For your replacement alternator, which one did you go with? OEM?

This is not how you properly uninstall a alternator for this engine. There is a proper way that doesn’t include removing oil or coolant.

Thanks for the tips. I unfortunatley have to replace my alternator here soon as I can. This is going to save me a bunch of time and money.

what dremel tool do u recommend and do u think a failed alternator can cause tuning issues i tried to flash stage 1 after changing plugs coils (ofc before i knew the alternator was bad) and the car runs significantly slower and i’m not getting any codes for a boost leak any advice would be greatly appreciated!🙏🏿

Getting it out was the hard issue that I had but the new one slipped right in with no problem.

Dunno, man. You just left the rubber mat all cut up 1/2" away from the edge of those speaker housings? I mean...it works...but clean is something else

It does not work with a cheap aftermarket alternator. The alternator is not machined to fit between the lower mount. Don't even bother to try. I had to grind the alternator mounting to be able to make it fit.

How do you put it back in? I’m struggling like a MF. It won’t go back in unless I remove the oil filter housing. My alt won’t go in. I got mine from O’rileys. I don’t know if that makes a difference. I shaved the mount and everything 😢

A quick question, I know this is a 3 year old video, i finally got the alternator in but I am having a hard time getting the bottom bolts back, the ones on the top line up perfectly, but those bottom bolts will go in a little ways and then I'll hand screw them to a point and they just keep turning. Please advise?

How much did shipping cost on the front end?
