Yoga Pro 9i 16 vs Macbook Pro 16 ? Could you suggest?
honestly never used a macbook before so i cant really tell you if your used to windows than the yoga but if your apple person than the apple
@@arnulforamirez4836 Why did you say IPS is better than Mini Led? I don't get it, please explain.
battery drain is crazy 5% for 25 mins
yes it is and that was best battery effiency i took it back due to that issue and it is a nice powerful laptop thou subscribe to my channel am about to do a review on the new samsung snap dragon x elite 16 and lets just its snappy and very good battery life
So you wouldn't recommend this for music production?
@@allworksnew i recommend it its just the battery life drains quit fast if your away from an outlet or forget your charger then youll be in trouble
Did you end up testing the battery life at the optimal settings for general tasks like web browsing and youtube? Im curious to know how the i7 model compares to the i9 model.
For a month I have been researching this model. Yours is the most effective review yet. This answered many of my unanswered questions. Thanks
You welcome thanks for watching
Can you provide information on how you updated your display?
did you customize it while buying it
No
@@arnulforamirez4836how much did you paid for it’s almost 2000 dollsr so out of my budget 😢
I really don't know why this model is so expensive here in the Netherlands, almost €2600 for a RTX 4070, while the model does not have Mini-LED or OLED. Why is it more expensive then most other laptops, even some models have a 4080 for that kind of money.
I dnt know it is you can get the g16 for that price with oled and better speakers
The 7i model from CES has a 'Right ctrl' key instead of 'copilot' key. Did they change ot or is it region specific?
2024 has copilot key
Fan noise is good ?
It's jn balanced mode but noticing it still gets a lil warm not as warm as last years
great review imo its what the consumer needs to see them small details and that genuine not planned no script no ad nothing full customer experience I would just recommend to invest in a camera and a gimble to elevate the quality of your content a zve10 would be perfect with 28mm lens or sth
thanks for watching and thanks for the advice am looking into getting better equiment
how is the power consumption in iGPU mode? does it have the DGPU did not disconnect and still consume power without showing ( gen 8 have this issue and never got fix, the only solution is to switch between iGPU > Hybrid mode > iGPU mode again, wait a little bit and power consumption drop another 6-10W)? Thanks
it does alright not if you adjust the settings and and use the intergrated graphics it says it supports gsync never saw the setting for it in nvidia control panel
@@arnulforamirez4836 Hi, The settings are in Vantage or Lenovo Legion Toolkit (LLT), you will be able to change the GPU Working Mode. In the Legion 7i Gen 8, when set the laptop to iGPU only mode, the system unable to disable the Nvidia GPU and continue to consume power like 10W without showing. When you first turn on the laptop in iGPU mode, after awhile, the power consumption is hovering around 25-30W (set display to 60hz, turn off led in keyboard, dim display brightness to 50%, turn on battery saver in Windows). This indicate that the laptop have the same issue as Slim 7i Gen 8. Basically, every hour, the laptop consumes 10W more for nothing and reduce the battery on time. Lenovo never fix this issue that it can be very annoying every time I use the laptop. it supposed to consume around 14-18W on battery in iGPU mode, so around 5-6 hours battery life.

7:35 The top part does not completely cover the bottom part, is it a defect, because i did not see this in other reviews...
hello and thanks for watching yes the top doesnt cover the complete bottom no its not a defect it was made like that yes that caught my attention as well it does look off but in reallity the screen is big and i see they needed the support the screen to body ratio is 94% but its not bad i will go over that in my next video since you brought that to my attenton thanks
you asked about the thermals so far in balanced mode its been cool to the touch not like last years model where just idleing it would get warm to the touch i will be testing more today and post my review may go live for the first time not sure yet but so far it stays cool i played some games on yesterday in balanced mode i didnt run pretty cool so i will push it harder today it does get warm when entering the bios for some reason i guess because thats main processing
@@arnulforamirez4836 man, not much upgrades compared to last year, but atleast Lenovo can make it perfect. Do you think I should get this or wait for next year?
@@arnulforamirez4836 Replying to thermals comment: I see, if possible, try rendering something at high resolution in Blender. Oh, also about the RGB: Is there a mode where when you press a key, the RGB lights up? Like the lights should light up whenever you press any key.
@luminvade yes it does fn key for special short cuts and space bar for the rgb
OOh yes! glad to see this! I saw as you said it the website hasn't been updated and it only shows the black one. Thanks for getting the white. So did order it before hand or was it just sitting there in the store?
thanks for watching glad i am to bring the good content they only had 2 in stock so i went for it so far so good liking the white even thou i didnt think i would feels smooth just so nice be doing a one week review so keep an eye out for that and hopefully have updated it to 32gb
@@arnulforamirez4836 Nice will do, I hope the battery last decently long
Really good review. Subscribed.
