A Finn here. I couldn't agree more about the coffee after lunch, it's consistently my favorite moment of the day. Also our two 10-20 minute daily breaks at work in Finland are literally called coffee breaks (kahvitauko)

You could do The same about Helsinki 1940 to 1952 Olympic Games ! The Stadium was build ready for 1940 Games - but IT took 12 long years to host The Games ! The torch was given to Helsinki at Berlin 1938 Games - but what happened then... 12 years IS a long time to stay in shape and some didn't Make IT - at ALL !

I think a bit of Finnish coffee culture has been lost with the filter coffee. In the 50's it took at least some work to get a good cup of coffee. First to get the cream (people didn't use milk), you had to milk the cow and use a separator. Then you had to grind the coffee beans yourself. Then boil them in the coffee pot. So the coffee had much more fats and flavor on it. You would pour the coffee from your cup to a plate, put a piece of sugar between your teeth and slurp coffee through it. This is how my grandparents still drunk it (except they didn't milk the cow anymore...) Pastries, cookies and pulla played a big part of the experience. Filter coffee isn't bad, but it isn't quite the same.

I'm happy that you look up that spot, to really feel the weather and wind and each nuance of the nature!
