artists are calling for the death of parasocial relationships

When did being a fan of someone become a competition on who can monitor and find out the most about them instead of just appreciating the art? When in fans become so entitled, invasive and rude? Isn't the art enough? In today's video I share my thoughts on what is means to be an ar...

Watching it on the 1st of January and love love love it! Also, just checked a local museum is open today and going there right after finishing this video, thanks for the inspo (and thoughts for the future) ❤
Thank you for this kind comment, I hope you have an amazing time at the museum xx
I feel like the word shouldn’t be narcissistic but conceited, egoistic and selfish
I agree, although I think narcissism is a spectrum (not always extreme). But yeah, an overall self-centredness that doesn’t leave space for others or their feelings
I really like your videos!
Thank you, so glad you enjoyed 💛💛
You wanna know what things I find chic and that no one asked for?? This video! Love the way you presented this and how random the things you find chic are. Now gap teeffff?? I'm so happy you mentioned it, I've a tiny lil gap between my teeth and I've been thinking about making it more visible. I love it so much on others.

Loved! Been away from UA-cam for the last two weeks and loved bingeing your vids. The blue hijab, jumper, nails are so pretty M’A. Looking forward to next weeks video
Thank you the comment, you are too kind xx ima keep the vids coming in sha Allah 💛
Fab video as always! Keep them coming sis! First point about literature and luxury, I saw a tiktok where a guy was predicting that over time, the time spent online will be reflective of class and wealth (chronically online = working class hardly online = upper class etc) and boy did it scare me!
Thank you lovely ! && yes I definitely think there is a shift coming ( if it hasn’t started already ) I wonder how popular culture is going to lean into it though…
Loved the vlog bestie! Super interesting topic of discussion. We live in our heads so much it’s so peaceful to just live in the world outside of ourselves.
Thanks for the love sis 💛 and absolutely sometimes you just need a day out living life !
I definitely relate to wanting to decenter! It’s hard to put my finger on but I think those concepts you mentioned like “main character”, “it girl” etc do have a dark side to them. I want to be a more selfless and considerate person.
I think they start off with good intentions, but like many things on the internet become slightly toxic. Yeah I think sometimes we need a break from ourselves tbh 😂😂😂 I know I do x
I know we said take the podcast mics away from everyone but you’re the exception!
How do I get this comment framed ? 😂😂😂 Thank you for this sis xxx
love to have stumbled on this video <3 was looking for videos like this to keep myself updated with what's happening on the internet and ended up feeling super connected with the topics you brought. i deactivated my instagram 20 days ago and deleted my tiktok app, and its being awesome. when you brought the article about slowing down i remembered that here in brazil we had a discussion on twitter recently about a super youtube creator that "disappeared" from social media about 4 years ago and a famous podcaster just launched some eps looking for her. the thing is that they found her, she accepted to be interviewed and basically she's living on kind of a rural area here and she said that she's focusing her life on everyday activities, like washing clothes on the river for example. there was a whole discussion on twitter about her "romanticizing poverty" and even though i think that only a person that have lived her whole life being privileged can find it cool not having a washing machine and work your a** off on simple things like this, i have also been thinking that she may have a point... i feel like social media makes life feel like you're only living when you're doing something that can be shown, like eating something nice, going to a party or whatever. i live alone and sometimes a great part of my day is doing domestic activities like cleaning my space, cooking for the week... this is a HUGE part of my life as someone that like my place well organized. and being disconnected made me realize that this is ALSO life happening for me. those moments where it seems that nothing is happening... well... this is also life. spending half of my sunday organizing my home is also life. there's nothing wrong with that fact that sometimes i spend ours cooking or washing clothes. this is life. and for the past years most of the times i feel like those moments are a waste of the time where i could be actually living. i wrote to much, probably with a lot of grammatical mistakes, but it was such a good coincidence watching your video that i felt like sharing whats was going through my mind also <3 (if you want to look on the youtuber story, her name is jout jout and the podcast is called "a vida fora da internet" which means "the life outside of the internet" - one of my favorite things about this story is that she said that she disappeared because she suddenly felt like she had nothing else to say to the internet)
OMGG you are all the way from Brazil heeeeeeey! This is so interesting especially the part about enjoying slow living. I recently saw a tiktok that discussed how convenience sometimes takes away from the dopamine hits that we would usually get throughout the day - little things like cleaning up can be a chore, but make us feel accomplished when we’re done. I am definitely going to check that podcast out. Btw, your English is great (from a former English teacher x) thank you for the comment 💛
This was such a lovely reminder of why we need art, it takes us outside of ourselves so that we can connect with each other. Also really loved reading 7 days in June, hope you like it!
I totally agree and with thing getting more digital (the stronger presence ai will play in our lives) we’re going to NEED art. I’ve been enjoying reading it so far 💕💕
Subscribed ❤ I love this list 🫶
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed 💛💛
love thissss!! subscribed! 💕
Thank you lovely 💛💛💛
i absolutely adore this video. this is something im reckoning with myself and seeing it in video form is so so cool. sending you sm love 💌
Thank you for your comment. I really appreciate it, sending love your way too 💕
I think it’s so chic when people mix metals and wear both silver and gold jewelry at the same time. I go through phases where I wear one or the other but it takes a lot of confidence to wear both at the same time I think
I’ve always thought silver to clash with my skin tone, but I’m experimenting with mixed metals also 👌🏾
I just started doing this because I was forced into it because my job sent us oura rings but we were only allowed to get the silver one so then I was like on I can’t just have one silver piece on all the time and now I actually love wearing both metals.
these videos are always so interesting i love themm!
Thank you, I really enjoy making them so happy you enjoy !
I would highly recommend reading diaries of people. It decenters you in the ways you expressed you wanted to experience that. There is something so anchoring in reading someone else from ages ago go through the same motions of life. Super enjoyed this video and it gave me something to think about. Tyyy xxxx ❤
Thank you for this comment. I will definitely look into it. I appreciate your kind words 💛💛
When the music came in on the shot in the train, it created a feeling of connection because I have always looked at people's shoes, especially on the train. Great music choice for this scene as well. I'm glad I found this video :)
Thank you for this! I’m really trying to get better at editing. Glad you enjoyed it💕
I just discovered your channel and now there's already a new video haha well done
😂😂 I’m trying
Where is your shirt from? Love it
Hey sis, got it from mango outlet x
I love this kind of content and I guess that's why UA-cam recommended me this video! I've subscribed because as another young Muslim girl I love to see authentic and genuinely 'made with love/ passion' video topics. I love when you speak about looking at people's shoes making a commute less boring, 100% gonna try that on my uni commute cos otherwise I'm just blasting music and scrolling for two hours a day which is probably not great mentally haha. Anyway I can't wait to see more of your videos <3
Thank you so much for this lovely comment. It’s nice to know people share the same sentiment. Thanks for the support 💛💛💛
read essays instead of self help books! or memoirs! i think those give you more insight and value than self help books
I have been trying, found some great essays on substack which I have been enjoying. Will defo give some memoirs a try, thank you 💛
yay new video!!
I appreciate your support!!!
Preach my girl, preach!
Glad to know I'm not the only one that feels this way !
I love this concept !
Thank you! I really appreciate it 💛
you should add the links to these in the description box
I always mean to do this but forget. I have added all the links to the description x
Fun is infinite Sega enterprises yours truly majin
Love your commentary always✨
Thank you sis xxx💕
Lurv the scarf! It really looks like poncho so super cute MashaAllah💗