Thanks
Good job bro but how is the battery life with you right now after using the laptop long time ago , because most of the reviews show bad battery life 😢❤
the battery has been verry good last at least 10 hours or a lil more depending on what am doing i charge it once a day and it last till the next day doing basic stuff if gaming surpriseingly i does doesnt drain that fast i have display at 50 percent and still bright and dynamic refresh rate i did try it at just 120hz i didnt do to bad either other then that its been good havent found another laptop for 2024 with specs like this besides gaming laptops this one basiclly does it all just with a 4050 which handles gaming well on this even in balanced mode let know if i can help you determine what ypur looking for
@@arnulforamirez4836 Thank you bro I appreciate your response ,well I want to use the laptop for programming and I will use it outside more that's why I'm just worried about the battery life and if there is any problem with the laptop let me know please because I want to buy one ♥️
@@arnulforamirez4836 thank you bro I appreciate your response , Actually I just want the laptop for programming and play game sometimes and I want to try the 360 mode I hope it's useful because it's touch screen but I'm just worried about the battery life because I saw some reviews they said the battery life not good like other laptop . If there is any problem with the laptop please let me know bro because I want to buy one .♥️
@@arnulforamirez4836 I wrote 2 time but I still can't see my comment 😅, You can see it bro ?
Thanks for the comprehensive review. BTW, I really love jazz and that "elevator music" you played sounded great. It's an excellent way to hear the fidelity of music.
thanks its been pretty good no issues
How are the ergonomics with the raised keyboard after a few hours? It looks like a gimmick and actually more stressing for the wrist :/ Apart from that the zenbook looks amazing
There not bad it's like typing g with a desktop keyboard raised I like typing on it just depends on a the person
Thanks for this review (long time i was searching for this exact comparison on youtube vids). Exactly like you, I've been more than hesitant for a while between these 2 (as their both amazing). Ended up getting the Asus (mostly for the durability of the build I guess), but in any case hard to tell which one is best. I think either way it can't go wrong ;)
honestly i got my asus still and sending my lenovo back due to the battey and the asus still last longer on a charge even thou it has 13900h rtx407 0 it still out beats the slim pro 9i 16 in battery if yu got the new asus its still 6000mhz and the lenovo doesnt support pen i do like the lenovo but the battery kills it and am use to oled am thinking of getting the proart studio book the new model 13980hx rtx 4060
Slim 7i or strix g16 is better?
to be honest i havent tested the asus strix g16 but brands are good but display wise you definitely get a way better color accuracy from the asus the slim 7i has a good display just not as color accurate
@@arnulforamirez4836 thank you
Good stuff! How does the fan noise and thermal performance compare on these two? Also, is there enough of a difference in build quality to where you would say it would impact long-term durability (I'm talking 4 years +)?
thermals are good on both they get a lil warm but not anything to complain aboiut or to be concerned about fan noise is not noticeable unless to game or doing heavy task even then there not super loud the asus has egornomic keyboard which raise when opening up the screen which helps with airflow so no jet plane noise there both durable the pro 9i does have screen flex but the asus is solid no flex and the asus is honestly bulit way more durable and you can tell once in your hand but both are right on par love them both but for some reason i love the lenovo and but the asus come with a mux switch and the lenovo doesnt but overall there both great you cant go wrong with either one
In your opinion, slim pro 9i or legion slim 7i?
there both good laptops and both pros and cons the slilm pro 9i 16 is a really good laptop with a fast cpu at 6400mhz the bad thing only about that is the 75 watt hour battery i got j6 to 7 hours out of it which isnt bad. but the legion slim 7i has a 99.99 watt hour battery which if you set the settings right you get about 10 hours not gaming just doing normal productivity another thing is thAT IT DOES get warm to the touch not bad thou unless your gaming. and pro i9 doesnt get hot at all has good thermal control
@@arnulforamirez4836 thank you soo much for your feedback :)
@@itsusman2015 no problem
how i can able the RGB always on in my keyboard? also how can i trun off the asus pen 2.0?
in the asus app where it says execlusives the pen turns its self when not detected
Hey! Thank you for the unbiased review. It's great that you can get up to 6 hours of battery on the Slim pro 9 model. I was worried that it would only last up to 2 hours. If I'm planning to use it for Chrome browsing, do you think I'll also get around 5-6 hours?
i think you will just calibrate the battery make sure you update everything drivers and apps i also left mone in battery saver mode ran fine and fast charge it all the way and let it get 2% and charge it and extra hour without using so total of 2 to 3 hours to calibrate
Good video! I read you had to return it due to overheating battery? Any updates on that, did you get a new unit? I’m torn between this exact model or the amd slim 7 (R7 7840HS/4060), do you think it’s worth the upgrade to the i9? I’m a casual gamer, I don’t need the ultra graphics but it’s nice to have a machine that doesn’t get outdated in a couple of years. At the same time I prefer a cooler laptop, and I’ve read a higher end cpu might make it run hotter, because it draws more power…? Any advice? I don’t mind the price difference, it’s just that I’m not sure if it’s worth the extra power sacrificing battery and temp (amd will probably perform better on those two aspects)
yes i loved the time i had it yes the battery overheated but lenovo said it was proably a bad unit which i understand evrything isnt bulit perfect but i would purchase again honestly its all aluminum its a nice computer and for the price you get alot for the money and some of these expensive laptops cant match that its all how good it cools and yes its a gaming laptop it well get hot doing heavy task but not that bad hardly had the fans kick on even while gaming the battery life is great too i would go for it
Please just get a tripod or something
Wanna purchase one for my channel
fix your thumbnail
Just curious, why is a close up of your arm the thumbnail?
