Just got a sharptail and the bluing wiped off the barrel the day i bought it , been waiting 4 weeks so far with zero progress on the warrany claim. Not what one would expect for $2000 Canadian.
@TheKellyrudi73 that seems to be the case for most everybody I've spoken with. It's very disappointing that we spend so much for a firearm and get so little in return. The fit and finish definitely leaves something to be desired as well as their customer service. After nothing came of the second phone call I simply gave up on it.
Year later, how do you like it?
WTF DID YOU DO TO THE STOCK
It's a sporter stock, not a military issue.
@liampritchett1779 it's a spoter stock not mil issue
I know that’s the problem
Ummmmm..... the only thing original is the action. 28" stainless krieger barrel did not come factory and neither did the top mounted rail. The stock was the least of it.
Now that’s dedication
I like getting up there before everyone else :) a few more weeks and conditions will be perfect.
I dont typically like sporterized guns but that there is a sporterized gun done right.
I’d like to go there but I’m having trouble figuring out which trail to follow and how to get there
Thanks for the review! I like the detail about being able to air it down and sleep on the side. I'm not as concerned about the insulation. I thought it was odd that you suggested they taper it because a specific selling point, which you pointed out, is to clip multiples together. That said, it would make sense to offer two models: one tapered, one rectangular.
Total see the confusion about the taper comment. If I were using into to go car camping with a significant other, the shape is fine. If I were to take it backpacking, then I would prefer the taper as the corners of the pad rarely get used. It would save a significant amount of weight. Also, for temperature control, the least amount of air/ material to cool down and rob your body heat the better. I understand that for most people, weight and insulation is not an issue but for those on trail it can definitely be a deal breaker.
Just won one at a raffle. Probably donate to shooting range for kids
Your gun to do with as you please but I really like the acrius. It was my first over under and I haven't seen one I like as much.
What are your thoughts after owning it for a year?
Absolutely love it. It's not my permanent grouse and chukar gun.
@@kiltitonthetrailWhat do you use as your permanent gun for chukar and grouse?
@@kiltitonthetrailhonestly, I’d love to see another review after a year of owning it! It would help me feel informed. Thank you for your time!
The “crack” is where the extractor assembly connects to the rest of the barrel. As for the finish, yeah, that’s messed up.
Is there a shop who sell this mount? Rocksolidind have it out of stock.
I dont believe so. They seem to have shifted from the k31 to the Mosin and it looks like the shop is slowing down, lots of out of stock items.
Thanks for an excellent review 👌
Thank you this was helpful. I unfortunately have the exact same issue with the child lock being engaged and not being able to open the door from the outside. Once the door panel was removed, how exactly did you open the door? Is there a specific wire/latch you engaged to open it?
If you watch the video, you can see what looks like. Two bicycle cables attached to the door if you can get access to be able to pull on one of those, it will free the latch.
Great Video 💯💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
I was thinking about one of these in 20ga, but i think ill just get a L.C now .

Try Winchester duck and pheasant loads. It does a rather fine job with number 5 shot. Bam! Bam!
Хуглу разве не турецкое? Isn't Huglu Turkish?
Well I just bought a Bobwhite Southpaw. Without yet firing a shot I experienced the finish leaving black all over the cleaning cloths. I have the cracked rib in exactly the same spot and I also have a loose foregrip. Sent it back to CZ but I'm concerned these issues are systemic and will recurr even if they send me new barrels or a gun. I suspect the rib is cracking due to flexing that occurs in that location where you grab the barrels to break open the stiff action. I think the finish is a systemic issue and is just the nature of blackened chrome. I've seen articles of people complaining about sootiness coming off of wheels and nuts that have a black chrome finish. I really don't think that finish is suited for firearms. CZ would be better suited going back to blued barrels. I'm giving them a chance to make this right but I'm not holding out much hope.
I hope you thest with yours. Mine has taken on a whole new role in the gun cabinet. I figure if you cant beat them, then join them. That gun has over 200 miles under it now. Its officially a hiking gun, theres no point to baby it now.
Berno was great, but Maybe is made in Turkey But Turkey makes great itself. comfiosing.

