We had uphill all day, and I probably hadn't eaten enough the previous days. Because I was lacking energy, badly. But the struggle came with amaaaazing views. So. Not too bad :)

very nice watching, what were the dates of your hike?
I did the hike 8-15 august 2020 👍
Hej Simon.
Hi simon u do some thing big. I recommend you visit the himalayan mountains k2 and Nangaparbat view point from one place. Whenever you start a short solo trip of 4-5 days, Moses Peak is a must. It is a 5300m height۔ from the top of moses pea which you can see the views of the K2 world second highest peak in the world, Nangaparbat, K6 k11 and K 12 views in one frame. best time from May to October. This is a family tracked.its open Zone, one did not need a trekking permit or have to pay Royalty fee to climbed this Mountain tower
Simon! This is such a wonderful way to remember 2023 on the CDT. Thank you for your calm storytelling and your gentle capture of the landscapes you moved through. I’m so excited to enjoy your story more. 😌
Thanks for sharing your adventure with a fresh twist - look forward to following you along 😊 Stay strong!
Love the NM vibes 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Wow! Amazing job on this my friend!!Really enjoyed the whole thing and looking forward to seeing more. Cheers
Having enjoyed walking with you for a short time on the PCT in 2017, I'm looking forward to joining you the whole way on this one. Less strenuous keeping up with you this time, though. Fond regards from Tall Paul from Australia.
Great to hear from you Paul! Happy your along for this one too 😁
Snyggt Simon!
Aldrig vandrat, men man blir sugen😃
Commenting for the algorithm.
Thank you for making the vlogs and sharing your thoughts along the way. The series is very engaging and informative!
Stunning, I did the Kungsleden in the summer a few years ago and did the northern section again with skiis last winter. It's a beautiful part of the world! Sarek is very high on my list, so this has been really useful to watch - how easy was it to get on/off the trail in terms of public transport?
I'm glad you had some use if it 😊 the train+bus ride is long but straight forward, and when you arrive you are at the trail head. I would recommend booking train + bus tickets both through the train company so if there is any delays they will help you.
Hello pleas have you gps maps where you go ???
This is a rough gpx track of the route that i have drawn www.dropbox.com/s/yvdl7fd52f52rgm/Map%20Items.gpx?dl=0
Hi, your route looks super interesting! Do you have a gpx file for sharing? I'm looking forward to do some hiking in Sarek as well in a near future!

@@simoneklov Sorry for the late reply, but thank you so much! I may try to repeat this in 2024. Ever since my time in the North (Finnish Lapland, my first week-long through hike), I've been yearning to return somewhere in the Arctic. These places are truly special!
Thanks for this story, alot of those feelings on (and out off) the trail i can 100% relate to. Hiked through Sarek a couple of years ago and going back this summer, such a magical place.
I found that the willow in Algavagga was not as bad as I expected. It took us about an hour to get through it.
I thought about climbing Skarjajakha, but was afraid to do it without climbing equipment. Stayed in the vallies instead.
Two questions: After you cross the river and before the bridge you show a V in the map. what that means? I understood the other symbols but that one. Second: What software do you use to edit the track over the map. I really like the quality of your editing. Thank you.
Thanks! 😊 The V is the ravine i crossed in-between the river and the bridge. It was a tricky symbol to make. I did all the map animations for part one in Adobe after effects and for part 2 and 3 i used fusion within davinci resolve
Tack Ralf! 🙏
that was great Simon, i followed your hike with the map, wishing/planning/dreaming to do Kungslegen with all those variation and side hike which i think is much more interesting and exciting than just following the main trail
Hi Simon Many thanks for your superb and very useful videos. I was in Sarek for 2 weeks last August doing some of the same trail as you and I will return this August for a month to do some of the Western parts. I really look forward to Part 3. from John Ipswich UK
Not quite at the end of the week, but what the heck, stunning impressive pictures again, you immediately feel like hiking yourself, which is definitely still on the agenda when the leg is healed again. I'm already looking forward to part 3 and thank you for these nice impressions.
Thanks Janek! Yes not exactly the the end of the week, I am forever a time optimist 😅
🙌🏽🙌🏽 great stuff
Suveren reise fra Sarek, gleder meg til del 2 :) Takk for at du delte denne turen.
amazing video 👍
Grymt jobbat!
When is part 2 coming. It just looks so beautiful, I was really annoyed that there was only one part.
I'm working hard on the next part, aiming to have it out next weekend! 😊
Tack!
Tack Ralf! 😊🙏
I can relate exactly to what you are saying about hiking alone and hiking with others. Both come with their ups and downs and are totally related to the current activity. When hiking I almost prefer to be alone and set my own pace but when the tent is up and you have a couple of hours before bedtime, some company is nice:). I hiked through Basstavagge last summer and really liked it! Real feeling of remoteness and almost like walking on the moon.
Hi Simon, thank you for the amazing video! I plan a Sarek crossing with a friend of mine in june 2023. We will have different route but some parts are the same. Do you think river crossing and snow in higher elevation will be a problem at the end of june? Looking forward to the next part :)
Thanks! 😊 River crossings are definitely more of a factor at the end of June. But it will all depend on a lot of factors, like how used you are to fording and what route you're taking (are you crossing any bigger streams). You'll probably encounter some snow, but will most likely not be a big problem, again here it will depend on factors like how snow melt has been and how high you will be going. All in all, I think fording is a lot of fun, and as long as you try to make smart decisions for where you are crossing it's a really fun challenge!
Hi Simon, What time of the year did you do that hike?
I did this in the beginning of august :)
Nice route :) What did you use for the route animation in the beginning?
Thanks! 😊 I used adobe after effects for the animations
Looking forward to the rest Simon! Nice to hear your personal thoughts along the way too, thanks for sharing 👍🙂
Great stuff Simon, some route that ✌🏻
You deserve more likes!
Why the low expectations? Since it's actually the highest waterfall in Sweden I mean...
Well, low expectations was maybe a bad way to put it. But I didn't know sweden had waterfalls as big as njuperskär 😅
Vart i lilla mårmastugan både sommar o. Vinter.
Underbar.
Hi, awesome video! Can you please give an advice, how much skiing experience do one need to be able to make it? Thanks a lot!
Cheers :) It's a quite easy stretch since you have cabins every 10-20 km and the trail is easy to follow. If you are in decent physical shape it shouldn't be any problems to do one cabin per day. It's important to point out however that it makes a big difference compared to normal cross country skiing having ha pack on the back and having to make your own tracks. It was an amazing trip though, so definitely recommend it!
Hey. Great Video. When have you been there? Which month? Greetings
Hey, and thanks! I was there from march 2-7. I would say the best time to go there for skiing is around march-april
👍
Stunning landscape. What backpack did you use on this hike?
Gossamer gear gorilla 👍
Men man tackar!!
👍
More fishy business on the ice today I see!
Heheh, fishy very fishy
