7:30 - So [friendships] are Relationships of choice, unlike family, where you might have an obligation based on blood. With relationships of choice, whether they're romantic or platonic, you know that the commitment isn't just that you have to be here based on who you were born to, right? You choose to be there. And this commitment really shows to me that, at their core, there's a purity and a goodness to two people being like, "I want to be in your life." And, "Yeah I want to be in your life too! And we're gonna bring light to each other's life. We're going to help each other grow. We're gonna help each other learn. We're going to try to keep each other safe and healthy. We're gonna help each other through hard times. We're going to share this journey of life together." That to me is one of the most beautiful things that we can do with each other.

Thank you so much, Ms. Arnold. I appreciate the courage and vulnerability you embodied as you put yourself out there and told your story. Leadership that is good and functional has become such an important subject for me to learn and understand as I put myself out there as well and tell my tales of heartbreak, redemption, and more.

I remain hesitant to admit that I have both autism & adhd, after the many times when I have had opportunities denied or taken away from me due to prejudice against anyone who is different that is felt by people with the power to control who is allowed the opportunity to prove themselves worthy of succeeding. hope that neurodivergency is beginning to be somewhat better tolerated than it was in 1990 when I was the first student at my private elementary school to be diagnosed with any disability, developmental or otherwise, in the entire 40 year history of eugenicist-doctrine-practices such as the annual student registration process which required their designated doctor to sign off that he has "performed a complete physical examination & found no defect or disability".

This has been such exciting insight for me. I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD (last month at the age of 22,) and had always felt worried about how I would fit in with the Corporate Finance world. I am glad to hear from someone with so much value to give to the ADHD community, and I believe that greater awareness of this divergence can only make it easier for those who have ADHD.

Every couple of weeks I'll search UA-cam for new Dr Koob videos. Today I was rewarded 8 hours after this video posted. I'm 4 years sober thru AA and recovered from severe alcoholism. 2 months ago it dawned on me that addiction is solely based on a stress response and there's too much talk about dopamine rewards. Next I hope to check back soon and find out that Dr Koob has connected stress to sex and that sex lives on the same street and has the same address as addiction. Then once you know where it lives you can kill it.

Thanks for the comment and congrats on your sobriety. Using alcohol to cope with stress is normalized in our culture. Plus, we don't often like to sit in uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. What you've achieved is a big deal and I'm glad you took the steps needed to recover.

John, you are still working for the system and haven't come clean. Once you get to the level you are in, the only way out is in a bodybag. You made the decision, so you have to face the music. I've listened to your material, and I can clearly see that you are not disclosing everything. Don't forget that you'll have to give account to your Creator on judgement day.
