No the HMS used a steam syren instead of a whistle The 2 syren's were located at the mid section of the forward super structure on the port and starboard side the whistle heard in the video is most likely a tug boat since a ship the size of the HMS hood requires a very loud and low pitched horn so she can make over vessels aware of her presents as well for navigation through fog to warn over vessels and it is very rare to find steam vessel of her size of a whistle of that volume and pitch
