Crazy Taxi - Crazy Turn w/ Barrier Boost and Input Display
To do the out of bounds clip also known as "barrier boost", you need to be driving at high speed to the point where you can see little sparks flying off the back of your cab.
Do a limiter cut on the straight away, then just before the fence to your left stops, hold a hard drift where you continue holding the drive gear, accelerator, and left direction. If you run in to the wall with the back corner of your cab you should clip through. This only works in a specific section of wall right at the beginning of the next straight away where the texture changes from solid gray to stripped.
So the inputs are:
Limiter cut (reverse, drive + accelerate)
Crazy Drift (reverse then drive quickly, and hold drive while also holding analog stick left and accelerate)
You will often be stuck in the wall on the other side and need to switch between gears to break free.

(20170219 Reupload) The Italian Crazy Taxi Dub makes up for the awful motion blur and bloom effects. Ignore the splits, they were used against a different level order and are meaningless. I also had to correct the end time as Crazy Taxi 3 speedruns end upon the screen where you unlock all cabbies and not on the last New record message.
Crazy Taxi 2 - Crazy Pyramid in 18:06 (WR)

Good improvement in level 1-1 was really all this run needed for a new world record in Crazy Pyramid. I lost some time in 5-4, 4-4, 2-1, and S-S so a sub-18 minute speedrun is a good goal to strive for and should be within reach soon.

*Updated WR here* ua-cam.com/video/rIs-JqNiRPw/v-deo.html After 4 long years, a tied world record in Crazy Taxi 2. It's definitely improvable, but getting good times in 1-1 and S-S is not easy. This may take some time to beat, but sub 18 minutes should be within reach.
Bound (PS4) Any% - 26:07
Переглядів 2725 років тому
A new Shout Fear skip in Pearls has created a big route change to the Any% category. This has caused the new fastest level order to become: Chess, Pearls, Steam, Shout, Trees, Planes, Finale. There are 3 new skips in this new route. 2 in Pearls, and 1 in the Beach hubworld at the stairs. With these skips and the new route ~22seconds were saved from the old route. There is roughly another 30-40 ...

Real time for the run is 44:50. Awesome to see this category get such a low time. I won't spend as much time optimizing this route as Any%, but I can clearly improve. I missed the cutscene skip in Planes and Shout had a mediocre performance.

Old World Record from 7/8/2018. Run time is 28:30 in real time with loads. This was a good run with an updated route of Steam, but due to some hard landings in Trees and Planes this could be improved by another ~15 seconds with some effort.

Hey chuckles825 Do you Upload Crazy Taxi Records
All this for a bike
Is Gena the meta for Crazy X? I'm gonna speedrun this mode tomorrow
Actually, is there a way to beat the Crazy Tour with a faster time? Maybe 6'55"xx or 6'56"xx?
Why did you pick Gus in Crazy Taxi 1 and Hot-D in Crazy Taxi 2 and here Gena and not them? They don't have the same handling like before?
There are a few differences between cabs. In CT1 Gena/Gus are slightly smaller than Axel/BD Joe which can make cutting through traffic or making sharp turns a little easier. Gus also seems to have a heavier cab that prevents you from getting knocked around easily by other cars. Some people will say there are also differences in acceleration and top speed, but I haven't really seen that to be true in practice. I haven't tested the differences in CT2 and 3, but I think they are more consistent in those games and it's more of a personal preference.
I don't know ever exist the italian version of this game🤔

@@chuckles825 Damn, that was some good italian coming from a translator. The version you ordered was the FX Interactive version? They were known for publishing a lot of games here in Italy and Spain, mostly RTS like Cossacks,Men of War or Imperivm but sometimes they also published some FPS like Call of Juarez or Black Hawk Down.
@@ZioMcCall Thanks! I used the DeepL translator which is pretty good for European languages. Yes my disc is the FX Interactive version. Surprised to see they are still publishing games.
As I ran this game, there was no consistent tutorial on how to do this clip. Now finally there is. I hope I can pull it off in runs consistently.