Walmart gun😅
No.. a cal ranch gun. My shotguns are work horses, Phil robertson says he needs a gun to do 3 things, 1 go bang 2. Go bang and 3 go bang. If your concer is the store that sells the firearm you will be disappointed to know that Walmart was the leading seller of the FCP k. I can go to scheels and buy a garbage gun just as much as Walmart sells quality rifles. I don't need 1200$ shotguns because I can't justify spending that much money to drop it on rocks, through it in mud or use it as a cone paddle. Stay tuned, 1st week in October is the waterfowl opener. I'll show you the abuse my browning bps takes. That will be a 10 minute review. That pointer has been put through the paces and all I can say is the action is stiff to open and the safety is stiff with gloves on. If walmart is selling them they are doing something right.
How much does it cost you Sir?
Not mine but I looked up some of the parts list... it's up there lol well over $3000 usd
@@kiltitonthetrail thank you, lot of cash.
Is that an auto safety on that Pointer? just wondering if you have to undo safety every time its opened and closed.
Sorry for the late response, it is not an auto safety.

Ummmm......... OK.
Weighs a ton? What's the total weight, scope, mag...and cost if you don't mind?
Right at 15 lbs scoped and loaded. 14.76 without shells or cheek riser. It cost 400 for the rifle, 1200 for the barrel work, 500 for new firing pin, spring, and scope mount, not including shipping to get the rail custom fitted. 275 for the stock and pillar/glass bedding for the stock. Glass was 900 when he bought it. All in just about 3500 after all parts shipped.
My preece precision tikka t3x loaded weighs in at 8.75, comparing the two the k31 is nearly double. Hopefully I will have a review of the tikka next week if I have time to group test it. Currently it was roughed in at 25y at an indoor range and we are waiting for good weather to send it out to 300y.
@@kiltitonthetrail, Did Larry work on the Tikka as well?
@Harvey Sexton no, the tikka was done by by garret preece with preece precision. His craftsmanship is is top notch and to my knowledge his rifles are always on podium, the last I checked, Morgun King is shooting preece precision.
@@kiltitonthetrail yeah but a tikka much younger than the K31... so difficult to make a comparaison

Many thanks for posting this. I got mine from eBay here in Germany. Good as new. And now I know, how to set it up 😊 Gonna get me the sea to summit bug net for the summer time as inner tent. Can't wait for my next trip. Are you still happy with the Hexamid?
So far I am. I use it primarily in the winter where I can dig out a snow bench and get a little more head room and there are no bugs to worry about. I'm curious how this will do in warmer wetter months when the mosquitoes are swarming.
@@kiltitonthetrailI was researching all over UA-cam. I see two valid options against mosquitos: The sea to summit nano net tent or the six moon design serenity net tent. First one is around 30 €, the other about 180€ here in Germany. I guess I go for the first one, since it is only 40 gramm, second is over 300 gramm.
Best part of a sxs is the wear it takes on over time. I have a 28ga bobwhite g2 and a blaser sxs 45-70 and they both have the same wear in the same spots.i actually like it lol
How long did your bobwhite take to wear? Mine did it in just 1 day, I figure over time it would definitely earn itself a bare patch but not over night.
Also does you bob have a weld or noticeable line a half inch from the breech?
@@kiltitonthetrail yesn thats a silver braze joint. Its sufficient but hard to hide in bluing. Thats why the bobwhite was left in the white on the muzzle end. If you look at the lump or mid rib as some call it, its brazed or soldered in place and since its non fwrritic it does not typically take to hot salt bluing well.
@@kiltitonthetrail it was a good weekend trip before it saw a good color wear. No doubt an issue on cz part. Likely did not get the bluing salts up past 308degrees when it needed to be salted heavily and pushed past 312. Its actually a blessimg in disguise since you need hotter salt bath to blue better qyality steel. Best you can do is run some oxpho blue over it on degreased 0000steel wool.
@@eduffy4937, I thought they used black chrome, not blueing? That's what CZ states anyway. I think they should just blue them instead of what they do with them.
love the videos
