I’m so glad to see this new video tonight!
Great video! Could you show examples of the knot in use &/or applications? I heard you say below a hondo.
Tom, you always bring us very interesting knotworks that challenge us to tackle. You are a master knot tyer.
Interesting one. 👌🏻👍🏻 Goes right into my knotwork Playlist.

Hello and thank you! Can you show us this beautiful pattern with 8 strands please ;
Thx Tom😊
Tips on going from a 12 strand flat braid to a 6 strand square?
Hi there! Are there sources from where I can purchase the Tom Hall Books, or they out of print? I live in the UK. Any leads would be very helpful....TIA
Hello! I’m fairly new to turks head knots…less than a year in…and I recently accidentally stumbled on a 10 part 3 bight sobre casa knot while working on a project. I didn’t realize it was a sobre casa knot until after a few hours of trying to figure out what I thought would be a quick pineapple interweave. I thought my confusion had something to do with the fact that I had an even number of parts…so I broke out the Intro to Turks heads book and learned that I had a sobre casa knot. I ended up re-tying the base 10 part 3 bight casa knot the standard way but I feel pretty defeated and have some questions about sobre casa knots. Is there a specific use case for why you’d tie a sobre casa knot instead of a standard one? What’s the reason to choose one over the other? When it comes to interweaves (pineapple and herringbone in particular), is there a method or approach for tying them into sobre casa knots? I tried all kinds of things like starting the interweave on the right instead of the left of the standing end, starting with overs instead of unders, starting deeper in the knot…even starting from the right side of the entire knot…I kept hitting dead ends and getting confused. If you think this is a worthwhile question, I’d love to get your thoughts / guidance. Thanks for all you do to teach this skill. I’m enjoying learning it tremendously.
Could you do how to tie a paracord hondo?
Amazing video. Thank you!
I have been tying some mixtures and as you said, the possibilities are endless and it is very invigorating and sometimes maddening playing with them.
Thanks Mike very clear and especially appreciate the beginning where you show the start points of gaucho or herringbone.
Sounds like we are gonna need another book.
I can appreciate your skill, but I cannot see any of it in the dark line. Might as well be hockey tape.
Thanks Mike great tip😊
I consider myself a fairly advanced knot tyer. I’ve been at it for a decade now and have created some really nice projects. However, your ability to just “see” the knot is fascinating and inspiring to me. Thank you.
I have a couple of your books, but I haven't been practicing, I'll get some more cord before long and maybe some leather, I could probably pick up some extra income making key fobs and stuff. I appreciate your videos.
Another great video Mike. If it's not too much trouble where did you get your lacing fit from?
It is a Jeremiah Watt Horse Shoe Brand.
Nice! Who makes your fid?

I’ve learned so much from this channel. Thank you! Would you mind telling me what kind of lace you’re using. I’m having trouble finding that really flat leather lace and I’m probably just not searching correctly.
It is lace I cut from English Bride leather.
Great job Mike😊
Thanks!
Man thx
I did it with the same colors, it looks great !
Thanks for including a grid diagram as well as a run list. It helped me a lot. One thing I noticed while working on this knot is that the bight number sequence for this Pampas knot is the same as a 19P/12B Casa knot. Of course the coding is different. There is very little info on Pampas knots on the web (in English). Thanks again....
Sir, is that AG 2.0 a program i can download from somewhere online or is it a product i need to purchase?
Done it ! But I had to turn the video upside down.
Nice video. I learned.
How is this not the night boundaries of a type 1?
Hey Tom! Id love to see some variations to your video on the "3 2 2 3" or "W" knot. Maybe a "2 1 1 2" or "2 1 1 1 1 2" Id also love to see some videos of the gaucho interweave using base knots with 2 bites and base knots with 4 bites. Like from a 5p 2b, 7p 2b, 9p 2b, 5p 4b, 7p 4b, 9p 4b. Ive been able to interweave them with the pineapple knot and herringbone knot, but every time i try it with a gaucho interweave i can never get it right lol. ua-cam.com/video/jkBAs6kgdio/v-deo.htmlsi=Ol0jsPzK3y1U-rxD Ive also linked a video above, and i would love to see this and a gaucho variation covered by you. So instead of"\/\////\/\", maybe it would be "\\//\\\\//\\". Anyways, sorry for the long winded comment. And of course im not asking for you to cover all of these, or even any of these. Its up to you. These are just some ideas i would LOVE to see taught by you if you are up to it of course. :) Thanks for all the amazing content and books Tom. :D
Go to my Web page, “Tom Hall Braiding and Knots” and download the computer program I wrote years ago. You will have fun with it.
Hey Tom :). I would love to see videos on different variations of this knot. Maybe like a 2 1 1 2, or a 2 1 1 1 1 2. Maybe a 2 2 1 1 2 2, or a 2 2 1 1 1 1 22. Id also love to see how you would love to see the aztec interweaves i see all over yt, and maybe a variation where its a u1 o1 casa knot style like this "\/\////\/\" instead of this "\\////\\" Link to the aztec knot and variation I'm talking about: ua-cam.com/video/LNyzqFieNMI/v-deo.htmlsi=KY1FOokCKfmu3Y4- ua-cam.com/video/jkBAs6kgdio/v-deo.htmlsi=Ol0jsPzK3y1U-rxD Also ive been trying to figure out how to do the gaucho interweave from 4 bite base knots like a 7p 4b, or a 9p 4b, or a 11p 4b casa knot, and i would love to be taught that. Sorry for such a long winded comment lol. And to be clear, im not asking for you to teach everything or anything i suggested, but i would love to see a video or videos teaching what i talked about here if you are up for it. Thanks for the amazing content and amazing books Tom :D. Ur AWESOME.
This braid is not round,is it?
Tried to tie it in the book so... went searching for a video. Here goes!
I am newcomer and enjoying how to make these since I wear them on my handkerchief. However I am trying to find out how to tie it off when done. Thanks
This video alone has been infinitely helpful for my process in tanning the largest hide I've ever tanned. Been at it for a few years but Im on the first full on cowhide. Your experience in this video is apparent, thank you!
You give very easy to follow instructions and it's helped me greatly. I was wondering if you could answer a question or show how to do it on another video. My question is I'm braiding a cover knot for the turnbacks on a set of romal reins. This is my first attempt. As you know the taper on the turnback makes on end larger than the other. I've down my foundation knot and the interweave with a second color. If you'll imagine the loop end of the turnback is facing to the right, about two-fifths from the left end I start getting gaps in my strings and can see the tape underlayment. I want to interweave in a third color like you're doing in this video, but instead of starting on the left end I'd need to start about 1/3 or a bit further to the right. Is that possible? And if it is can you explain it or make a video on how to do it?
Is the rope polyester yacht rope? Thickness? Where do you order yours? Also….will you do a video on braiding a horse halter? Thanks!
Nice Video
Thank you for the instructions! Please explain the LENGTH and width of the string before you start the knot.
Awesome ! Thanks for sharing this. 🤝🏻
