Thank you for this video. You've convinced me not to bother getting one of these contraptions. Dough, flour, and a knife. All I need!
No wonder they cost so much! They should!😮
Thank you! This is an awesome video! Beginner here.
I'm glad you like it. There are also some free previews of my classes on the Craftcast You Tube channel. www.youtube.com/@CraftcastwithAlisonLee Welcome to the polymer clay rabbit hole!
This video was a great help! Thank you!! It didn't go as smoothly as you make it look but I'm sure I'll get better with practice now I know what I'm doing :D Thanks again x
I'm glad it helped. You will get better. The painter's tape trick helps a lot.
Pude rearmar la máquina, gracias a este video!!! Gracias!!
excelente!❤
I contacted her and asked her if she could make a machine in pink and she's working on it I'm so excited by the end of this month I have my clickaslice and it will be pink. Me, my craft room and my clay are going to be so in love with this machine LOL
That is fabulous! You are going to love it.
Where can i purchase this?
I agree with everyone else. thank you so much, Mags. And thank you for not wasting a bunch of time talking and showing every single detail in real time. Opening only half the machine and using painters tape was genius. I also love that tiny hammer. I’m gonna get one today!
I'm glad it helped you. And, yes, that hammer is awesome. I use it all the time!
Best Video so far. Always wondered why no one just open the Maschine..
Thanks! Glad it was of help to you.

Really Honey. It isn't your fat fingers that are the problem. It is a stupid design. Who would make kitchen equipment that costs $75 and can't be easily cleaned?? And this is a classic design that hasn't changed in decades!
Thanks! I'm pretty sure they never expected the machine to be used for anything other than pasta dough. 😄
I'm only using it for pasta dough. Small bits get caught up at the edges, fall into the machine and dry out. It rattles about like a baby's toy. I'm trying to shake them out but no luck. @@MagsBCreations

Does anyone knows how to remove the part of the other side where you can switch how tight is to adjust it ?
I can't help with that. I think I tried it once many moons ago and couldn't put it back together right.
Putting this piece of shit back together is the absolute worst , every time I almost had it together it would just fall apart. After an hour I brought it outside and just smashed it with a sledgehammer.
This demo was extremely helpful. I teach in a 55+ community, and it's tough for some older folks to slice consistently. It would be much better than slicing freehand, maybe not perfect like a lucy slicer, but great for our community. And not so expensive that it's out of the budget for the senior community.
Yes, it would be perfect for that. It is pretty accurate. And I have sliced canes very thin with it.
Great demo! I hadn’t seen this slicer before. With a birthday coming up in August I know what to put at the top of my list! Thank you for sharing!
It is very new. I saw it a a retreat in February.
I did'nt see you put back the cover.
Hi Samuel! I don’t put the fenders back on. It makes it easier to clean the rollers. They really serve no purpose.
I removed both sides of the bottom part of my Amaco pasta machine. I can't get to the screw to assemble one side of the bottom of the machine, the side with the dial that sets the size of the roll that has numbers starting from 9 to 1 because it's built over the screw. The problem is i can't screw the bottom back because they have screw threads on the inside , it looks like a hexagon ring and i can't thread them back from the outside unless i disassemble the sides first then screw them back from the inside then pop the outside sides back on..
I'm a bit confused about what you have done. You didn't need to take off both sides of the base. The side with the dial doesn't need to be touched to clean the machine. And it causes problems like you are experiencing when you do so. If you could send me some pictures of what you have done I will try to help you get it back together. Email me at Mags@MagsBonham.com.
@@MagsBCreations I never disassembled them before but decided to gamble with it because either way overtime id have to buy another one anyway because of all the clay build up, and my white clays were starting to get streaks of mucky colors added in and i constantly have to stop through each roll to scrape out the extra colors. I didn't look at tutorials because it looked simple with all the screws, but i didn't realized that there would be lugs on the inside of the machine that keeps the whole thing together.
@@MagsBCreations Right now i got the side without the dial open and i can close it because its a longer screw that goes right through to the other side, no lugnuts on the inside of that part on the sides, they're only on the inside bottom base. It's back together but it's not perfect because i still cant open the dial end but i don't think i want to anyway as long as i can still use the machine and i think i can. Only one end is screwed back but the other end only has 1 screw holding it together but the screw is more "stuck" in place rather than screwed in because it's tight so it's not necessary, it feels sturdy enough so i'm not bothered by it. The rubber grips are now there to keep the machine from moving too much. I think ill keep it this way with only one end back together and the other end being held in place so when i need to clean it again ill just take it apart and only reattach one end.
@@MagsBCreations I don't have a phone the one i could use belongs to my brother and he's out right now.