I hope you managed that sub-18 at some point, nice skills.
For the life of me I cannot beat 1-S

Wow. That is crazy right there. Congratulations on getting the 1st Place WR.
I can't get past some of these, I looked it up and I found this video and for some reason your car is way faster then mine, I switched to the same character but it didn't matter. What's the issue here?
Expecially 2G and 2A. On 2G my car does not keep that much momentum on the drif I don't know how the hell you are doing that. on 2A I spam the sprint and even if I go in almost a straitgh line i always run out of time. It's not a question of skill it's a question of the car being to slow. And I tried your cabbie just in case but that's not it. This is so frustrating
I figured it out, looks like I was spriting wrong. There are 2 ways you can sprint. The first way that you can sprint is pressing drive and forward, this is a bit faster than normal driving and it was what was I using however, it's slower then the other way t o sprint. The other way is going in reverse for a second and then going in drive and pressing forward. For some reason this is faster. Wierd
Are you aware of the limiter cut? It's a technique that lets you accelerate past the normal top speed. While driving, let go of the accelerator, switch to reverse gear, then go back to drive gear and hold the accelerator again. This is why you’ll see me switching to reverse gear so often in the video. It only gives you a short boost so you have to do it continuously in a sort of rhythm every couple seconds if you want really go fast. Hope that helps!
@@chuckles825 Yeah I managed to figure that one out and I got to the last 3 stages, but man are they brutal. There's no way I'll remember where to take the body builder and where to drop him off without an arrow and that other one, 8 minute long, each time you try it it's 8 minutes.
@@demonmkd2332 Yeah it is definitely a long level. The route I use has a few shortcuts. but you really just need to practice in the arcade mode to get a better idea of the map layout.
I started playing this game for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It's brilliant. Managed to get the any% trophy a couple of days ago. Some of the moves you pull off in this run compared to a basic 42 minute route I took are just absolutely batshit crazy to a casual gamer like me, I love watching speedruns.
Lol this music on this game is good
S-3 is so hard.
You are a master man. Thanks for the tips, thanks to your shorcuts I could make again all crazy modes from all 3 games.
Nice strat on the fire ring love it!
I must the strat used in 3B are amazing!

chuckles825, I DID IT! I beat the world record after following your advice! I did a 113 combo on Crazy Drift! I knew that it was possible even though it was just a theory, but I decided to try and follow your instructions because your videos show you are very skilled at this game and you've helped me a lot on the Crazy Taxi retroachievements challenges with your videos. Man, I've never beat anyone's world record EVER before. Thank you so much! I took a look at Crazy Taxi's speedrun site where you are a moderator, and there is no category for Crazy Box 2-1. I never did a speedrun before, but I'm curious about why there isn't a category for this. Anyway, thanks again. It only took 20 years!
Whoa congrats! I didn't expect you to get there so fast! For whatever reason the speedrun.com developers do not want to implement high scores on the website, so we don't have categories for the crazy jump, drift, and through. We do have a discord though that I'm sure would love to see this. You can join here: discord.gg/yk9XNxDGgS If you want to post this to a leaderboard the only active one I know of is cyberscore.me.uk/
@@chuckles825 Thanks again for the help! I'm gonna take a look at this.
@@chuckles825 I took a look at Cyberscore rules, and unfortunately they don't accept emulators as proof. Only "official emulators" or original hardware. I have a dreamcast, but it's broken, hence the reason I play on the emulator. Anyways, thanks again for the help. At least now people know that it's possible to achieve 113 combo.
We're tied. I've got 112 too. I wonder how many people got this 112 combo. Maybe 113 is possible? idk
Nice! Yeah a 113 might be possible, you just need a really fast start to the reverse drift. It takes ~240-250ms to increase the combo +1. To get a 113 you would need to start your combo before the Game Time hits 28 seconds remaining. It might be possible if you could start the reverse drift without bouncing around when switching gears.
@@chuckles825 Thanks! Thank you for the feedback also. I had a feeling that there was margin for improvement when I was playing, but it's so little. 250ms? Wow. I might try someday. I love this game. Your videos helped me a ton btw.
The bowling test is so frustrating... but I passed it.
I wish you could disable the awful motion blur..
Are you still alive chuckles?
What you did for the crazy through was very clever
I played this exact version of Crazy Taxi 3 as a kid, had lots of fun even with the overwhelming motion blur! I was surprised too it was dubbed in my language, the voice actors are really good and the main voice is the legendary Pietro Ubaldi. He dubbed almost everything from my childhood 😂
Aww 3:36 was such a small mess-up.

there is actually a trigger fix up now

I love that the customers in this game will sometimes clip through poles, cars, etc... just to get in or out of the car. It kinda makes sense from an animation perspective, but it is an interesting detail that I never noticed when I was playing through this game as a kid.
