I remember learning this piece in high school, having known nothing about the composer. I quickly found out why so many students love his works. Probably the most fun I've ever had as a violoncellist on stage.

The song is at a normal tempo, some conductors just play it at their own tempo for their own satisfaction. And for standard curriculum it's reasonable for songs like this to be played in like 8th or 9th grade