the sharp edges go towards each other
How do you realign the rollers if you know?
Hi Andrew! If you apply the painters tape around the rollers & blades you shouldn't have any issues aligning the rollers. If I'm not reading your question correctly, please let me know.
Is this a Marcato Atlas 150?
I made this many years ago when I was buying up older machines on Ebay for a class. Not sure if it is a 150, but pretty sure it was an Atlas
Vous avez oublier de remettre les capots de finition !!!
I leave them off to make them easier to clean. (Je les laisse de côté pour faciliter leur nettoyage.)
This is just what I needed! I was given this same pasta machine for my birthday this month but it didn't come with cleaning instructions, so thank you soooo much!
Wonderful tutorial! Do you sell the stl file for your cutter?
I don't sell them. But if you would like the file I can send it to you. Just email me your email address and I'll send it out to you. Mags@MagsBonham.com
Hello, my blades got dented... May I ask the question, do the blades are identical (same bend degree?) or are they bent at a little different angles? Thanks!
nah ok, my pasta roller is just cheap shit, my blades are like 0.3mm thick aluminium, so I can dent it using only my hands. Poor thing I got it as the birthday present :D
This video was super helpful to learn how to take apart and put back together my pasta machine. I had the pin clips that others seemed to also have questions about. Here is a video that helps understand the pasta machines that use the hair pin for assembling the blades! ua-cam.com/video/wKR44OLqFoY/v-deo.html
I'm glad the video helped and you were able to find one with the pins. I have never seen one like that where the fettuccine & spaghetti cutters were attached. Thanks for posting that link.
I have already sanded down the blades and the housing underneath. Sharp enough to cut you to the bone. Can't expect much for $20.
Be careful Michael!
@@MagsBCreations I permenetly removed the side pieces. Easier to clean.
Hii, what can i do if my pasta machine is loose
what part of the machine is loose?
@@MagsBCreations handle. When it was new i had to put little force on handle to slide the clay but now it is loose

Hi Mags! Thanks for your video! What is that band you put on the original Chomas engraver and why? Why don't you also use it on the precision tool? Have you ever tried using the engraving tool on baked clay?
You are welcome! Those are rubber bands for babies' hair. I am using it to better control the depth that the tool is engraving. You may not need to do that depending on the thickness of your clay. I'm not using it on the precision tool because it is cutting through the clay. At times I also use it if either tool is dragging across the clay when moving around the clay. It is really a case by case situation. I have use the engraving tool on baked clay. I feel I get a better result engraving it raw. The baked clay puts more stress on the tool holder.
@@MagsBCreations Thank you!! ❤
which model is this?
I believe this one is an Atlas. Atlas & Marcato are basically the same machine and come apart the same way.
Thank you very much for this video
you need open the other side, to clean the gears
Hi Daniel, I used to do both sides as well. But, I don't recommend that for most people as it is more difficult to do that and put it back together. And I really wouldn't want most people to mess around with the gears. If there are viewers out there who want to do this and feel confident doing it, then go for it. Thanks for your input.
Yasss! This helps immensely! Thanks so much for posting!! Can’t wait to use my templates I got from your shop! This will be a game changer:)
Hi Mags! When you took the excess clay off, were the cuts pretty clean or did you have to clean up the edges a little bit?
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on this. Just what I was looking for.
So helpful. Thank you xx
Mags, I just bought a used Atlas 150 from someone selling on Marketplace (for $15!). It's a real one, LOL, (made in Italy) but it was used for pasta making and doesn't look like it was cleaned much. Do you think this will get it cleaned enough, just by taking it apart as you've described and cleaning it, or would I have to take the other side off too to be able to get everything clean enough to use for polymer clay? I know you've mentioned in the comments that you can't take the other side off. Thanks for this video!
I think you will be fine with just a regular cleaning. The pasta dough will probably just flake off. If there are any rusty spots I would clean that up with some extra fine steel wool. The gear side is most probably not affected.
@@MagsBCreations Great! Thank you so much :)

