It doesnt matter is what most of the fanbase came to in 2013 but most people didnt understand this and demanded a second game that was never wanted by the original last of us fans nor needed, the first game and by proxy the show ends perfectly, in the game when ellie says "okay" to joels lie the way she says it and her facial expressions give away that she knows hes bullshitting but i never got that understanding from the show the way the last scene plays out it seems like ellie is just believing him
