Hiking Spookie Gulch in Utah's Dry Fork. Great for family and kids, Spookie Gulch runs off from Peek A Boo Gulch. It is a great started canyon for those wishing to start in slot canyons. Although you will have some scrambling to do, it is not a technical hike. It does have some narrow areas that will have those of a large body frame working to get through. Super post, thanks. Every time I've visited the Canyonlands country and into the Book Cliffs I've seen wild horses. A pleasure to do so. Many were ranch turnouts and a few previously from the outlaws' times...

  • @corycramer1345
    @corycramer1345 9 років тому

    These horses are on public land. So why do ranchers think they have the right or the knowledge to say there are too many horses on the range? I say there are too many cows on the range. Everytime im out in the west desert thats all I see. If you cant afford to feed your stock. Get an education and move to the city. Your complaining robs "all" americans of their heritage. Live free wild horses. Long before we came and hopefully long after we are gone!

    Sad to think if the BLM gets its way these horses will be replaced with cows. Anything for money, eh America? These mustangs are suppose to be protected but I guess the government gets to break its own laws and that's fine but as soon as a person does it it's a crime. I'm terrified we are going to lose this part of the west and wild mustangs in America will be nothing but a fairy tale.

    • @Ravenfitch82
      @Ravenfitch82 7 років тому

      ScarsFromTomorrow The BLM is set up to make sure these animals have a healthy environment to live in. Population control is a must to keep them from destroying too much of the environment. Nobody is saying mustangs don't have a right to be here, that's why they are protected by law. I'm tired of people vilifying the BLM when they have the horses best interests in mind...

  • @leaerwood4945
    @leaerwood4945 10 років тому

    This is a good example why the herds need to be managed. Notice the small water hole and the 2 stallions fighting for the rights. One stallion causes more damage to the water hole, causing less water.

    • @benoakland8805

      This was part of the bait and trap. To draw them there, let them feel less and less wary. If you look just beyond the bait the foliage was typical of semi-arid. An area that evolve together with the Wild horses for thousands of years. As for the water. When a mustang does find a spring...usually just a muddy patch of dirt, they can dig at it to create a pond for water to settle and drink. So causing more water.

    • @nobody1575
      @nobody1575 6 років тому

      @@benoakland8805 horses are not native to america so saying they "evolved with over thousands of years" is false.

    ive seen them here in new mexico all my life ...what they do the land...the condition of them healthwise...and if u want to leave them out on our wild lands u obviously were not "touched" in the right way in my opinion..they are every bit as destructive as feral hogs, but becasuse of romantic notions held by people who saw one once or twice or saw flika we now cant do whats right and get rid of them
