Creative Output vs Creative Input

Seems like just about any "creative" (hate that word) person dances with burnout throughout their life. Sony a7 IV long-term review
Переглядів 12 тис.Рік тому
Not the prettiest camera, nor the most exciting, but the Sony a7 IV does just about everything I need. For the record, I filmed most of this video with some combination of window light and my Sony a7 ii, so the visuals are a little less consistent than I would like. That's also why there's no 4k. But we move. Newsletter: kevincockerline.substack.com/ Website: kevincockerline.com Grainery: grain...

The 2 cameras I carry ATM is a 1974 polaroid sx70 alpha 1 model 1 and a 1983 olympus om20
I don’t really think the issue is about how much film photography costs it’s about how much time it takes involved in doing film photography is a completely different animal from digital !
AH, I love and miss Oaxaca. Great video!
@@gabgallant me too, truly. Thank you for watching!
Ue smiling bro
Where are some options for dev and scan?
Overall cool vid, just watch the vocal fry.
@@marklion315 yo thanks for the feedback! Do you mind explaining in a little more detail? My audio knowledge is limited, but I’ve been trying to keep peaks below -4db without a ton of ambient noise
Wow that almost looked like redscale
I gotta try red scale out at some point
Beautiful
these photos are beast, man.
Thank you!
I`ve got the same book, shooting film for more than 25 years, i find you need a degree in photography to get the best out of this book. Roger Hicks a freelance photo journalist has some good books on Colour and Black and white photography. Reading his stuff for many years,, he sadly past away a few years ago bless his soul.
I've been eyeing Leica's and Hasselblads for my dumb photos for a while now and you shooting a volcano with a Canonet really put things..... In perspective for me 😂
it's a solid camera! (and I constantly look at hasselblads...maybe one day)
Good stuff, new sub here!!
Thanks you! Glad you liked it
I'll be honest the video dragged on for me but from 10:55 until 13:30 it was exactly what I expected and everything was tied together VERY nicely. from the shots, your words, to the music. I highly encourage you to branch this way more, the energy was unmatched!!
So... how did you move your LR CC library to Classic? Because I can't figure it out! I don't want to lose all of my edits
Honestly don’t know at this point because I haven’t used it in years. The Lightroom Queen has a guide though
@@KevinCockerline let me know if you have a link.
Nice shots! Really insane to see this on film
Thank you for checkin it out! Appreciate it
When the Jun theme kicks in 😊
These are my favorite comments to see. Thank you for watching!
I just kept saying wow the entire volcano shoot 😭😭😭 Just WOW
thank you :)
Dang! The results look incredible! I'm sure that was an amazing feeling getting the film back from the lab.
Thank you! It definitely felt great, especially after my last roll was kinda mid 😂
This is amazing
Thank you 🌌
I audibly gasped at that one volcano photo Insane crazy unbelievable
🫢🫢😱
Are you freaking kidding me
You living it up Brody love it ❤

Thanks you!
Amazing adventure!
Thank you!
This is so insane 🤯
Thanks for checking it out homie 🤝
Got me hyped seeing the results 🔥😮💨
Me too lmfao
This was dope bro!
Thank you man !
nice video, but i just had 1 question, Why do you punch your fridge?🥲
LMAO. I don’t, I was at an Airbnb in Costa Rica😂😂
I plan to use classic and sync to cc when wanting to edit on iPad or something :) you messed around with that?
I think that’s a solid idea! I haven’t messed with it though, I’ve been completely off CC since I made this video
Love virtual copies!!! 😊
great tools, always love to see what other creators are using.
Dawn and/or dusk + tripod is where Velvia will shine the most. The location is perfect for the film, but the time of day will truly make a difference. It’s a shame Fuji stopped making Velvia and Provia.
I totally missed the bit where you quite life to travel the world, that's awesome!! This was great, love the colours in Oaxaca
Thanks Rick!
Sick pics, living the dream
Thank you homie
Living the travel dream!!!

Shots go crazy
Thank you my goat
wow this is like really really cool
Thank you 😁
stellar video
Thank you 🤝
So are you contradicting some of your thoughts on your video 2 months ago? Just curious about your current stance on creative input/output.
I don't think so, I'm gonna be getting an abundance of new life experiences and time in nature which I love! I'm 2 weeks in and admittedly keeping up with media consumption is difficult but I am still watching / playing stuff. Just have to be conscious about making time for it
i did that shit with the military years ago but maybe
keep it up man cant wait to see what you do!
Thank you!
Good on you, follow your dream. Travelling is a great call and opens your mind.
Appreciate it :)
I’ve been looking for a bag so I might get it
With regular pens they will either be open back refills, or pressurised refills, which allows the ink to go down easier. Because fountain pen in is more viscous it can't use an open back refill because it would leak everywhere, and if it was pressurised it would squirt ink out of the front, since it is more like a cartridge, bubbles can form which occasionally make it not flow ink properly. The best way to get around that is to twist it in your fingers a bit, until the bubble pops (theres no way to know when it pops though). Resist the urge to shake it, it will spill ink everywhere. Personally i prefer to write with fountain pens because i find it a much more pleasant writing experience, and it is a beginner one because fountain pens feel very different to write with, some people really like them, some people don't, so its better to get a relatively cheap one when you are a beginner to use them, because the non-beginner ones get very expensive very quickly. Pen talk never bores me lol. Nice edc! 👍
I learned "resist the urge to shake it" the hard way LOL. Had a pool of ink in my pen cap. Still been using this metropolitan everyday and I love it! But I do want to try a platinum preppy so I can use the platinum carbon black carts. I really like platinum carbon black ink, but I can't travel around with a bottle of ink. Thanks for checking out the video! Hope you're having a good day
Did you check the PD 6L sling? This bag is a PD clone which in my opinion isn’t close to the PD bag.
Love your content! Would you be interested in collaborating with us?
Id be interested for sure! Best way to get in touch rn is my Instagram @kcockerline
So how do you make the switch?
the tile or the video is "switching" but no instructions on how at all.. anyway, it's not hard to do.
Persona, pikmin, and Pokémon. You’re a man of culture I see 😇
Thank you ‼️‼️
There are so many points in this that I agree with, and I think I've been living life quite similarly over recent years. My consumption has been a bit all over the place and while somethings really hit this year (The Bear, The Killer, Oppenheimer, Across the Spiderverse) others were just without proper attention being paid to them. That point about putting in the legwork with other people's ideas too.... damn. Thanks for this Kevin.
Glad to know this connected with you, thanks for watching! And I'll have to check out The Killer
What’s your experience been with the black ring cover over the orange?
Never ended up buying it. Really wish I could just make it silver or black instead though
