my hope is in affinity. come on affinity.
👍😎 hopefully local implementations so we don't get subscriptions. Once they release scripting support, I am pretty sure we'll get tools like this in Affinity too.
Very nice!, I needed this method, I just started using Krita and Affinity photo, really good stuff 🤩
Great to hear! Thank you and have fun with Krita/AP
Thank you for this great tool. I was hoping to use this with TikTok QA previews, and it gives Error 502 Bad Gateway. Could this be an isolated case with TikTok only?
Thank you for your comment! I have no experience with Tiktok QA previews, but looking at the error you are getting (502 bad gateway), i am guessing, the url in qrcode needs to originating from a tiktok server/app? So i think you are right, that this is an Tiktok issue. Hope this helps.
This video just convinced me to buy Affinity Photo. Your workflow makes so much sense to me when compares to others that use Negative Lab Pro.
Thanks for sharing. Have fun with Affinity :)
Great tutorial. Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Thank you :-)
You are welcome!
I m a new affinity user, I bought it a few months ago. I like the app. But after using photoshop more than 10 years the layer system of affinity seems a little bit comoplicated to me. I always try to fix some of my mistakes and sometimes I can't use those adjustment layers or masks as good as I want. My habds are looking for Ps functionalities. But of course I don't want to be a subscriber of Adobe , it s very unfair to rent the app for years. I hope I'll get used to live with Affinity soonn :) By the way thank you for the videos :) Have a beautiful day
Thank you for comment and welcome to the club! Layer logic is definitely is a big change if you are coming from PS, especially the clipping/child makes it super confusing for new users :) As with anything, you get used to it and even master it. When i go back to PS from time to time, PS now feels strange and unlogical to me.
I was a long time pshop user and migrated to affinity easily, the layers aren’t that much different. Only thing that trips people up is rasterising a layer if it’s still in image format, which will make you scratch your head when selections and filters don’t work as you expect etc. Adobe has had years to get their app to where it is, people seem to expect affinity to be all that with only a few years out, it’s a great work in progress and my pocket loves it!
SOLUTION IF NO COPY AND PASTE POSSIBLE: I almost got crazy, as nothing worked. Finally I found the solution: in the layers overview there is a small icon, can be "A" for text, pixels, and an icon of picture. If you have the picture icon, you CAN NOT copy paste. First you have to make a pixel graphics out of it. Suddenly it works. Now the Affinity works very well!
Glad you found the solution :) Affinity has indeed 2 layer types: image and pixel. Image layers are "fixed" for pixel manipulations, you indeed to rasterize it to a pixel layer indeed. Check out my video ua-cam.com/video/BjFcn8y6IRk/v-deo.html in which I share some macros to solve this issue. Maybe a good idea to publish a video for new users coming from PS to AP :). Thanks again for sharing.
Thanks a lot. Still I am struggling how to transform *part of an object = a selection*? It always only transforms the entire object, but I want to copy or transform just a selcted part. Do you have any idea? (I come from PS, so very new here)
You found it out already.. Pixel vs Image layer :)
my laptop only have 16gb ram and RTX4050 GPU will that be enough? i dont need it to be to fast just working?
I think that would be good enough. I have 12 MB and it is workable.
Inkscape has Trace built in and it is free!
hi, can you make a series of tutorial, to take the most of krita ia?
Thank you for the suggestion. Check out this video ua-cam.com/video/cQ2Eaz-t6Po/v-deo.html Let me know if this is the kind of videos you would like to see? If you like that, i'll try to post more video's like that.
do you have trick to generate image quickly, it takes 3-4 min for 1 generate for me , gtx 1060
I am no expert on this subject, but i think smaller models would definitely (probably less quality) and i would checking ComfyUI optimization tuts (as this utilizes ComfyUI in the backend). At the end it is a lot of experimenting what works, which is not ideal ofcourse. Hope this helps a bit..
Is there a way to do this in Photoshop?
I am pretty sure it should work on PS too.
@@Graphicalfinity Thanks for the response! I can't figure out how to apply the gaussian blur to layers and then group the invert with it. I also can't apply an 'Average' merge
I know this is 3 years old, but still, it shows that AF's masking is messed up. I can't use it. It's maddening.
:) Agree... it needs some time to get used to it (especially if you are coming from PS)
really informative, the blending of both images was the best part thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Thought I would post this comment to spare someone the pain I went through. Although it may have at one point, this will NOT work on MAC. Read below to understand why. The culprit is that pytorch, a required dependency (which this installs through pip), does not support macos INTEL in version 2.4.1 which is the minimum necessary to run this. This can be discovered by viewing the list of pytorch wheels and searching for 2.4.1 and noting that the only distributions available are for linux, win, and macos ARM. Okay so INTEL out. Let's move onto ARM. ARM has a known memory allocation/buffer issue that you can find all over the support forums for ai-diffusion. You will receive the error: "server execution error invalid buffer size" right when it gets near the end of processing your AI changes. It's very heartbreaking because you go through all of the work to set it up and in the end you have to use the PAID$ credit system (probably a good reason for the developer to take his sweet time working out this bug.) Finally I set it up on my windows laptop and it runs beautifully. It's an excellent piece of software and I'm very grateful for it, but I suspect that those involved may feel that if you can afford a mac, you should be able to afford to pay for this kind of service. With that said, it's well worth paying for.
a note that my "suspicions" are completely unfounded and the developer is probably a totally awesome dude who wants to help everyone with his free software! It's not that I am cynical, it's that I am a realist and I believe people deserve to be paid for their hard work. The developer may iron out the ARM mac issue by the time you read this.... With that said, I do not believe the intel issue can be resolved unless pytorch is updated to support the soon obsolete intel mac.
