What would've happened to John Lennon if he'd left The Beatles in 1962?
Kes - Some Good Bits...
Переглядів 71 тис.10 років тому
A few (of the many) great moments from Ken Loach's Kes (1969). Fletcher, Bradley, Perrie, Bowes, Glover, Welland, Naylor, Sunderland, Miller, Kaye, Banks, German Bight!
10 Rillington Place (1971) - Some Disturbing Moments
Переглядів 230 тис.12 років тому
A few (of the many) disturbing moments from the brilliant (but disturbing) 10 Rillington Place. Richard Attenborough, John Hurt and Judy Geeson turn in amazing performances. Don't know why, but I find Attenborough's delivery of the line "John Waddington" (when quizzed by the policeman in the final scene) particularly unsettling.
Sean Connery - The Offence (1972) Bloody-o-meter

Sean Connery says "bloody" with alarming regularity in Sidney Lumet's The Offence.
Andrea Bocelli - God Bless Us Everyone (A Christmas Carol 2009)

Clips from Disney's 2009 version of A Christmas Carol, with music by Andrea Bocelli (and Alan Silvestri).
At least he didn't met Yoko and didn't get killed.
Thank God the universe said different.
In this version John didnt beat his wife to a pulp or ignore his son for 30 years
The film is very faithful to story also a brilliant singer sings
So he leaves the Beatles and gives up on music?
So basically if John Lennon left The Beatles he would have just been that annoying twat in every job, bus and school.
I've only watched part one so far, however this is amazing.
i am one of them .i have the talent ,but i did not have the drive ..i wanted to be home in my own bed everynight .i have songs on you tube here .under charlie cap ..i now have to live with it .its very hard and the saddest thing is wasted talent ,if you dont do the right thing nothing happens ///
Oh! The irony of this all. If The Beatles are remembered in 500 years time, we will remember Paul for "Yesterday", George for "Something", and John for "Imagine". All three songs composed mainly by the individuals.
This was really good. I think they should have continued with more parts. Since Paul came by and admitted that they never should have done that song, it would have been cool if the next part had John getting together with Paul.
what an horrible wig Ian is wearing !
And that’s how Paul O’Grady got started in showbiz
How the effing eff am I only just discovering this?!? What a great performance from Ian Hart. That's the best half hour I've spent with my hands free for a long time.
Paul left when he died in ‘66.
This is highly unlikely and unbelievable. John would have gone out on his own or started a new band.
A more believable question would be, what if John had gone to NZ with his father or his mother hadn’t found him before they left?
Is this the Deadpool variant of John Lennon?
"Now Then Now Then Now Then" very similar to another vile person 20 to 30 years later, that's spooky!😱
For some reason John is giving me oasis vibes😂
This was an interesting video. I think it captures how difficult I imagine John could be (but also how funny). It's also interesting because it shows John experiencing much of what Pete Best probably experienced as an ex-Beatle.
John had a number of people who thought he was exceptional, including Mimi, Brian Epstein, and the other three Beatles. It's hard to imagine him languishing in obscurity, especially given his ambition, aversion to ordinary work, and his ability to work hard when he wanted to. His assistant Fred Seamon was shocked when John snapped out of his depressed and lethargic state and sat down at a piano in Bermuda and pounded out the finished versions of demos that he'd been fiddling with for years in 8-10 hour daily sessions.
Think it's cool that the man gave up life as a Beatle , but kept the granny glasses
I wish 1962 had been the year of my birth .
40p for the bus?
If John had left there wouldn't have been Beatles. It would have left a void for another band to emerge and it probably would have been Gerry and the Pacemakers. They weren't as daring or macho as the Beatles but they were charming and a more classy. Gerry Marsden was handsome and was a star. Yoko would have been taller than him (joke)
Funny how in this timeline he potentially gets to live longer, possibly to a ripe old age. He could still be alive today if he hadn't been such a huge star.
Quite clever.
well at least he doesn't get shot in this version of his life.
I saw this 7 years ago, a year after it was uploaded, as my comment below shows. I was imagining this to have 3 million views by 2024 and it barely has 308,000. Why? This was masterful. I hope that this received the praise that it deserved, at least on television in the UK
Ian Hart has made a career out of John. He's aged right into this iteration. But if John had been shown this being a possible future, I bet he'd say he'd rather be shot.
John Lennon got the PETE BEST TREATMENT
6:20 is a deft touch.
I think you’re forgetting the sheer amount of hits this man wrote on his own talent like that doesn’t go unnoticed He may not have been nearly as famous or well known, but he still would’ve been a musician with fans most definitely. an artist is an artist till they die
This is utterly ridiculous. The premise that John needed the Beatles to be successful. John was multitalented as a writer and song writer/singer. He would have been successful without The Beatles and Paul. Paul is the one who would have been the one lacking in absence of a genius musical collaborator.
The music at 21 mins is a bit Now and Then
There was only one John Lennon.
I understand that this is like John in Pete Best's shoes but I don't think John would have quit music for quite some time. He may have had some other minor success in music and ventured into the art world doing something creative. The drama is largely created from him living the polar opposite of everything he aimed for. The idea that he would work odd office jobs seems a little unbelievable.
John would have started another band.
Great performance, but John’s hair was also a bit thinner than this by 1980.
God pls, Get Disney back to cartoons and movies like this one!
That's awesome! Dear Ian Hart He plays John in the movie Back Beat I'm glad to hear that My Youth Movie
What year is this supposed to be and how old would John have been?
I am assuming the remaining members would still go on and get another guitar player (or bass player so Paul could go back to guitar) and the what IF is how good the new guy is!
LOL even without drugs. Shown as a lunatic. Seriously he threw a brick or rock. Breaking Paul's window late at night.
I just noticed that this song has the same tune as the overture that plays over the film's opening credits. What a nice little detail!
20:00 For those interested, yes, Paul McCartney actually did a reworking of "Mary Had a Little Lamb" - the children's nursery rhyme - with his band Wings that became a Top Ten British hit in 1972.
Fun fact, this is the same actor who portrayed Professor Quirrell in the first Harry Potter film.
Typical British always pessimistic. What if John Lennon left the Beatles and had an interesting and fulfilling life? What if he hadn't gone to New York and been killed at 40? He was a vibrant teenager. Maybe he would have formed or joined another music group, which would have been far more influential than the Beatles which considering the circumstances it would have been. But no apparently the 1960s had no effect on this John Lennon version. What happened then to British music? What happened to Ringo Starr?
Doubt you’d have heard the music at the start of the film without John making it big
