Duke 1.5 trap (review and modifications)
One of my favorite sings lately. Can't wait for hunting season!!!
Nice
I found you can get thinner tyvek from a fabric store that won’t be as noisy in the wind.
outlaw made these first...named jenny vanes
I have Big Al's speck decoys ! Love em. I have dive bombs Canada's ! Love em
Wedge to hold your Trap in position. I attached them to my Trap Chain so I would always know where they are. Cheers
Real geese econo shadow series. Made in a the good old usa not China
Dive Bomb stakes are spring steel and when bent spring right back to shape. Does Big Al’s do this? Ithink they bend, weaken and have to be bent back.. Frozen ground bends metal stakes.
Was gonna mention the same thing big Al’s do not have spring steel which is a deal breaker for sure bent stakes is a pain in the ass
Would the big als fit in a dive bomb bag??
yes. I have mine all mixed in.
@@16colemoritz 👍🏻 thank you
Super useful review/comparison
I've hunted over both and like the dive bombs better. The big Al's really suck to put together because of how hard the stakes go into the decoys. The stakes in the dive bombs are tight but you can still move them if you want to. The notches that are cut into the dive bombs to mark where to put the stakes are nice so every decoy has the stake in the exact same place. The big Al's did not have those same notches so it was a guess to try to get the stakes to line up the same in all the decoys.
What ever you do do not buy the real geese ones they suck way to thin they bend and are very weak and the stakes rust and bend easy.
You get what you pay for lol I got some for 5$ each prefer it over anything else sense I still have school and don’t have time for a full time job
Divebomb for life!
Divebomb V2F are legit! I'll be running DB almost exclusively going forward.
Nice review thanks for making this video very helpful
This one is better no that ones better blah blah blah ... they all kill geese.. end of story
tilley Schmolph yes but some are more rugged then others
good video. If you're worried about shine mist them with some flat white primer. Nice work!
I’ve had both dive bombs all the way
From experience, the Dive Bombs are a better Silo. They look better and they dont seem to fade or show the plastic corregate
That is what I am starting to see with mine too. Dive bomb I feel pops a little more.
Thank you...Nice comparison. You should also be able to confirm that the Big Al's stakes are a bit thicker as well, and don't slide up and down in the silo. Check that out to verify sometime. Sincerely, Big AL.
Thanks
Sliding is caused by not aligning the holes as you set them up. I have big als that slide all the time bc my 10 yr old nephew set them up, he went with the easier slide. This is a bs argument.
D Swen was getting to that the stake is a bit thicker on the BA...so no sliding. Fact
@@dswen417 your 10 year old set them up that’s why
What kind of stencil do you use to make your wind sock decoys..and from where do you get them???
I made a aluminum one anything works for one
Ok would I be able to buy one from eBay
You can look and see what you can find I only have the one and won't be able to make more
No clutch?
Dude did you not notice how bad these shine. These will have geese flarring all day.
What kind of paper is it?
Nice video!
If you pull the rubber o ring off there are 2 small silver screws yiu can take out and remove the black plastic piece that locks into the headlight. Then you can put the retainer ring thing on then re install the black plastic piece with the o ring. Little late now that you cut it but if you got new rings that’s a way to do it in the future without cutting. Took me a good week of Messin with leds to figure it out myself.
Devin Henry thanks man
nice crappies.. i subbed .. please sub back.. trying to make the 1000 sub cutoff. thanks... nice song!!
OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!
Dang nice Hunt
Tying the trap off is not necessary, since the trap spring is over the wooden stake and the stake is in the ground. This setup is very simple, fast, and can be pre-baited. It requires only three things; the trap, bait, and stake. Simply pre-mount the trap on the stake and pre-bait on the trigger wires, set the trap at the site and push in the stake...done. I use these too. Cheap and fast. I can do everything at home before I hit the water. Also, try multiple traps on one stake.
MyUA-camChannel I like the idea of multiple traps on a stake! I think the hole and wire helps if you don’t wanna have to reach all the way done to get the trap/rat
Sub for a sub??
Just subscribed to you
Subed u back
Not a bad video. Did you ever put actual baseplates with D-rings on them with some good #3 chain? Maybe night latch the pans? Or did you ever really get into trapping?
Congrats on the win!
It was a great contest I subbed to your channel and congrats on the win!
Thanks buddy...Enjoy...
Nice pile of fish, ice fishing is on my bucket list......not to much ice in western Oregon
Looks like some nice fish there!.....Where is this?
Cool man ice fishing for me this has been crap
nice crappies!
Looked like a fun time Cole...You guys have just as much ice if not a few inchs more than we do here...We have more snow on the ice and it's pretty slushy on some lakes here...
Moving the chain from the side of the trap to the middle is a completely pointless thing to do. Will cause more troubles than anything. Need some more swivels on that chain also.
Those mods are cool
I agree with you on the cheap part and if you are starting off trapping that these are good traps to do it with...If you decide to stay trapping you upgrade to a better brand of traps like Bridger...
Nice video but i dont like your opionion on them
very cool...never seen anything like it before...
I use round poles and I wrap with wire or drive a nail to hold the trap in place,,but square wood will work to.

Nice job Cole...I'm heading out to make a weasel set video right in about 20 minutes once my camera is charged...
Nice looking box Cole...I'm going to do a weasel trapping video the way I do it here in the next week...You may have seen it or maybe not...It will blow your mind and your weasel catch will go up a lot...
