I got introduced to Folk Irish songs in the year 2000 through a cassette titled THE RARE OLD TIMES I have rediscovered most of the songs in that tape, but I still seek one , I don't know the title but I remember the tune, and the lyrics

There was two ways that got sung the most famous one when pearse connelly and all the men and women was in the GPO 1916 padraic pearse changed a few words in the song it was the rolling cry off the men in the GPO

Not Irish so take it with a grain of salt, but it's supposed to be something of a rallying cry. The hook translates to "Oro, welcome home, now that summer's come". It's an old old song, and sings of Bonnie Prince Charles after his defeat, and subsequent exile from England after the '45, and (again not 100% on this) the hope he'd return and banish the foreigners (British) from Ireland. Any are free to correct me on this.

This is an absolutely amazing version of this song. This is how it's meant to be played
I agree. It's a story, and in this version you can hear every word clearly. Some of the other versions are played too fast and the story gets lost in the music.
Do they teach Irish and songs like this at school in Ireland? I hope they do - it would be a shame to lose any of it to the passage of time
