As a follow up I played this for the first time tonight at a friend's house. Before I left, I grabbed the board and rules from the base game which I nearly forgot to do. However - cue Robot from Lost in Space "Warning Will Robinson - warning" -- you will need some of the blocks for certain unit types when you play this expansion. The back of the expansion does states it is not a complete game, and you need the base game. I stupidly thought it meant you needed the base rules and the board. However, in my defense, I did not note anywhere in the expansion rules that the blocks from the base game were also needed. I stickered this a few weeks ago and did not look closely at the scenarios - my bad there. Only when I got to my friend's house and started setting up did I realize I was missing whole unit types for both sides. We made do with what we had. I won as the Crusaders at Hab 7 to 2. I really like this expansion and hopefully there is more to follow.

I actually like Medieval the best of all the C & C games that I won (Ancients, Mem 44, Nappy and Samauri Battles along with Battle Cry). I am just waiting for someone to build a Vassal module for this expansion.

This is super good, just printed my copy and played 3 games, first two ended with about half the map, normal victories, then my final game i got the last square and fought 3 panzers that purple hearted me lol, was a glorious game 3.

Seeing if someone knows were i can find replacement counters. Some of the Allied counters are off center , creating a cutoff on the playing pieces .

In the previous Next War games, the "Allies" were always the "defender". In this game, the "Allies" are the "attacker". It was an interesting turn of events.

First of all, thank you for reviewing a lesser known Avalanche Press title. This is the only video on UA-cam about this game. Second of all, the first four and a half minutes are difficult to watch... your tone is implies your frustration with the rulebook, but you don't make any substantial points. @2:26 you point out the Sequence of Play, but then less than 30 seconds later (@2:52) you grouse "Where's the sequence of play?" There are times (like @3:17) where you seem to be upset that there are basic rules for common features of wargames (like supply, tanks, artillery...), but you don't elaborate. You say that the rulebook is poorly organized but do not show any example of why you believe that. The index on the cover page is remarkably exhaustive and you fail to mention that the rulebook itself is only 12 pages, and in reality the last four and a half pages are scenarios and quick-reference tables and the first (front cover) page is the table of contents and artwork, so the rules portion is really only six and a half pages. The game really plays quite well and is clearly written... I am not sure it's reasonable to review these rules if you only played half a game and quit before finishing it over 20 years ago. The last two thirds of the video are more informative and seem less biased, although the complaints about the map again seem insubstantial (for all the fussing about the oversized map, one would note that it hasn't in 20 years suffered any noticeable damage from occupying a smaller box, so why is this such a big deal?). Thanks again for the upload.
