Why leave your scooter at the edge of the road after the crash, handle bars over the line? Your problem is you dont think what could happen, also why accelerate after you knew the bridge was not smooth and leveled. I wouldnt recommend a powerful scooter for u man, stick to the 35mph go traxs stuff. Glade you didnt get hurt worse tho

I have an electric scooter myself and AVOID going over 25mph and going on boulevards! These machines are death traps; small tires/bad roads, instability, goes to fast, drivers don't see/hear you, etc, etc.... Here in Quebec, Canada it's illegal to drive out of bicycle lanes and above 15 mph....

The caster angle is responsible for this behavior. If the caster angle is very small, the wheel does not have enough tendency to return to its central position, which makes it easier for a wobble or shimmy to start. Conversely, an excessive caster angle can make the steering more stable but also stiffer and harder to maneuver. A steering damper is installed to control this movement, limiting the speed and amplitude of the handlebar oscillations. This helps to prevent shimmy by reducing the wheel’s tendency to oscillate and by maintaining more stable steering control at all times.

  • @1018Video

Looks like your steering-damper should have been tighter, also never ride that fast on a road that rough. That road was rough enough that it looked like a motorcycle would have got speed-wobbles at that speed too.

The initial cause of the speed wobble was due to the uneven and unleveled road surfaces which might have gone away on its own, but getting off the throttle and panic braking definitely intensified the speed wobble. If you slow the video down, you were going a steady 47 mph, but applying the brakes made you lose a ton of speed and you most likely locked up your brakes causing the crash.

    • @kovirton

Its a design flaw. Steering dampers are most effective resisting motion from direct inputs (in most cases, left and right). On this scooter, its directly facing forward, meaning any motion left or right isn't going into the the steering damper. If you look at the Nami Burn E, the steering damper is facing diagonally. Its still not the best position, but its better than the Weped. I also have a top speed run where I experienced a speed wobble, but it was controlled by the damper. The best position for the damper would have it face left and right as seen on motorcycles.
