    Very good video - I was looking for a quick summary of the options - elec v water. This covers most of it. What I could have done with is a summary of the key components for each system - when set up properly. I see lots of videos of people putting down electric mats on existing floors. What concerns me is the insulation or lack of insulation between the mat and the concrete. Thank you for the video - I will share this with my daughter and her husband (both very busy people).

    my neostat v2's are physically wired to the UH8 wiring hub. However, the stats do not pair with the NeoHub after enabling menu 01 - the wireless symbol quickly flashes but then disappears. I was told by Grant heating that I need the UH8-RF wiring centre that supports wireless thermostat connectivity for this to work but that doesn't seem right to me as my understanding is the thermostats are talking directly to the neohub? Can anyone clarify the situation so i can try to get this working?

    • @nu-heatuk
      @nu-heatuk 3 дні тому

      Hi @andymoss-w9r , I can confirm that you do not require a UH8RF wiring board to use the Neohub equipment as the Hub works directly from the thermostats so the wiring boards play no part in the setup process, the issue you are stating could be linked to the broadband connection you are using. When setting up the Neohub it is important that the same broadband connection is use for both the Hub and the phone or laptop operating the app, avoid setting up the app on your phone or laptop using any connected booster repeater Wi-Fi plugs in the house as this will have a different connection point from the Neohub that is hard wired into the broadband router.

    • @nu-heatuk
      @nu-heatuk 3 дні тому

      Hi @brendaboyle-s1s , if the thermostat is not presenting a flame icon it could be that the thermostat is in its frost protection mode this limits the maximum set temperature to 17c and will block you from requesting a call for heat above that value. If frost protection mode is currently activated an icon will be displayed on the screen either a snowflake icon or a house and snow flake icon depending on the age of the thermostat, to deactivate this function use the left and right arrow keys to highlight the far left circular icon and press the tick key, with the icon now removed the full temperature range will return.

    MCS offers no assurance to Consumers in reality when things go wrong. If a company should cease trading and you contact them for help, they are not interested and send you on a merry -go round. Eventually you'll be asked if you paid by credit card and suggest you contact them. Seriously, they are not fit for purpose. All sounds good on paper, but not worth paper it's written on.

    • @nu-heatuk
      @nu-heatuk 6 місяців тому

      A good MCS installer should be including a transferable installation workmanship guarantee that provides cover for installation issues should the original company cease trading. Nu-Heat register a two year policy with IWA at the point of MCS certification which can be transferred to new home owners. A claim on this policy can then be made directly with IWA should the worst happen.

    Would you need to level a suspended timber floor before laying the insulation pipe boards?

    • @nu-heatuk
      @nu-heatuk 6 місяців тому

      It is advised to start with a level surface where possible, if the timber deck boarding is being lifted to install mineral wool below this offers a good opportunity to correct deviations in floor levels, screw down any uneven floorboards or if required replace with a T&G chipboard deck, level the deck using self-levelling compound where required.

    Is there anything in this video that is not false information? - Circulating air: sure, if you run the radiators at high temperature, but at low temperature the air currents are slower and they do radiate a lot of the heat they produce. - High temperatures needed: nope, size the radiators properly, they can easily run at 40C or lower - Taylored to the house with individual zoning blablabla: yeah, that's called a thermostatic valve, which can be electronic and if need be controlled from the other side of the world, or you simply use zone valves just like you would do with underfloor heating circuits I was hoping this video (long down in the search results) would maybe convince me to install underfloor heating while I'm redoing all my floors by telling me something I haven't heard yet, yet it's the same clichés that simply aren't right. I guess there really isn't a real advantage to underfloor heating and I should just happily redo my floors without the underfloor heating, and keep my oversized radiators (currently running at max 45C, expected to be lower after the renovations) I can warm my hands, socks, clothes... on.

In our comprehensive handover pack, we include details of how to register your warranty with us to benefit from our lifetime technical support. With regards moving the boiler, this must be carried out by a qualified heating engineer with relevant qualifications, such as GasSafe or OFTEC, depending on the type of boiler. Additional qualifications are also likely to be required when working with the mains water supply or pressurised cylinders, so it's really important you are speaking to a competent, professional installer. I hope that helps.
