Hey, young brothers! I am so blessed by your ministry podcast. Your reference to the Bible and real life experiences is very powerful! You all continue to walk with God! 😊What are some effective and creative ways to minister to men of your age group?

  • @cityonthehillyouthfoundation

Great topic! For me the more I pursue Christ the more im aware of his presence and understand his voice and his word. So it becomes more about yielding and repentance. over time my desire for the things of God becomes stronger than the pull of sin. . I like what the brothers said about spiritual disciplines that is very necessary. This was a great talking point. Keep up the good work guys!

If someone cannot forgive themselves then they are at the point of repentance, and repentance for someone like myself coming out of deep sin was essential, I was sick of my sin and I came to Yeshua with a humble and contrite heart. The bible was my last hope, so opened the bible from Genesis and read the entire bible. And it changed my life so profoundly, and in the new testament when Jesus said , "Come to Me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest" I knew I was one of those people. And I asked Jesus to forgive me of my sins and to come into my heart, and over a period of 3 months He changed my life completely, and became born again. As Jesus said , "Unless a man is born again ha cannot enter the kingdom of God", I became a new creation in Christ, where old things have passed away and all thing are made new, where it was no longer me who lives but Christ who lives in me and the life I live today I live for Jesus, who bore my sins, died and rose again for my and everyone's salvation. In the first chapter of John, John says, "And as many as received Him the them He has the authority to make sons of God, even those who believe in His name". No man on earth was any worse then me, I came out of deep sin and whatever sin I did not commit in my flesh I committed in my mind, so why would God ever save me. It is because God does not look at sin as we do, because the very first time anyone sins and knows they have sinned, they have made themselves enemies of God and must now be saved in His Son by what Jesus accomplished upon the cross. I was a violent drunk and my wife had to take our children for her and their safety and she divorce me. And about a yr later I came to the place of suicide because I could no longer bare my sin and forgiving myself is meaningless, because it is Jesus that everyone must go to for that forgiveness, you will always regret your sin, but once save in Jesus you become a new man and you are no longer the sinner that you once were, because Jesus washes all your sins away, every sin you have committed no matter how vile, depraved, or despicable, Jesus died for everyone of those sins. And it does not matter if you have not sinned to this depths, because anyone's first sin is a bad and against them as all of another mans sin that are terrible, like mine, because Jesus knows what He is saving us from. You are not in Jesus if you say you cannot forgive yourself, because that nullifies what He has done for you. To say that you cannot forgive yourself means you are still the same man packing around your sin and claiming it still has control of you, Jesus died to break the bonds of sin. I had a shotgun in mt mouth just before I read the bible, I was at the state of suicide, but there was a bible on a couch across the room. And In thought what if the was true, so I decided to read the entire bible to see if it was true. And if after I read the entire bible and then I just sat there still in my sins, I would have said, "OK God, now what" and if God would have said to me, "Just carry on like you are and at the end I will give you life", I would say , "But god what about the sin that still is inside me, what about all the hurt and pain I feel from all the pain that people gave to me, and what about all the pain I feel because of all the [people that a hurt in my life", and if God said, "Just keep carrying on like you are to the end", I would have threw that bible in the garbage and shot myself because I would know He was a fraud and He did not have the power to save any soul, and death at that time seemed greater for me than life. But that is not what happen, all through reading the old testament I was still in my sin and when I got to the place where God changed Isaacs name to ISRAEL that really interested me because I knew something about God chosen people, that He sent them into exile and promised them that in the latter days He would gather them from all the nations and bring them back to the land He gave to them and prosper them their. And I knew that Israel had become a nation again in 1948, so I wanted to learn more and already the thoughts of killing myself was gone. It was in the new testament that I asked Jesus to forgive my sin and come into my heart and change my life and in a period of 3 months He made me a new creation in Him. My wife who had divorced me also came to Jesus in a different place and we met again in that the place she was going to services and after to yrs of being friends, just friends, we remarried and we have been remarried for 30 yrs, Jesus restored our marriage, but both of us were born again in Christ our sins were forgiven, it is Christ forgiving your sins that are important, and once you are born again sin no longer resides inside you and because you are a new creation in Christ and He has made you a new man in Him, you do not have to forgive yourself, because He forgave you. And you might look back and have regret for your past and even try as far as it is up to you make things right for the sins of your past, but for certain they will not be something that controls you because you have been born again in Christ Jesus. Just like the apostles when Jesus called them they left everything to follow Him. And when you receive Jesus you will leave that old sinful life behind you and you will never have to worry about forgiving yourself because it is Jesus who has forgiven you and you are a new man washed clean in the blood of Jesus and by the Holy Spirit that now indwells you , you have been set free from your sin, and a sinless man has ne need to forgive himself. God Bless you!!!

Man this was a good topic! I was raised A.O.H.C.O.G.I.C (Apostolic. Holiness. Church. Of. God. In. Christ) where they taught the word of how you should live and practiced how you should serve as Jesus and his disciples did literally and coming from a single parent household my mom reiterated "why" based on our environment and how we lived through different struggles to be thankful and always seek him (Phil. 4:11-12). About the church attire: I like what Brandin and Caleb said "Come as you are but don't stay as you are" If your heart intention is for God to change you and he will start from the inside out. I understand your clothing is gonna be what it is as you come in but some alterations can be made so that your attire wont be so distracting. If a person choose to continue to wear such clothing attire knowing the attention it brings being mindful of their body type in such attire, then it reflects their true heart desire whether in public or private (Mark 4:22)

Hi @albertorivera3996, Thanks for your question. Yes that would be shacking. If you are staying in the same house with the opposite sex and you are having relations with them, and not under the covenant of marriage, that would be shacking. Congratulations on committing your life to Christ and baptism. You should pursue marriage if you are serious about your commitment to Christ and your relationship with this lady.
