This whole wait to suspense tactic wore off years ago, I'm getting annoyed. HOWEVER expectations are still climbing, they're setting up the game to be a failure, psychologically.

So i suck at souls games. Only reason i got this game was coop mod and im glad i did my god this game is beautiful hard maddning and insanely rewarding. Best with friends but i venture solo a bit more now and love it.

I've noticed a kind of pattern, where people usually answer this question with the first soulsborn game they've played. My first was Dark Souls 2, and I love every bit of it. The atmosphere is great. Every time I come back to Majula, it just feels like home. Buuuuuut, a lot of people don't like it because of the design of some places, weird hitboxes, and other stuff, which is understandable, after all, the game was released before it got fully finished.

DS3. My favorite game of all time. Great bosses, great atmosphere and the Death of Fire is the perfect conclusion to the cyclic dark souls storyline. The DLC slapped too tho ashes of ariandel was a little small.

Souls game? Not sure. Soulsborne game? Sekiro. It may be small and the easiest one, but it's by far the most satisfying to get right.

Bloodbourne has a great atmosphere so it has to be 1st place, elden ring second

Worse than that it’ll just be a meh game

My expectations aren't too high. They already botched the Fallout franchise since nr 4 and the removal of stats (strength, stamina etc) in Skyrim was the dumbest most unpractical idea ever. It did nothing but dumb the game down and I think there's no justifiable excuse to have no headshot or limb-damage in a hack n slash that was released 11/11/11... To me, Bethesda became another money grabbing greedy corporation like EA, Blizzard etc. My expectations of nr 6 is zero/will never come. Just like Steam only cares about money and don't even bother finishing the Half Life franchise before everyone that ever played it as a kid had kids themselves.

Skyrim is probably my favourite game of all time, but I don't believe Bethesda will hold up to any expectations.

Why waiting for it? Modded Skyrim is already Elder Scrolls 8 or 9 or so.

I don’t think it will be either. Unless they totally screw it up which is unlikely, people will love it and think it lives up to the hype for a month or so until the hype wears off and the issues start becoming more apparent. In the end it’ll be remembered as another okay game that people just seem to love, like Skyrim is. Hell, I *still* play Skyrim without even feeling the need to use mods but I can readily admit the game has a tonne of flaws… and I’m not talking about technical or graphical limitations. The easily fixed bugs, a lot of questionable mechanics, the scaling issue, the admittedly shit quest lines? It is a lacking game, but I love it all the same.

i think everybody needs to shut the fuck up about this teaser. toddy boy said back then that they were „collecting ideas“ so in non corpo speak they hadnt done jack shit. and they first would finish starfield, if fallout 4 and skyrim are the norm there will be at least another year of dlc for starfield before tes 6 starts pre production. the only reason that teaser exists is because fallout online was dogshit and they needed to make different news.

I want to be hopeful, but given all the evidence ...nah. I don't even think I will buy it.

It's going to be another reskinned Skyrim. Maybe with fewer funny easter eggs too.
