      Yes! We really need to dial in our environmental modifications: shade cloth in the summer, maybe some kind of hoop and vinyl arrangement for overwintering cover crops. Since this recording, we've gotten a handful of beans, a cucumber, and there are at least three ears of corn lol. Also- squash plants looking good with lovely blossoms (but no fruit yet).

    I like the "COD" and the "ARK". But...anyone who is given land with factories, homes, gardens, animals, sewage and water infrastructure, and more...and proceeds to burn it all down, kill all the animals and tear up all the infrastructure...as Palestinians did...is TRULY INSANE.

    • @dustandtribe
      @dustandtribe 5 місяців тому

      Not sure where these ideas come from, but I've heard them from others. The Palestinian people are no more nihilistic or self-destructive than anyone else. That sounds like a simple, maybe even pandering statement, but it's an awareness we should always have when people make statements about whole groups. The general trajectory of any community is survival and then prosperity. People are people and that's what we all want. I'm not going to directly challenge any of your statements, except to encourage a general skepticism when groups of people are framed as inherently and abnormally self-destructive.

    Kind of weird how the youtube algorythm led me to this video: It was a sugestion to a video I watch for comfort. A piece of a story of nobility in the good sense and trusting the fact that humans can be good. I somewhat bothers me that "noble" refers more to royal families than to being a good person in english. So I'll use it in the sense I would love the word to be used: This was a noble video. I like it a lot.

    This is definitely a thought provoking topic, and one that has, unfortunately as you described, become taboo. The Prophet's (SAW) practice of it definitely brings to light the many purposes of marriage; it's not simply to start families, but also to bring stability to society. I can recall the Prophet SAW marrying widows and bringing stability to their households. But it's really disheartening to see so many of our brothers and sisters turn away from the Sunnah or criticize/condemn it using the (what I'll call) "excuses" from the west/disbelievers. May Allah guide us. Anyways you're definitely onto something with your article, and I'd love to have a call discussing this topic more so we can get sisters' perspective on it. But make the call on June 3rd or after, pretty please. When us graveyard shift folks return to normal work hours 😅

    This is EXCELLENT recounting of devastation of gold being found on the Indigenous people of area, the Nisenan and the Miwok People. He lays out in clear fashion how this came about through the construction of the Sutter Saw Mill, and how the land they chose to build was not what had been designated to Sutter by the Mexican Government (the area was still under the control of Mexico) but was Nisenan land. How they enslaved the people there to build the mill. Then one worker found a gold nugget and and the rest is the birth of California, while the Native Populations were wiped out.

    There are those who say "Americans" poured over the U.S. and did the deeds they deem so reprehensible, but not true. In the 1800's the U.S. was awash with people's from many nations whom would hardly know what to call themselves. Suppressed peoples of the time were akin to the inhabitants of a pandor's box spilling onto this great soil. Heck, the U.S. used to advertise in Europe with lies to get people to come here. Because Gov't sponsoring and engineering the Westward expansion was difficult, they opted for the chaos they got just to inhabit the lands West of the Mississippi.
