I've finally uploaded a video after so long (yikes)! So I've decided to reload this channel to document my time abroad. We'll see how much I can actually share because life is actually different out here. In the meantime keep praying for my storage because my phone is still an enemy of progress. I JUST RECEIVED MY IB RESULTS and its pretty crazy.... YES, these two years have been a life-changing experience, but ALSO the BIGGEST EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER EVER!!!!! AND YES, AFTER completing the two-year program, I still struggle to pronounce (and spell) Baccalaureate. Feel free to share your IB experiences as well. Yall must have had some greens from someone who cant cook. Cant eat anybody greens. Also the meat ia usually smoked turkey tails or ham hocks
If you're making that face with Collard Greens they didn't make it right. Lol. Not everyone can cook Soul Food.
Girl throw some sugar on them collards and dig in! And Get some of the broth with each bite
A chain restaurant is not a good place to try Soul Food. Go to the hood or get American friends who are from the deep South (Mississippi, Louisiana, or Texas) from the country and have relative that can cook so good it will make you shout OMG!!! That particular restaurant is not true Soul Food. Y'all need to try again somewhere else.
Go to someone’s house for greens! Restaurants cannot take the time to do it right … maybe a bbq restaurant. Cuz those may be cannes

Y’all must go to the south! No other part of America does Soul Food like the people in the south. And Louisiana with the Creole & Cajun food
Louisiana has great soul food. However I was shocked collard greens was not on a lot of the menus in Louisiana and the one place we went to with collard greens on the menu it was nasty.
@@calionetime Creole and Cajun food are in the forefront of the city. The best’s places are in the little “hole in the wall/ mom and pops” restaurants, off the beaten path.

Im almost at the end of my IB1 year. Not fun at all. Im doing pretty well but Spanish I might get a 3 xD. Wish I could be u rn :(
To be honest soul food is basically 80% of southern food anyway black people cooking food for everybody back then LOL

Hey, it’s quite pricey. Sharing an apartment usually works out cheaper. Living on campus is good too but the meal plans are not worth the money. Part time jobs are available on campus too 😊

I attended as an exchange student so my application process was a little different. When I did apply I mentioned the specific courses that I wanted to take (how it would help me reach my career goals) and why Long Beach was a great fit for me (college, location etc).
Yall need to go to someone's house or look around for a grungy looking mom and pop place. Even soul food can be bad if done improperly. Especially greens

This is NOT soul food it's creole/Cajun food. Where is the collard greens, fried chicken, potato salad, mac and cheese, cornbread. banana pudding or peach cobbler maybe even sweet potato pie.
She literally showed the food obviously collard greens & it is soul food but it’s not in the South so of course it won’t hit the same. U need to google Louisiana food because that was Not it.

So many variations of soul food. Hole in the wall places are the best.
Next time you go I recommend the cornbread the beans and the greens go all in one bite Also hot sauce will give you the spiciness you want

I’m Creole my soulfood is totally different I wish y’all could taste it. The Louisiana Creole part of the US is only about a one hour radius. Cajun is Caucasian people lol 😂 Even Black people from the US don’t know that tho
No! Cajun white people had black people as slaves too in Louisiana and they cooked and invented the so called Cajun food dishes. Facts!
People in the US do know cajuns are white. They are from Canada.
