Can this run on oil pressure alone or does it require a separate pump as well?
Well, I just cleaned mine at 3480 mile on the oil of my 2015 Duramax and let me say, MONEY WELL SPENT! The inside of the spinner was caked with carbon to the point you really have to rub to clean it off, DOING IT'S JOB! I attempted to video by myself but that was a disaster. That said I learned a few things. 1. let the engine sit for a few hrs or do it cold that way you can avoid a little unnecessary mess. That dribble was really my fault. I offered Dieselcraft to fabricate the bracket for 2015 and below. Got cancer so slow going, however now that I see the results I'm going to get on it. I thought there was room on the 2016, but the hood scoop intake is in the way. None the less there has to be a location to mount on the 2016 and later GM's. I would also run this on my gas unit. WELL DONE Dieselcraft!
Eric...If you power on the pump and not start the engine for 1 minute the air pressure will force the oil out of the centrifuge body and eliminate that oil spillage. Hope you are feeling better. Thanks
How does it take the glycerin out?
It doesn’t. That requires a chemical reaction
Where are you located?
They are in CA. I'm probably going to put one on my 2015 Duramax.
@@ericwiltz6584 Cool, thanks. - take care
@@leeisenberg I really think it's a no brainer to install on any vehicle. I'm looking at three different units: Spinner II 25, PPE unit and the Duracraft unit. IMO the weakest point of the Duracraft unit is the need for the little air pump. It's not a deal breaker, I just like simplicity. The other two units use gravity return, my preference however, under the hood of my 2015 that's a pretty tough go though may be possible if I install an aftermarket oil pan from PPE. If I got that way, I weld a return on, but not sure it will work yet. I'm waiting to hear back from the spinner folks on specs for return: does it have to be rigid, minimum ID of return etc.. What were you considering using it on?
@@ericwiltz6584 I never thought of putting 1 on a vehicle, just using to make waste oil diesel fuel. I like the "single pass" type a little better right now, but not planning on buying 1 b/c of the cost. I'd like to find 1 used. I filter waste oils down to 1 micron when I have the time & energy. thanks, - take care
@@leeisenberg You can get them out of China and very affordable. I'm not going Chinese though. Yep, $600 when you look at the total package. I'm going with the Dieselcraft unit because of the simplicity of install, though I didn't want an air pump. I'll also say, Dieselcrafts customer service is first class this far. Keep your eyes open, in a month or two, I hope to post a video.
Do you ship these? Whats the total cost?
Room for improvement. Bowl should be empty to start with so once you’ve added the coloured water there is no reason to close the valve after the fuels run through the water separator.
Oh I don't like that word 'dirt'..it's bad and it also claims life later by being buried in the stuff.
Poor Darren
Could be a neat system. Nive vid. Volkswagen Lupo 3L with waste vegetable ois is rather sustainable...and gets you from A to B...
So if I ran it thru the centrifuge before I processed it, I would use less chemicals. Nice! Thnx, Dave. Btw, your vid was very helpful!😎
It removes glycerine?
+Dave Kana Yes glycerin is much heavier then bio around 10.5 lbs/gal vs 7.3 lbs/gal
is the oil still edible afterwards? I need to clean my cooking oil.
+Guy Fawkes Yes this will clean it.
Hey thats incredible!
Good demo ! At what temperature do I need to heat Oil before sending it to centrifuge ? Thxs
+Fernando Prioletta Treating vegitable oil works best at 120F or higher keep in mind the centrifuge will need to get up to temp as well.
LOL...."wair"? Too fucking funny. LOL
Thanks for your reply NH. Yes, cold weather is definitely a deciding factor heh. Check out these guys if you have time. They went from making Bio-diesel to farming/crushing/producing their own VO. They speak too your winter point better than i ever could. Nothing like real world info. Its found searching for wineglass ranch.
I know that, however it is a bad idea to run straight WVO or even biodiesel during winter in a cold climate. Petro diesel is still the way to go if its cold out. I know you won't get glycerin from WVO without processing it into biodiesel, however it seemed that some people were under the impression that this centrifuge would separate WVO into biodiesel and glycerin.
You wont have any glycerin from WVO if you dont process it to make diesel fuel. You can use just WVO if it is cleaned of food waste and animal fats and dewatered which this does just fine.
You answered my question twice!! You are so kind and helpful. Can you tell me if good biodiesel would act as a cetane boost for my no. 2 diesel? Probably last question. Thanks again and have a Blessed day! David
Biodiesel has a high flashpoint of about 125C/ 280 F compared to petroleum diesel fuel, which has a flash point of 55C./ 140F
Thank you so much!! That helps a lot. Is the flashpoint of No. 2 diesel the same as biodiesel? Thanks again, David.
*The flash point of biodiesel (>130 °C, >266 °F) is significantly higher than that of petroleum diesel (64 °C, 147 °F) or gasoline (−45 °C, -52 °F).
Can you tell what the typical flashpoint of gasoline is as compared to biodiesel? Thanks!! Remember, many of us can't comprehend above 8th grade level.
He never replied.
This will NOT separate the glycerin from the waste vegetable oil. It is simply a method of removing contaminants from the waste vegetable oil before being processed into biodiesel, or removing any contaminants from bio-diesel after it has been made. It can also be used to filter waste motor oil to run as diesel.
You are bleeding the oil supply off from the main barrings. What does that do to the oil pressure to the engine? Doesn't look safe.
Ok how does the oil get into it? How does it get out? How do you get the glycerin out? What powers it? How much does it cost? How many gal. per hour does it produce? This video doesn't show you much and it doesn't tell you much?
It sure doesn't show you much?
where can i buy one of these thing
how can a centrifuge remove glycerin? glycerin molocules join the long oil molocules together.
I could buy three wvo trucks for that price... Are you aiming strictly for industrial sales?
i dont get it ????????????? i saw no oil going into centrifuge to get cleaned in this video? or any flowing out in to a container? WTF?
you guys dont seem like you're having much fun
Very impressive system. Professional/industrial use (and price).
so if this is a function of heat and gravity. why then does it not figure that a centrifuge would help seperate water and or glycerin.
does this remove water or glycerin??
Well, I looked at your video and noticed the only difference in what I'm doing is that your centrifuge has some new graphics........have you ever looked at the bottom of your vegetable oil tank? Is it clean?
wair can it be found for sale?
Just to take it a step further. Diesel fuel (or W.V.O/kerosene/biodiesel, etc.) doesn't ignite in a motor like gas (like with a "spark"-plug, which a diesel does not have). Heat and pressure cause it to ignite, or combust. Hence the reason diesel motors have, and require, much higher compression ratios. Hope this helps a bit.
I cannot believe it's been 8 months since someone has commented on this video.
How does that cost to filter a gallon of veg oil?
Yes the OP clarified it. I understand now. Thanks for being so helpful.
Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't aware of the distinction.
Okay, he just said in the same breath "you can use this for filtering biodiesel" and "any fluid that is non-flammable". Anyone see a problem there?
Looks Great, what is its handling capacity? Good video aswell.
I have I use to filoter waste motor oil to use as fuel for my diesel engine. they are great. I love it.
well done!
i want one....