не уверен насчет вашего комментария. но шестерни на другой стороне I hope this translates correctly. Google translate said you didn't like that the gears were not shown. However, the gears are on the other side that we don[t take apart.
I hope this Google translation is correct: Да, качество очень важно. Металлические шестерни намного лучше. У Atlas & Marcato обычно есть металлические шестерни и скребки. У более дешевых брендов есть пластиковые шестерни и скребки, и они не прослужат так долго. Не рекомендую снимать бок с шестернями. Вам нужно снять только одну сторону, чтобы очистить, а сторону ручки легче всего разобрать и собрать. Yes, quality is very important. Metal gears are far superior. Atlas & Marcato usually have metal gears and scrapers. Cheaper brands have plastic gears and scrapers and won't last as long. I don't recommend taking off the side with the gears. You only need to take off one side to clean and the handle side is the easiest to disassemble and reassemble. Translation of reply above by Google: "It is very important what quality of the gears in the apparatus. It says a lot about the device itself. You look at the gear block and you immediately understand what to expect. And it would help to make a choice. I chose the Marcato Atlas 180 because I saw this I would like everyone who happens to disassemble the device to show important aspects .."
Genius! Your video helped me so much. Ty
I am glad it helped you!
Very helpful!
I am glad it helped.
Thank you so much for all your Silhouette videos, Mags! I'm entertaining the idea of getting a Curio to cut polymer clay. I make miniatures of tile patterns and I was wondering, would the Curio be able to cut super small pieces, like 1/16 inch pieces?
I'm glad to be of help. 1/16 inch might be a bit too small to get a good cut. But if you are doing tile miniatures you might be able to cut a bigger square and engrave/score the lines for the tiles. Anything that is less than a 1/4" tends to get pulled up by the blade and messed up and/or messing up the other cuts.
@@MagsBCreations Thank you for your super quick reply! That's what i was afraid of and it totally makes sense. Thank you also for the tips! Just joined your facebook group as well :)
This is a HUGE PIA ! Buy the IMPERIA ITALIAN machine, EASY blade removal for blade cleaning !! $50 to $75 total !
I have never seen an Imperia with removable blades. I ordered one a few years ago with the motor and I returned it. It was full of plastic parts and the motor didn't feel secure enough for clay. Because of that experience I wouldn't recommend them. You can get an Atlas/Marcado that is modified to have removable blades from Mona Kissel. www.monakissel.com/toolspasta.html
@@MagsBCreations Been using it for months, works great. And only has two plastic parts, the blades. No problems whatsoever and the blades come out in a snap. One screw the side cover comes off and the blades are easily accessible. Love it. Cost me $50. !
@@rterry2752 , glad you found something that works for you. Thanks for sharing the information.
I wish you had more videos using the silver bullet because i bought a 24" silver bullet with all the tools but have really just used it for vinyl because there are no videos anywhere that i can find on how to set it up to etch, engrave etc ...None that go into much detail at all....So its a bit sad that i spent so much on this and cant learn how to use it :( if i were to of bought a sillouette or a cricket then there are tons of videos i could learn from . Would you have any suggestions where i might be able to learn to do the engraving and etching etc? I tried the learning center but people just mostly talk on there and I need learning videos so bad.
Hi Tammy! I started teaching how to cut polymer clay on the Silhouette machines soon after I got my SB and really haven't delved much into all the other things that it can do. You are right, there aren't a lot of videos online. I only use it now on a few of my items. And got a Glowforge laser LY which engraves materials that would be harder to do on the SB, so not much incentive for me to get deeper into the SB. I can help you with the polymer clay settings. But for the other materials I am at as much of a loss as you are.
@@MagsBCreations how kind of you to take the time to reply. I certainly have been excited to try with clay as well...I have plenty of premo to play with...I sa on one video where to take the clay sheets that are ready to cut like you do BUT bake them for just a little bit before cutting them...This makes sense and I was going to try that possibly today. Have you tried that? Also I am going to check out the Glowforge laser right now as well...Do you really like it?
@@tahomyjo I did some testing on cutting baked clay and it is doable. It just depends on the project. The items I make using the SB need to be pliable so I cut raw clay the most. If you pre-bake the clay you pretty much have to use it flat. I like my GF a lot.
@@MagsBCreations I never looked at it that way about having to keep it flat!! But what about freezing it first then let in thaw just a tad before cutting? Whatcha think?
You really don't need to firm it up to cut on the SB. I tested it on both SB and Silhouette machines and never found a big difference to the result. Maybe if you live in a particularly hot/humid environment. If your clay is really gummy then you should leach it in printer paper to help draw out some of the plasticizers. The only thing that causes a bad cut is if there are air bubbles between the clay and the freezer paper. If the blade hits an air pocket it can pull up the clay and give a bad cut. If you are just cutting solid color clay, no problem, just redo.
Thanks, Mags! That took the fear out of it!
glad to hear that
Oh my cow! Thank you! This video helped me so much! I used the painter's tape to keep the gears in place until I could get everything where it needed to be. You are a life saver!
I am so happy to have been able to help you out.
My clay machine is struggling to do full rotations, my gears keep mis-aligning! Does anyone have any solutions please? I'm using the FIMO clay machine
Once the gears are stripped it is pretty hard to get it back to normal. If you have a handy person in your life they may be able to look at the gears and see if they can realign them. Going forward with your next machine (if you can't realign this one) Never use the thickest or thinnest settings to save your gears. And never try and process clay that is thicker than the second thickest setting. Either use a roller or your hands to get the clay even to the second thickest setting. Good luck.
I did a quick search through UA-cam and there are a few videos on getting to the gears and fixing/replacing them. If yours are plastic then I would contact the manufacturer and see if they sell replacement gears.
