Man crossing canal in Central Birmingham by clinging to underside of bridge.
This fellow decided it would be nice to go UNDER the bridge instead of going up all those steps to go the conventional way.

Time lapse type video of the construction of Beetham Tower, Birmingham,UK.
Wow them good old 150s and the old t69 trams in this clip
Awesome video remember the good old class 150s and T69 Trams that ruled the lines before the class 172s and CAF Urbos 3
Now it has completely changed!
i worked on there , i was on the 2 lift shafts
Nice historical video.
These old Class 150's have been replaced with brand new Class 172 trains. Were replaced in the autumn of 2011. London Midland only have two Class 150's left. Now 4 platforms in use. Platforms 3 and 4 opened in late 2010 for use by Chiltern Railways.
I like that video. PS I subscribed to you and posted a comment on your channel page. :)
@cammey23 Hi. Thanks. Probably only if the line is electrified.
Very nice. Will these trains ever get replaced???
I hate these trains. The sooner they are replaced the better,
I know ...I saw ya!
@hodnux - that's because they are the same basic vehicle.
@sup3rm1k3 But that doesn't answer why its called Line 1. The current extension that is underway is exactly that, an extention to the current line, not a "new line" as such!! It is HIGHLY unlikely that any actual new lines proper will be built for many many years
@samtron2000 Hi. Because it's the first of several planned lines to be built. The others will be 'Line 2, Line 3 etc. It is being extended as we speak. a new bridge has been built at Great Charles Street to take it past Snow Hill station and a new concrete viaduct has already been completed alongside the station to take the new track onto the road where it will continue onto Bull Street and on to New Street Station. Track laying is due to begin in 2011.
Why is the line branded as "line one"?? There is only one line, what else is it going to be?!?!?!
Heh Heh!! Ok Ok Manchester is second (to Birmingham) and always will be. Getting back to my video of the tower. Don't you think it's quite good? All done from still shots you know. It's been nice chatting with you but I'm afraid we're all busy down here in Birmingham (So good they named it twice) (Brum). No time to keep chatting on here so I'll thank you for commenting on my video and wish you all up there in Manchester a very good day. P.S Is it raining again?
It seems that you have a 'bee in your bonnet' about this wheras I have never had to give it much thought as it is generally accepted by everyone outside Manchester that Birmingham is and has long been the second city. According to The EU it is the first city in size in the UK as London (outside the square mile) has never been incorporated as a city. (The only 'City of London' is the square mile'). Manchester is having to make this claim year after year, doesn't that tell you something?
Hi. I haven't removed anything - you made 2 previous (3 now) comments which I have answered. They are all still on my screen. (Maybe UA-cam are removing them?? I have just googled Man, second city? and I have copied this:Birmingham has generally been regarded as the second city of the United Kingdom since around the time of World War I,[1] though some polls and media references have quoted Manchester as the second city (and also as the third city). That is a direct copy from the site you quote.
Still clutching at straws I see. I could match any of those things eg. Birmingham, home to the Conservative party conference. Eurovision song contest, G8 summit 1998 (First g8, used to be G7) home to the worlds longest running soap, The Archers. I could go on. But I won't. Just one last thing. Birmingham's twin cities are Chicago (second city of U.S)., Frankfurt, Barcelona, etc. LA looked for a UK city to 'associate' with, London said No, Birmingham with Chicago, so chose |Manchester 3rd again
Try? I didn't need to try. It's just a video of a building. It's not the highest building in Birmingham. The BT Tower in Birmingham is 100 feet taller than this building. Incidentally, how can a city of 450,000 population (Manchester) even be compared to a city of over 1.2 million people (Birmingham)? There are more people in one half of Birmingham than in the whole of Manchester. There are more people in Birmingham than in Liverpool and Manchester combined. So dream on Manchester not even third
Maybe the supertram is better but that's it...Birmingham and Manchester are in a different league city wise. Birmingham is twinned with Chicago and Frankfurt etc. Where is Sheffield twinned with?
Hi. No to stop the escalator.
did not know Brum had trams...
cool
I was still in brum when they was laying down the track..forgot that they might of actually completed it. How far does the network extend to??
Hi. Thanks for your comment. No there are no ticket barriers at this station.
Thanks for your nice comment AH. (And to all the other's who have made nice comments. It's much appreciated.)
This video is immense! Good job Mike
Yes it's 4 platforms in total. Two on the North-South line through the tunnel and two dead end platforms Southbound only. The two Southbound platforms are fairly new and are not in use yet. But it's a very busy commuter station being situated right in the heart of the city and close to the Bullring also.
Thanks, its just a job tho ! we also did the Rotunda
Thanks.
good video - know it would be difficult but it would be so cool if there were a full time lapse video of the construction of a skyscraper
very fascinating
Hi. Yes, thanks for your comment. I have used the system regularly for about 7 years and occasionally there are problems but generally it's a great service. In that time I've only been on a service that has broken down once.
Thanks paul
