Cummins Swapped K5 Blazer goes to Moab
Our trip to King of Hammers this year involved a stop in Moab, Utah for some exploring and wheeling. Had a great time and can't wait to go back.

Big 2 cylinder engine swapped old Cub Cadet 147
Переглядів 1 тис.4 роки тому
I had an old Cub cadet 147 with a junk engine sitting around and I decided to try and swap in this big 2 cylinder Wisconsin engine about 10 years ago. I got it running and driving and made a movie about it and soon took the engine off later and put on a log splitter. But it was fun for a minute
1949 International Cummins Sled Pull
Переглядів 3847 років тому
Decided to put my 1949 International KB6 in the local sled pull. Truck is 4wd with a 96 12 valve Cummins. NV4500 with Dana 80 rear and 60 front. The clutch didn't like the 37" tires and good track so it was slipping most of the way down the track.

very cool
We're so spoiled now. A 318 Detroit only was putting out 860 ft/lbs of torque and making things happen. The Volvo I drive has 455 hp and 1850 ft/lbs and is nowhere near as musical as this stroker. Even the 8V71T was rated at 350 hp and 1030 ft/lbs of torque.
Hello, I have 42 1 1/2 Ford truck, same color in Brazil, I notice some don't came with the stamp FORD on the hood side like you show.
Them old diesels are better than the new diesels!
Nice
Do you notice the extra weight up front off road? Does it change the centre of gravity or handling substantially?
Being lifted with the 5.9 and no sway bar it is for sure more tippy. I'm sure some better front springs and a sway would help substantially.
Love it
You think a 4bt would do ok in a K5 ?
Probably just fine. Turning up the power on it though would probably wouldn't hurt
For those of us that enjoy the wailing of the Detroit, would someone please do a video on the layout of the shift pattern. Gas powered cars usually go left to right, but it sure seems these old trucks go back to the left after some gear and you work your across the cab again. Is it the two speed rear end of the truck, or some magic hidden inside the transmission? An inquiring mind wants to know.
I think the GMC General came out for the 1978 model year Don't remember seeing any before that
UUAAUU ! ! ! também. gosto. de. carros. antigos. 👍👍👍👍🇧🇷
Nice ...
What size motor and is it a flat head 6 or 8?
It has the flathead six. 226 cubic inch
That sound never gets old
Do a vid on the build...did you strengthen the frame??...i have an 87 k10 needs motor
I added reinforcement to the steering gearbox area. Other than that, frame is stock.
@@chriswells991what's the junkyard lift?
I dunno, pulled it off of a parts blazer I bought. Has a block in the rear and unknown springs up front@@Rays_Bad_Decisions
I would love to learn more about this build ? 👀
I'll do a walk around on it soon!
I used to drive a k-100 cab over single axel Detroit 12 speed.1982. my ears are still ringing.
1946 !
Love the sound of the Detroits. Learned to drive in a 68 GMC 9500 long hood with a turned up 8-71 and 13 speed. First truck I drove for work was an International M series with a 6-71 and twin 4 speeds. Great old trucks.
Good job on the improvements. BTW, while this transmission is a 4-speed, it's not driven like a typical 4-speed. If you're not hauling a heavy load, there's no need to start from a dead-stop in 1st gear (actually compound low). That gear is designed for dead-stop starts when hauling a heavy payload. When empty, you simply treat 2nd gear as your normal first gear.
Very cool!
Absolutely gorgeous tractor and plow! Well done. What a nice setup. I pulled 5x16’s with my 1206 row crop. Most of the time it didn’t even know it was back there.

Ahh the General. First truck I ever learned to drive as a kid.
Is the motor for sale
All old trucks ride rough without a load.
انا مهتم بها جدا ❤️
لدي واحده في السعوديه شبه جديده ولكن يعرفون صيانتها ولا اطفئها عند التشغيل 😅
I am a man of few words but this is fantastic reminds me of west Tennessee
Nostalgia pura
Someone that knows how to drive these without grinding the gears
I'd rather have an original 1949 International KB6.
По звуку напоминает ПАЗ-3205

Excellent video. This truck sounds amazing and the fact that it has no re-gen, dpf filter, or def tank just shows that trucks ran perfectly fine for years without that crap being put on there. Keep on trucking brother.
Beautiful tractor and plow...I pull a 770 5/16 with a 1256...Great combo..
Good old 318 Detroit. Best engine ever at turning fuel into noise and smoke. Love it, nice to see a General working hard still.
I'd argue the idea that the 6-71 does just as good of a job of turning fuel to noise!!!!
Que buen manejo y dominio del camion con el detroit.....muy profesional, felicitaciones
yup typical chevy
I really miss the old Semi trucks on the road. Let me know when you want to SELL it if of course if you still own it... Sounds like you're doing 65-70 when you're only going 20 mph
A combat truck!
She pulls those 5/16’s pretty well!. Loved this vid.
I just got an electronic ignition kit for a "77 Z50 thats been sitting in my garage for 20 years. Should be a fun ride to the mailbox if I can get it to run
Nice rig!
That needs a driver badly..
Beautiful tractor. My neighbor had one that he bought new, a 1206 Wheatland. He traded it for a 1256 when they came out. I'm guessing this was 50 years ago?
My ears hurt already
Man that thing was top of the line silverado back in the day
Thank you Chris, enjoyed seeing this, I am from Darwin..
That tractor will make wives horny, fact