I really enjoy your videos because I learn something new each time. Its new and a different way of doing something useful.
Awesome, thank you!
You should mention in the video that it does not work on Mac at all. The required dependencies for PyTorch only exist for ARM macintosh (like M1), and there is some sort of memory consumption issue with M processors where you will not be able to generate locally. What a shame.
Thanks for pointing that out.. It uses comfyUI in the background and if i am not mistaken that should work on the (M) macs without issues...(at least i have seen others running it).
Great video, is the first image of the castle a stock photo?
It's castle Neuschwanstein in Germany, image is from pixabay pixabay.com/photos/neuschwanstein-castle-germany-2602208/
Thanks! Great video! Greetings from Vienna! 🤠👍🎸📸
Thank you too!
Do you have macros for this?
I'll try to release a macro, hopefully soon.
That would be great !
Amazing as always!
Thank you!
Each of your video is such a mix of marvel and precision! could you next time share of little explanation of how rgb colors add ups or how you combine layers to isolate them before correction. This way we can reproduce your workflow but also have a deeper understanding of the models behind. Thank you!
Thank you for the comment and the suggestion!
Just made a macro from this, thank you for your inspiration.
Excellent!
Amazing! 👍 💛 Wehre do your ideas come from? You have so many in your arsenal!
Thank you... to be honest, i don't know myself :)
Love that Nandor has gotten into photo editing.
Thank you?
That was simple. Thanks!
You're welcome! Thank you too!
Wow! So much in depth info in a short video, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it! My pleasure.
Excellent, is there a video showing how you made these please? I would love to make say a herringbone pattern or similar
Thanks! They are created using procedural textures, check out the video ua-cam.com/video/0jxocarHOeg/v-deo.html (also in the description). Probably you can create a herringbone pattern using procedural texture functions if your math is good, my math skills are not what they used to be 😂.. Don't forget to share it if you do succeed.
Wonderful video! I Will bê waiting the “erase black”video. Thanks
You Got a Fresh and New "Indian" Subscriber........... Congratulations !!!
:) welcome and thank you
Just tried this but at the skin soften all I get when I invert the image is a negative
Make sure that the the high pass and the invert are BOTH either a clipping layer or a (clipped) child layer (see ua-cam.com/video/ifJToVutsEU/v-deo.html for more info). If one of them is a clipping layer and the other a child, you will indeed get an inverted image.
Brilliant!
Thank you!
Please don't leave your wonderful work about Affinity products. Your subscribers are eagerly awaiting your videos on this topic, especially those where you surprise with literally academic research and non-standard solutions.
Thank you so much for your message.. i'll try to post some more Affinity tuts in the upcoming weeks..
Cant get to get it
Thank you very much 🙂
You're welcome 😊Thank you too!
In Affinity photo the FX scales whether you like it or not ! infuriatingly when I paste the FX style onto a new object / image / vector which is a different size it automatically scales the effect, (regardless of whether I checked the scale box or not) making it look completely different and there is no way I can see of stopping it from messing with my work, I have hundreds of parts of a user interface with button and controls of various sizes, that I want the exact same FX at the exact same scale applied, but Affinity photo seems intent at sabotaging me at every level, apparently it knows best and sod what I want, sadly its not a professional piece of software and I wont be buying any future versions ! PS and I really REALLY hate Adobe btw but I think I hate Affinity even more now, at least Photoshop didn't make it impossible to do your work
Very interesting.. it seems like a bug on your system? I tried on my windows version and when paste fx is applied from the edit menu, the fx are not scaled?
@@Graphicalfinity I'm on mac and have updated Affinity suite several times and the issue persists, I've also watched many videos on Affinity FX and have observed their styles scale too when applied to smaller objects without the box being ticked. The scale box works only to stop scaling after the effect has been applied, but will scale it if you like it not, when its first applied, rendering saving styles completely unusable because the only work around is to write all the original values down when you create the style, and recreate the style manually.
One use is to pre-flight images for laser engraving.
Thank you for sharing!
Great tool ! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Or you can simply use inkscape, a powerful open source vector graphic program with a very goot tracer and simplifyer.
You are the best ..thank you very much❤️❤️❤️❤️
You're welcome 😊
Amazing. Another great tutorial. The procedural texture is such an underused feature!
Thank you!
In the description you mention dx/w and dy/h, I think you meant to write rx/w and ry/h. I think the formula rotl(vec2((rx/w),w)) could be simplified to vec2(w,rx/w), no need to rotate the vector. Also h/w is a constant so you could just write 1 instead unless you need the ratio of height to width for some reason, since your image is square this ratio happens to be 1.
Thanks for the tips!
This is such a horrible video
thanks mate
You're welcome!
Very cool. Afinity Photo 2.6 will have a great AI selector.
Yes, AP2.6 looks very promising.. hopefully they will add more cool features in par with PS.
Installing it on a Mac is almost as easy as rebuilding the pyramids from scratch. Adobe's generative fill is a censorship nightmare, so I stopped using Photoshop. But the alternative, to be added to the likes of Affinity Photo, has to be easy from the get-go.
Haha.. (wonder if the egyptians from those times would be able to get it installed 😂). If AP would open up an open plugin system, i am pretty sure we would get some cool tools like this in AP too.
Great lesson ! Thank you ! 🌷
Glad you liked it! Thank you!
