵️🏆
That's a monster trophy Ollie & Esther! Hope you've got a room big enough to display it 🙂
Cheer~~~thread (a rope or rod) through a ring or other aperture, especially in a block.😊

You don't seem to know your knots, that's not a granny knot you're tying!
His granny taught him that knot...
So you are running the jibsheets all the way to the back of the boat on the downwind? Why that?
Keep all the crew weight at the back of the boat!
@@AllenBrothersfittingsLtd Do you keep them running thru the blocks at the traveller all the time and just take them of the winches downwind? Any cams there or is someone constantly trimming the jib?
@@SaKuLification They stay attached all of the time. Downwind someone trims the jib from the back of the boat from the downwind sheet which is a 1:1. Some boats use a 2:1.

Wow Great sharing my friend watching here from Boracay island Phillipines and I'm a Sailor also here i have a Sailing Boat 😊😊hope to see you in my video's😊😊
Thanks for watching!
Very envious. When I started sailing in 1971 I was in awe of the eighteens on Sydney Harbour but I have never been lucky enough to sail on one. Obviously different safety requirements in Europe as not a PFD in sight.
None of the sailors wear buoyancy aid's due to the chance of entrapment under the wings and sails etc. If you are unlucky enough to get caught underneath something you can then swim down and out to escape, rather than being forced up into the netting/ sails!
That looks way more fun than a Flying Scot.
Great first person video. Love it!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
👍💪
can i try next?
sure, why not!
Ha ha, this is now so outdated it is hilarious.

I am so excited about this.
Typical dinghy video. Wind noise and product pumping.

Polecasz ok dinghy?
I don’t know how I got here lol but what in the world is this for please - and great job from a fastening perspective
This is an example of how to attach a pulley to one of our mouting points using rope. In this specific application the pulley is being attached to a boom through which a rope will run to control the sail that is mounted on the boom.
Hi! Will be great if you can share how to rig the Allen Dog Bone in Dyneema as an eye splice as stopper for the sprit system. Thanks
We have a guide on how to use Dog Bones here - www.allenbrothers.co.uk/2022/01/13/how-to-use-sailing-dog-bones/
Yes, that’s nice but how do you install it to a boat that it is actually practical?
Thanks for the comment. You raise a valid point and maybe we should make an installation video.
looked amazing well done christian birrel on the bullet then what were you doin for the BfD LOL
What a beautiful boat. I used to love team racing in Merlins in my youth. My 2nd favourite racing dinghy after the Osprey.

Thanks for your support Allen, not only of my own sailing, but of the events like this which underpin the UK dinghy racing scene!

If you have any further questions. Just let us know!
Hey guys. Thanks for the material. Can this be used on a sail to make a Cunningham or reefing cringle a bit more attachable?. Do they come in those sizes? I don’t find that lines running through the sails cringles are friendly to use, especially on bigger boats. Additionally I have a thimble topic to look at and you guys sell what seems to be the best priced thimbles I have seen yet. I’m yet to order some to see what they are like but they look good from the images and spec. The thimble topic is this. Use thimbles as blocks. We have newish materials available so the friction and wearing out of the center line can be dramatically reduced. The suggestion is that a soft shackle holds the thimble but going through the center. Possibly with the little bit of line sheathing to protect it. The running line is then passed around the outside of the thimble. Because it’s on the outside, the friction loading is reduced dramatically compared to running it through the middle. Considering the price of your thimbles and the load these thimbles can take, this really could become a sailors go to block unless extra silky smooth running is needed.
No problem Frederick! We havent tried using the Pad-Tii on a sail. Firstly, you would need to make sure the Pad-Tii is nice and tight in the crinkle and then work out a way to stop it from coming undone, the flapping of a sail is likely to shake the Pad-Tii loose. (We recommend the Pad-Tii is held in place with a sealant or bonding agent when fixed to the hull of a boat.) Regarding High Load Thimbles, check out our guide to using them here - www.allenbrothers.co.uk/2021/11/18/high-load-thimbles-why-when-where/ High load thimbles are not a direct replacement for every block and pulley on the boat. Simply put, they are LOW friction rings and not NO friction rings. The way you suggest rigging the high load thimble does not nessercerly reduce friction. As there is more contact with the rope and the thimble surface. Feel free to contact us via email if you have any more questions :)
When you see the amount of work, investment in machinery and skills - the retail price seems extremely reasonable!!
🙌
Very cool
Thanks!
PLEASE NOTE - 30MM BLOCK HAS BEEN UPDATED TO AN A2030F. THIS BLOCK DOES NOT HAVE A BECKET, SO INSTEAD, TIE THROUGH THE MIDDLE HOLE OF THE BLOCK.
