I have just started a similar pattern to the Jelly Roll, it’s the free Purl Soho “Color Brick Road” blanket. Pattern is sparse, but it’s giving me the squish I’m looking for.

Love your gadget for twisting up the yarn skeins - so clever!! I know exactly what you mean about the kids bedtimes. My boy takes ages to fall asleep and sometimes it's after 9 by the time I'm done with bedtime! And then of course I the up staying up far too late to get everything done!

Hi Laura, it's lovely to see your gorgeous smiling face. I hope you are feeling much better soon. I don't like all of the bugs that go around at this time of year. Look after yourself, rest up when you can. I didn't get an advent this year either, I still have three purchased ones that I have not even started as well as two swaps that I also have not used. When I finish my colourwork sweater I need to cast one on. I love them all. ☺️ I still have both of my sets from the lay family yarn retreats as well! 😅

I think what gets me with knitting the advent at the time of opening is the price, like it has to be ‘worthy’ of the price you have paid. And then over time, it kinda wears off and you get a little less precious.

I have Helen’s advent too. So pleased with the candle but I can’t bear to light it ! I tried to get Hogfather on kindle but could t get it. What did you download. There appears to be a series 😂. Love your podcasts

Yay, Ellie likes my gnome! She is so much like my youngest and I know they're the same age, but it was still surprising. Is your companion colour maybe an indigo? I read a bicycle and I know how you feel about cowls, they're so necessary. It's nice that Ellie said you're going trick or treating and no one is going to bite her head off for using the American-ism - Scottish people can be intense about the whole calling it Guising thing. It was super warm here in northern-ish Scotland - I'm always cold but I went out in a t-shirt and leggings and I wasn't cold. Of course it's currently 0 and dropping, but it was weirdly warm then. Mind you, last year it was a frigid downpour, so this was definitely better. I love the look of your merino floof and hope to get some in the near future. I am so excited about your advent calendar, can't wait for Sunday. And the chaos works really well with the way my brain works.

Hi Laura, well done on the blanket it's lovely. I loved the end of the video when (I think your son was refusing food but saying he was hungry) just such a typical life with children moment. Haha. I know how that is. I'm sorry you had the experiance with the rude person who grabbed you but am glad you are OK. You look amazing as always. X

From one zebra to another I'm so sorry that you had one of "those" interactions with someone. They are so hard and are so invasive, I still find it beyond belief that people feel they have the right to demand information from someone which they would never share. I hope you become as medically stable as we can get, and that you have found some rest time in all of the catching up. Your new blanket looks amazing and snuggly without being to heavy, I may have to add one to my to make list. Sending an EDS friend hug 🤗 Thank you for the video😊

Great to see you Laura - well all three of you! And well done Ellie! I’ve been trying to teach my 9 yr old granddaughter to knit and the restraint it takes me at times not to snatch the needles away and rock on with it myself! But she’s getting there. Lots of good words there Laura and you just make sure you take good care of yourself you fab lady! 😘

Hey Laura, first, your crochet blanket is amazing and I am so chuffed for you that you got it finished! that must be feel so good, every time you look at it, knowing you dyed those colours and you loved making it and got it done. Do you think that's one of the ways the. ADHD medication helping? I'm really sorry to hear you're feeling nauseous and having pain and hyper mobility issues. I have a few friends with Crohns and/or EDS and both conditions are rough - experiencing symptoms like both of those has got to be a lot to deal with while being a parent, especially over summer holidays, and running three small businesses. I had noticed that your body looks like it's been changing but didn't feel up to asking gently if it was intentional or if it was a symptom of something that you might appreciate virtual support in dealing with but commenting on someone else's body, even with someone you know very well is fraught. I wasn't sure I could convey in text, to a person with whom I have a parasocial relationship, that my curiosity was based in care and support not voyeurism so I kept it to myself. That's a lot about me when what I'm trying to say is that I see you, I care about you, I support you, and I admire how gracious you're being about someone who physically assaulted you, demanded private medical information, and then slandered you. Holey mothballs.

Oh Laura why do people feel they can just ask such personal questions. Yes some who have known you for a while ( I came to you at start of new podcasts) May have been worried something wrong. It can be coached in nice terms of concern. Jamie Theakton got asked by some of his listeners to get his voice checked as did Helen Mary Jo. This was pure concern. Not noisiness which then turns to scorn that you are lying. Look after yourself and lovely family. Really enjoy watching you videos xx

I’ve just pre-ordered 3 skeins and I can’t wait to receive them! 🤗 I absolutely love Tim burton movies, so I had to order the Edward scissor hands inspired colourway as pink and black are my favourite colours! As well as Corpse bride and nightmare before christmas inspired ones… I’ve got some cowls in mind to make with each skein ☺️

So wonderful to see your smiling face again Laura! I am loving all the crochet squares and can't wait to see them all finished. Absolutely love the Tim Burton inspired collection too. In he last few weeks that I've been in Scotland I found that the shops don't close at the usual 4pm I'm used to on a Sunday and instead most supermarkets are open till 8pm which baffles me. Ellie's videos have been wonderful too and looking forward to her next drop on the site as I didn't manage to get any last time x
