Love Has Broken Down the Wall (Mark Miller)
This is being sung much more legato than intended. It's been several years but I believe this was supposed to be much more staccato. There are better versions on UA-cam if you look around.
Wow!!!wow!!I'm bleesed💖
❤❤❤❤❤
8:00 A young Robert Simpson at his prime. Oh ye gods and little fishes. The ring in that man's voice!
Wow!
Most beautiful.
Thank you for posting this!
Love this music, my dad sang in a group call Echoes from Jordon and they sang every one of these songs under the direction of Eugene Jones and they even traveled singing these songs ❤️
Thanks, Adam, for posting, THIS was MY Commencement - May 1983. Memories...
My sister was in Choir in high school in the mid 1970s and they got to participate in a mass choir of several high schools' choirs, her director was a friend of Mr Hairston and Mr Hairston arranged and conducted several of his songs in a special Christmas concert. My first concert attended.
Excellent!
Now they ain't destroying blowing out any more voices or insinuating inappropriate relationships with students. Rider is America. Fuck religion, fuck the American choral singing tradition. Racists WCC RIDER **** win!
OMG! My Chapel Choir sang this as well! What an amazing anthem.
I need an album of all of these on spotify….
I still come back and listen to this 2 or 3 times a year...wonderful HS choir memories 🥰🥰
Brings back some great memories, thank you kindly!
Certainly dispells the dark. Apprecuated having this today. And the added blessing of that service in memory of Dr. Alex.
AMEN!
🌞🌙✨
So glad you posted this song. My wife and I sang this in our Geneva College choir circa 1974. Great truth. Great choral arrangement. Classic.
This is wonderful. Why haven't more people heard this?
I first sang this piece in September 1959, as a boy chorister at St Georges Chapel, Windsor Castle, under the choirmaster Sir William Harris. It's as fresh now as it was then, 65 years later.
Song name?
Thanks for posting this. Having these old recordings are worth their weight in digital gold.
Admirable performance! Great choral piece!
Amen sounds like men. Maybe I won't commit suicide today.
Space and Bones.
This is glorious! So far above the norm for choral singing -- but standard for so many years at Westminster. This is what Gregory Dell'Omo worked to end in favor of the mediocracy of Ryder College/University.
Absolutely Glorious!
Oh my god thay just brought me back to singing in the choir in high school. This was my favorite of all thr songs we sang
Our church choir is doing this fantastic song!!
She was pleasantly mediocre.
We recorded this in the Playhouse at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. We all went to the Rocky Hill Inn after the last session.
My first year it was the opening hymn at the first Chapel Service of the year. By the second verse I was in a puddle of ecstatic tears! Still does it to me!
Had to stop what I was doing and turn the volume up! 🥺🥰🥲 ‘70
That hymn still gives me goosebumps.
How refreshing to.hear these wonderful words in these troubled times, and to the CORRECT TUNE !
This album is a true gem among choir recordings. Never may it be lost.
One of the best performances of these arias.
AMAZING pianist!! Thank you for sharing. 🙂🙂🙂🙂
I've been looking for this for awhile -- thank you for uploading!
Adam, I am so grateful that you shared recordings from Princeton High School, especially "my" era (like this one).
Stand up, folks!
My favorite hymn in the whole world! Even if that is only because of _Davey & Goliath_ .
The Little Rascals brought me here!
He looks like the old guy from Amen
That is him! Jester Hairston was a composer and an actor! He played Rolly Forbes on AMEN! His choral arrangements and compositions are EXCELLENT!
She was a terrible singer.
Not at all true. Shame on you.
@@rah62 Who are you? Who do you want to be? You have the brain of the last raisin in the box. This is a review by Paul Hume of the Washington Post on the alleged singer: "Miss Truman is a unique American phenomenon with a pleasant voice of little size and fair quality - (she) cannot sing very well - is flat a good deal of the time-more last night than at any time we have heard her in past years - has not improved in the years we have heard her - (and) still cannot sing with anything approaching professional finish." Other critics agreed. You know nothing about singing or music in general. Get lost, Karen.
@@rah62 Grew up surrounded by opera. This is horrifying.
Rizzinomics
We sang this arrangement at my high school in 1975 (and years before that...and years after that... for all I know they still sing it!) Anyway, the joke in the choir was that you had to sing the Wilhousky arrangement of Battle Hymn as a graduation requirement!!
Beautiful
