    EASILY my favourite band - possibly my favourite ever at the rate things are going. They're pretty much unsurpassed in the inventiveness and creativity - particularly on their early albums. I was chuckling all the way through your reaction to the Cockroach King - partly because of the expression on your face and my knowledge of what was coming! Every single album of theirs is packed with fascinating twists, subtle elements and is basically a musical journey.

    Steven Wilson is a musical genius and I suggest that you check out his solo material and another band he was in called blackfield. He's really good friends with the singer from opus so you might want to check them out too because they do some collaborations.

    These guys were into King crimson and Pink Floyd. You can hear it in their music. In fact, their drummer, Gavin Harrison, played for King crimson in the '80s. Gavin, Harrison and Danny from tool are the Best drummers to date as far as I'm concerned.

    I was a guitar player growing up in the '70s with led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd. I learned to play all that music. Pat life goes on and the old music doesn't hit me like the new music. I love porcupine tree, tool, puscifer, Queens of the Stone age, airbag, and all of the really good bands that are out today. Old people. My age that are into the old fashioned rock and roll are boring as f***. Listen to something new people!

    I love the way you put your thoughts about songs into words so much. Your all sentences are impressive! I didn't use to have that much good thoughts about Deftones while I was listening to it first time. However I give chances to Deftones too much and now I love every single song in Around the Fur album too much!

    Wilsons back catalogue is huge and insanely varied, whether its with PT, Blackfield, solo or collaborating with others. Its also why he's the goto guy for remixes by bands a diverse as King Crimson and XTC.

    I love watching the reaction to this, of someone truly appreciating Porcupine tree for what they are and understanding what they are all about. You have said something that Steven Wilson said himself in an interview, about how he doesn't care if people are liking what he makes, he will do it the way he wants. That experimental attitude is what has made them legends and It is very nice to see it on someone else's face :D Wonderful video thank you!

    Believe it or not, they can reproduce "Arriving Somewhere But Not Here"... Just like the album.... if anything it has more colour live.... Even down to the drum pad sounds that must have been an effect in the studio.... The soundguy must have his finger over the effects button on the patch board from the drum mics...And then he has to release the effect at JUST the right moment... I can only imagine that the sound guy is doing ALL sorts of stuff here. The echoe's on Stevens voice are all there.... Everything, all the keyboard sounds from Richard at the start.. etc. The only difference live is the guitar 4 figure that is faded in at the beginning is so superbly locked in between Steven ending the figure before and the other guitarist flicking in... As you would expect from Steven, all the live audio is superb... even on youtube. Keep oin Rocking.

    I like the way that you present yours comments, I think Porcupine is always "the calm before the tempest" and sometimes "the tempest take the first place before the silence" Porcupine and friends added, a personal touch of sounds effects and moments, always something new, that let us breathe or not, in fact they are themselve a master group together, old Pink Floyd, Genesis,... reborn and this is so wonderfull !

  • @jM-yx7ii
    @jM-yx7ii Рік тому

    Thanks to yours comments, everyone finds happiness in listening to Porcupine, light or hard, moments which are calculated and well adjusted with the voice of Steven, but also in duet, the instruments, the background, the various sounds and the mixing of all these noises which plunges us into another world although all the pieces are different they are, all, more or less a masterpiece, where the ears and the smile they give us, are the only witnesses, personly I never have enough from them and like always to discover !

    I love the way this album makes you smile. PT makes me smile like this. Every album is a masterpiece that gives the feels. As an aside, if you want a heavier album that will make you smile listen to Warcrab - The Howling Silence. That is such a feel good album that will make you grin like an idiot. Throwback to old school death metal but played in a sublime way.
