I might be biased (due to the fact I have kinda serious depression, occasional suicidal ideation and almost went with a plan to kill myself a few weeks ago (prior to writing this) and I’m prolly gonna KMS in a few months anyway lmao) but my personal thoughts on the meaning of mesmerizer is thoughts is that it’s about dealing with suicide and depression and How Escapism is basically a way some people with extreme depression and suicidal thoughts resort to because they want to feel like everything is fine even tho it’s not directly speaking about it although to me it’s pretty clear that the video is about that. I also noticed that Miku and Teto act differently and I feel they both represent parts of a specific Conscience With Miku representing a Person who thinks if they pretend everything is fine and act happy even tho they are extremely depressed everything will be fine and if they keep acting like everything is okay it will be okay as for I feel like Teto represents a person who is servely Depressed and resorted to escapism or something similar to escape their problems yet is slowly realizing that they need help badly and should get it yet struggle to escape their made up fake world and get the help they need even tho they are actually genuinely trying to escape as for Miku’s Representation is a person who is basically just wants to keep living in their fake escapist world and refuses to leave or do anything to help themselves because they have completely deluded themselves into thinking they are okay and nothing bad will happen as long as they are happy and just embraces their fake world unlike Teto whom is trying to escape it. Also when Miku gets hypnotized in the OG video I feel like it’s a reference to the person who just pretends everything is fine and basically lives in their fake world finally gains the worst of the worst depression and is on the border of committing yet refuses to stop believing everything is okay and is basically damaging themselves even more emotionally by doing this.
