this is actually likely not true. while it is possible that fnaf 3 and 6 do take place in the same year, fnaf 1 cannot take place in 1993. in phone guys fnaf 1 calls he states that the animatronics have been singing the same songs for 20 years, insinuating that the 1st freddy’s opened roughly 20 years before fnaf 1, and due to the recent steel wool games we know that the original freddy’s location opened in 1983. that would place fnaf 1 around 2003 and fnaf 3 around 2033.

The problem with shatter victim is it's literalizing the dream theory and making it real. It's not really addressing things, it's moreso deliberatly trying to make it not a dream but it can't get away from the idea that the games are influenced by what the child sees/saw. Deep down that's what these games are about, chuckie e cheese/showbiz animatronics are scary to kids. That's the idea that fnaf 4 was directly playing with. I do think scott gave up on dream theory, a lot of people see dream endings as a cop out but honestly "it was never real" is never a deflating concept to me, because all of these fiction stories aren't real. What matters is how it was told and I think scott succeeded in that, mostly. Shatter theory may be the explanation for the game *now*.
