Last time we were in a huge Pokemon TCG boom (pandemic), lots of people didn't have access to English cards so they turned to Japanese, which ended up selling out as well. Maybe we're seeing this cycle again!

someone pointed out on a fake boosterbox the easiest tell is the pokeballs on the shrink wrap lol, they are way too small

That happened to me with 2 twighlight masqurade booster boxes from cw-official they sent me 2 fake booster bixes for 220$..
Someone with a world-class collection once said "I try not to take Pokemon cards too seriously" and that changed the way I look at the hobby.

Fomo sucks and it's the only reason pokemon makes money I've tried to keep sealed collections but fomo takes over this was a great video keep up the good work

The other big problem is stolen product. People are stealing stuff all day long and listing that stuff on a certain website I won't name and basically you're buying cheap stolen product! It's just sucks that we have come to this, not to mention how toxic the community is getting (not everyone). But videos like this that spread awareness is what we NEED, not another AI investment vod about how every card and every set to ever exist is the next big hit and you totally need to blow your entire life savings on it
@@Lunathean geez, that in itself is a whole new thing brother. In a boom, for some they'll take product where they can get it and sometimes they will step low to get it. Great points.
The Pokemon TCG boom ruined the YGO product stock in my area. The local Target, Walmart and Gane Stops don't stock YGO product anymoe despite the fact that the incidents were caused by Pokemon scalpers. They still carry Pokemon TCG product since it's that pofitable but YGO product is basically extinct unless it's a dedicated card shop.
@@EinSilverRose you know, it's very interesting that you mention this because I've noticed a huge drop off in Yu-Gi-Oh product in my area too. Don't think it's the same but if it is, that's crazy stuff.
Companies don't stock YGO unless they are a registered OTS as they have been burned on product that never moves too many times by konami. For every 1 great set there are 3 or 4 that are full of bulk, outdated within months or offer no value besides singles. OTS have to stock product to be able to hold official tourneys which draw customers to the store.
"And for $90, that's a steal." People who get ripped off generally were trying to rip someone else off.
I'm sure sometimes that is definitely the case.

@0:03 the dude who supposedly robbed... Yeah Game stop has a cap on value of 1500 per card... So technically its his fault for not understanding that if I hade a 300k card Id fly myself to PSA and hand deliver and pick up. I dont believe his BS.

I would never buy singles online unless i know its legit. Too many stories of sus stuff.

Just sent mine for grading. I have a bundle of cards that I’m holding until my son is 25 (8 months old rn), and this one will be an addition. Once this card reaches vintage, I can almost be for certain that it will be a $1k card

Pokemon tcg pocket has introduced a shit ton more people. This is the first big pull since that game came out. The supply hasn't changed but the buyer count is substantially higher
