I’m gonna try to explain the way I do it but it may not turn out how I do it, but I’ll try. First, have your left hand up, palm facing you. Then, curl your pinky and ring finger into your palm, you should now be making a “finger gun” type gesture. Then, hold your yarn, end down, in your curled pinky and ring finger (the end of the yarn towards the pinky). Then bring the side of yarn connected to your ball around your index and middle finger, I’d say aim for your middle knuckle fold on your index, and then curl it around your middle finger, back over the index where your finger bone meets your hand, and curl it over the rest of your hand, holding it with your pinky on the other side. At this point your hand should be palm down and you should see an x in your yarn, the last part of yarn should be on top of the first piece we curled around our fingers. Now you need your hook, go under the yarn farthest up your fingers, do this at the point your middle and index touch, hook the yarn and flip your hook, it should be able to sit in your fingers, if it can’t, practice until it can. After you master that you can then turn your hook, you have to be careful here because it can still fall apart. What you do next is hold the yarn by the point everything is connected, right under the hook, and edge the circle off of your fingers, then make sure your tail end of yarn is facing towards the left (it is okay if its a little twisted but you can untwist it if you feel comfortable doing so). You will be including the tail when you make your first row, it’s not used to MAKE the crochets but you crochet around it into the hold of the circle. Next you chain the amount needed for pattern, holding that connecting point to keep it sturdy, and as you do your first row you are going to go INTO the circle, it will first look like you are crocheting normally but when you are done you are going to pull that tail you have and if you have the directions correct the tail will snitch up your circle and you will have completed a magic circle!