I don't know it was just a scab I had
Serious Scabs in your video...Thumbnail...GROSS Dude Change It .....Please It's Just Nasty Lookin...For Real !!
How’s the battery life? And is it a better choice over 15” MBA
Battery life is really good last all day and no issues what so ever if you want sturd all around computer this us one to go with
is it comfortable to carry around or it's too heavy to carry around?
No it comes with a very nice backpack
"promo sm" 😒
sorry no promo i purchased this from walmart this is a nice laptop
How is the fan noise while gaming? Also, do you notice any PWM at lower brightness
Fans were actually pretty quite and no pwm always had mine always set at 60 percent
what is that thumbnail
it is scab from a cut i had i dont know they did that
Just wanna let you know the image of your video is the cut on your hand. Otherwise great video!
How's the performance, and how long does the battery last? I'm planning to buy the same model
It was good until I had to return it due battery overheating well just web browsing and you tube
Do you like it more than the Lenovo Legion Slim 7 Gen 8? You returned it?
honestly yes i like the asus more better has better build quality for the money better display runs just as fast for being a 12700h and rtx 3060 i can still play my favorite games its a better bang for your money. i loved my lkegion gen8 but when i had the battery start overheating just doing you tube and web browsing that was a big let down. and this asus i was playing gears 5 in 4k and it ran smooth my ftriend saw this one and hes a gamer he said ma n thats nice and plays well
and has still gets about 9 hours of battery or more not 5hours
It's not too bad but is a nice thing is that mine cane with a nice back pack and my loving computer worth the money I got mine off walmart website it was 1449 hopefully you catch the same deal well worth it
Great unboxing and first impressions. Very nice-looking laptop. I recently got a Strix Scar 16 and I agree with what you said about the display. 16-inch screens are just awesome. They don't make the laptop size too big, because it's about as big as a 15-inch laptop, but the screen itself feels closer to a 17-inch laptop than a 15-inch laptop. Just awesome to do work on and game on.
how do you like scar 16 was thinking of getting that one hows battery life does yours have yhe num pad on the touch pad
@@arnulforamirez4836 I absolutely love the thing to death. Normally when I use a gaming laptop, I feel like I'm missing out on features and performance compared to using a desktop, but with the Scar 16, I don't miss using a desktop at all. Yes, mine does have the number pad built in to the laptop. I think that all the Scar 16 models have it, while the G16 models don't. My favorite part of the laptop has to be the mini-led screen, it gets so damn bright and the contrast is unreal. The performance of the 4080 definitely justifies the 240hz refresh rate at 1440p as well. It just feels like an overall excellent package, although expensive at around 2900 USD. My only gripe about the screen is the noticeable black crush. Battery life isn't amazing, lasts around 4-5 hours on a full charge. Enough to get me through one day of college classes, but just barely. I don't really mind though, since everything else in the laptop makes up for it.
if prefer aluminium case, definitely perfer YOGA series, for performace, buy pro 7i, slim series kind of fit in the middle
Yoga is bottom line, they come with 32GB RAM maximum (64GB model is not acceptable price point and there is no AMD version with 64GB). Yoga Slim 7 is hard to order, local dealers don't have it. Legion Slim 7 can be expanded to 48GB RAM and for me it's higher tier, because the 7945HX in Pro 7 is power hungry even when idling ( it has 3 CCD's inside that can not turn off when not in use, it burns 15-30W with 0 load).
how much battery life you get on this one? trying to decide on legion 7i pro and 7i slim
13th gen intel gaming laptops don't have gret battery life, not too terrible either. You should be looking at around 5-6 hours of battery life. If you want better battery life, I recommend that you either wait or buy something last gen with better battery life.
@@niko1even so i would be better off getting the legion 7i 7gen with 3080ti?
How are the fans running , while surfing or office ? Are they completely off ? Or do they run all the time?
What kind of thumbnail is that? And you really need a tripod for your camera because it is really frustrating seeing the camera moving so much for no reason, i personnally wanted to see the whole thing from one clear angle.
You really need to improve your camera work, get a hand gimble or a Tripod because that's the only thing that made this video bad.
Bad thumbnail
Maybe fix the thumbnail?
Hahaha, this video was really nice to watch. The laptop looks great, it started to sound like a hurricane right at the end. How is it doing noise wise? Thanks for taking the time to make the video
Fans aren't bad they kicked on with me setup even gaming they do well
wtf is that thumbnail eeeewww
Looks like the thumbnail of this video has chosen an unfortunate mark on your skin or something.. Might wanna change that..
Jupp, same for me 2 months later :/
What’s your Time Spy graphics score on Performance?
good job 👍 but improve the camera stability with pov and add montage
