Dear Upstream Online, My name is Ava Kuo, a Taiwan-based producer. I am currently working on a documentary film for Discovery channel, we would like to explore the possibility to use this footage for the documentary. Could we establish contact with you?
OMG
.
Hammer to crack a nut
As a fan of large ships and engineering projects, this was really great to see!
Fun fact. Im at this moment on that ship in Netherlands 😃
made in germany!
incredible engineering.
CovidImages need to be invested more than half19
Did that for Thirty Years
1.4 billion USD worth of platform that never was used due to incompetent engineering. If you were involved in building of this project, keep it away from your CV.
I cant wait to be joining this vessel this summer. I’m so excited to start my career on a vessel as amazing as the Pioneering Spirit.
GL out there
Ok, wise guy. What about the legs left behind? They just remain there as hazards to shipping? What happens to those? Put up caution tape and leave?
They'll be cut and removed by a different crew
Classic example of using a sledge hammer to crack a nut!
Proved in Glasgow in 1988. Detailed in Montrose in 1995. Built in Cimc raffles , China in 2021, Congratulations CNOOC for building the worlds first semisubmersible with storage for 400,000 barrels of condensate.
Clear evidence that the fossil fuels industry is here to stay.
Fascinating!
Incroyable !!!!
Hello! Would it be possible to obtain the original video? To discuss further please contact me at alessia.camoirano@britesparkfilms.com
Hi there, I’m Abraham, work for a production company, and might be looking to use this video of yours. Do you own it? Many thanks! Abe
It is made in korea .
can workers stay on the platform while it's being removed?
kara_ara to much internet for you today....
@@ritid69 i have no idea how i ended up here lmao

The most amazing vessel on this planet. Wow.
Excelente. Ya 😎 👍
Wouldn't you think that on a boat where weight isn't an issue that they would overbuild it by a factor of like... 10?
Biggest swimming crane in the world lifts 20000 t with 2 cranes and therefore 10000t per crane. There are physical limits and also have you heard about money?
So this wasn't designed this way.
back to the drawing board!
Why do you like those who like this
Lifting hook quality fail
ua-cam.com/video/LSifi_07Adk/v-deo.html
ale urwał,,
So many experts here :-D
This will ruin Liebherr's reputation
A "Made in China" crane, what do you expect?
actualy it is made in germany
Bullshit
Apparently, the part that failed was purchased for a slightly lower price from China.
Dude its Germany made
Just some info: It was not the crane which failed or broke by itself but the test weight failed. This was a maximal weight test with a 5000 tons weight. All was going fine but then the attachment of the weight block broke and released the test weight accidently and at once. What we see here is what would happens to every crane of the world, which lifts 5000 tons and/or its maximal weight limit and that weight got instantly released when the crane is still under full load. Like a whip, the steel of the crane was swinging back and because it was a maximal load test, that whip effect was going far, far over the maximal limits. Its then unavoidable and in fact its the #1 reason beside going over maximal load that cranes crash. Lifting 5000 tons is never without risk, if something goes wrong then it will do damage.
Liebherr stated that the hook failed at 2600 t test load
The hook is gone how do you explain that ?
The test load was 2600 MT, the hook parted from the main lifting beam at the swivel bearing, no further details available. If you look closely the video, you can see the beam but no hook.
You are mistaken
why ?
Ooooops
Qualitätsstahl aus China 😂
Liebherr supplied the ship’s crane and said in March that the unit, which features a 145-metre boom, is the largest ever built by the company. This is Made in Germany.
@@LittleFangMeow The failing hook was delivered by a Dutch company.
Schwachsinn du Experte
Tja, Kranplätze müssen verdichtet sein
Ich danke dir vielmals für diesen Kommentar. Lang nich so schön gelacht. xD
Look how close that block comes to the operator's cabin 6 seconds in. Terrifying
at second 5 we can see the test barge, but it looks like there is no shackles and slings connected to the eye plates ?
LOL!))
So ist es.
@M. Woller Liebherr SMM-Team erkannt! :)
Same origin as Corona
Corona came from Germany ?
I was here before 1.000.000 views.
you'll be lucky if it makes it to a million. nobody cares about this shit.
Rumors spread, the phone is still ringing
Deutsche Gründlichkeit: they did some proper testing. But what were the test results?
staalman pass
"Erste Hinweise deuten auf den Kranhaken hin, der nicht von Liebherr kommt. Angeblich stammt er von Cosco" (China) ^^ Zu viel von Ausserhalb machen lassen.
@@Nightcrasher94 Der Kranhaken wurde von einem "Dritten" geliefert
@@Nightcrasher94 dann zeig mir einen Kranbauer der die Haken selbst fertig .
Where's the rest of the footage?
I agree it was about to get real. You recon some lines broke?
5 people hurt and a 5,000T crane destroyed wasn't about to get real it was literally worst case scenario outside of turning the barge over. Based on my experience as a crane operator both on dry land and in the marine environment I'm thinking that either the rigging to the proof load failed or the hoist line did. I'm more inclined to think that the rigging failed though as the block was still hanging out. However without the footage from before where this clip starts it's really impossible to be sure.
@@TheEagleJax Cause of the accident seems to be that the hook broke. The footage is from a passer-by which started only filming into the accident.
@@TheEagleJax that respectfully is what that meant. Getting real is about the true loss. Very sad to that happen
