There is clearly a misreading of Scripture here. Preparation day is clearly Friday and therefore the following day was the Sabbath day. It was a high Sabbath, or doubly holy due to the fact that it was the seventh day of the week instituted in creation week and the fact that it was the first day of unleavened bread. Compare all the Gospels along with Biblical chronology, both civil and sacred. The latter began in Ex12 with the passover.

We can water the truth down to the point that it becomes a lie. Though sincere and with good intentions, our preacher is doing what most Western preachers have done since 1969 - that is when women, post feminist movement, refused to veil or wear hats in church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and it spread from there. So, as the years went by, women covering their heads and the proverbial grandma wearing her hat in church became a thing of the past. Head coverings then became a relic of a by gone time and culture... and most Christians fail to recognize that covering in the assembly WAS Christian culture based upon obedience to the Holy Spirit's instructions for public worship, or liturgy. A wedding band has nothing to do with this. Why do the churches, even today,, recognize that the following verses about the Lord's Supper are about liturgy and they are timeless and trans-cultural.... but they fail to understand and accept that the liturgy about covering is also timeless and trans-cultural? Why? We disobeyed Paul, and without that liturgy, that weekly reminder, confusion has set in and it even infects the minds of our preachers who preach to the itchy ears of the woke West.
