Thanks😂
Just the knob is missing on mines
Great video! Thanks for posting.
Mouch was that fireman on Chicago Fire. You better put down mulch instead.
You are funny.
@@DIYPlumbingGuy 😀
Since you went with the glue pvc why not use the sch.40 pvc swivel trap instead of the Harry home owner trap
Great point!
Nice job on this install ; it's amazing how many real plumbers can't even do this. They want to switch the copper to CPVC and glue it.
Thank you! Worked like a charm. The existing washer was split in two. Saved me time and money. Great retro bathroom btw, looks in pristine condition. Wouldn't dare change that. Thanks again!
Awesome! I’m glad it worked for you!
Nice, clear instructions... thanks! We're about to close on a home. The kitchen sink drain doesn't line up with the existing P-trap, so a previous homeowner connected the two with a flexible drain so long that it created a second trap bend. My home inspector pointed this out. It's an easy DIY fix.
Thanks! That's a common issue. Glad to help.
Get a kit with a metal stem if possible
For sure! Those are much much better
I'm not a hater but... LOL You need to carve back your plaster of paris idea and make sure you caulk over it otherwise that stuff is going to soak up your piss like a sponge and your wife's gonna wonder why it always smells like pee in the bathroom.
I'm not a huge fan of this either... I just wanted to share some knowledge. Thanks for watching.
Welcome back 🙌
Let’s go!
It would be nice to have a video on installing a block/seal on cut off valves. This would be good to know, when remodeling or painting bathroom. ✌️😎👍
Break loose
Excellent video.
Thank you very much!
Nice work🎉🎉🎉
We have to shut off the water to the house first though right?
My shut off valves are still working, but I needed to replace the faucet. Should I not do anything and just replace the faucet, or, since everything has been taken apart, go ahead and replace the stem anyway? We’ve lived in the house for 25 years, but the house is even older.
Looks good to me!!!
Thank you! This made the repair so simple!
Thanks big papi
You didnt use any primer before the actual cement. If an inspector came to a job site they would fail you for that. We'll apparently I'm wrong on this one as the Yellow is a one step glue. 1000 apologies.
No shit I was trying to turn it like a regular valve. Didn't know it operated by pushing and pulling. Thanks for the education.
Plumbers install sweated valves to make sure they have return customers. Instead of putting in a compression valve, that any DYI can do, they want to take you for your money.
Its a Good Explanation?/Thank You?
Couldn't get the first method to work but removing the screw got the top off enough to clean it. I couldn't get it screwed back into place right, but the stopper seems to still work anyway by just placing it. I notice you edited out removing the trunk of the stopper. Should that come right out or did you use tools? It won't budge on ours. Edit: I see in another comment that someone else had the same problem and had to use pliers. I'll give that a try.
3:33 the mini hacksaw worked wonders to get rid of that pesky rusted bolt! I wouldn’t recommend a sawzall because it is too clumsy for a delicate job like this.
if that's the case then why does the HOA have these installed in townhomes if they are a property damage threat ?
Thank you so very much, I did it and it works great
You Sir, are my plumbing angel. My project started with replacing the wax seal and I just kept going. I replaced all the inners and water supply line. I had a heck of a time removing the rusted bolts, but thanks to you, I got them. Thank you, you're a great teacher. I'm in my late 60's and widowed and if I can do this, anyone can.....with your help. Blessings!!!
worked wonderfully. was able to pop it out within a minute using 1st method. thanks
Hopefully I can receive some response. My Push-Pull valve itself isn't leaking, but it seems the metal connection to the plastic pipe is leaking. How does the plastic tube connect to the valve? Is it just a thread? I'm worried about rotating it in any direction as I don't know how its actually attached. Thank you in advance.
TY so much this is the only video that worked for me.
It worked putting the thing halfway up. Your awesome!
Tysm I’ve just been dumping drano in there from time to time trying to put it off 😭
thank you for explaining about the main shut off. other videos were confusing but this was best. merry xmas.
This was very good, but would this work well on cast iron? How would you prevent it from cracking?
Thank you very very very much. Got bless you.
My faucet started to leak dripping inside cabinet area we thought it was just the aerator but a associate at home Depot told me it probably was the cartridges that needed to be replaced.Gonna try it in a bit hope it goes well 🤞 thanks for your video very very helpful 👍😊
Good intel.
Thank you for your easy to follow instructions. You have a very encouraging explanation! Now I understand much better!
In my case, I'm going to need a deep socket to get the brass nut loose. I'm afraid the crescent wrench is just going to slip. Do you know what size socket would fit? Thanks.
It turned out to be a 1-1/32 inch socket
I wish I had seen this video last week. Great video. Better to leave soldered or compression fit setting in place, replace the valve stem only! Cheers.
💥💥
Job well done. Thanks.
Are these kits for any valve.. universal?
I'm in the camp that says don't put thread sealant on a compression fitting threads. Even if those threads leak it wouldn't be because of those threads. It will be from the compression fitting. You want the threads to move easily to get the compression ring to tighten properly. Awesome video.
Thank you so much
Can’t get the stem out
