Courage: Strengths like bravery, perseverance, and authenticity.
Humanity: Strengths like kindness, love, and social intelligence.
Justice: Strengths like fairness, leadership, and teamwork.
Temperance: Strengths like humility, forgiveness, and self-control.
Transcendence: Strengths like gratitude, hope, and spirituality.
These virtues and their associated strengths guide ethical behaviour, enhance relationships, and help us navigate life’s challenges with purpose and meaning.

The Cobra Effect
Переглядів 36День тому
The Cobra Effect refers to unintended consequences that arise when well-intentioned solutions to problems backfire, often making the problem worse. The term originates from a historical event in colonial India, where the government offered bounties for dead cobras to reduce their population. People began breeding cobras to claim the rewards, leading to an even larger cobra population when the p...

On Giving Up The Art of Self Revision
Переглядів 21Місяць тому
Life and work often pressure us to see things through to the end, even when continuing may no longer serve us-a phenomenon known as the Tyranny of Completion. On the other hand, embracing the art of giving up allows us to let go of commitments, projects, or beliefs that no longer align with our goals or values. This process is deeply tied to the power of self-revision, which involves reassessin...

I use to believe this. But as of today I’m getting more into learning that tone is everything. They say with food, you eat with your eyes first. If it doesn’t look good, most usually wouldn’t want to partake. Same With speaking. Your tone determines how the other person will intake your words and points. However, if your tone is negative loud obnoxious ,it will throw off your valid points and no one will take those thoughts into account.

My employers company tries to incorporate this exact approach to our production team. Let me tell you why it never works in corporate America. 1. Quarterly Reports 2. Shareholders Reviews 3. Production Disruption 4. Quantity Control (NOT quality) and… 5. Yearly Corporate Bonuses It’s not about the customer here in America anymore

    • @TheFatAtom

Interesting perspective... I can definitely see how the focus on short-term metrics like quarterly reports and bonuses could clash with the continuous improvement mindset of Kaizen. It's tough to prioritize long-term growth when you're under constant pressure to hit immediate targets. Do you think there's a way to strike a balance between the two?

No. The stock market is not random. The movement of stocks is determined by the emotional betting. The roulette wheel is random unless it’s imperfect. That’s a big difference.
