Thanks Colt ! I believe I passed !
Congrats!!!!!
Just got confirmation..I did pass! I recommend this video for CDL per-trip inspection.
Bro enjoyed the video 📹. I just received my CDL Permit, on to the next phase. Hope to see you down the road... Blessings
Congratulations!!!
Hi Colt, this is Sam from SAGE school. This video helped me pass my test. i told u i was gonna get pre trip right thanks to thid video
Congrats man I heard! You did good!
Is this something I should watch over and over before starting my schooling? Seeing what’s best for me to do to get a head start before starting my schooling
Yes because it gives you a better understanding in school. Always be prepared!
@@coltwhaley4127 thank you for responding. I appreciate it and am looking forward to my future
@@francoreyes2063 remember you control your future! You took the initiative at looking at this video already before school. Get excited about learning everything about the trucking industry. Any questions you have I’m always here!!!!
I'm really nervous about my test, I've watched a few videos, and I see people starting in cab first, but I also see it starting outside of the rig. does it matter where you start? thank you, and this video is amazing
In cab is after whatever card you pull. A - Front/under tractor and engine B - Door to back of tractor C - Trailer D - Everything Good luck
They will let you know
@@sneakerheadtm6837 thank you!!
How do you no it don't have a broke spring under the u bot?
U would see a big crack in the leaf spring
Nope you would not you would see a lol overlap to one side
You mean scissoring
Very detailed & presented in a simple enough manner for drivers to memorize~ Bravo! Thanks for your help 👏
Thank you
Thanks Colt your videos made me pass
Congrats man
Thanks for the video
Great video. That truck is rough though hahah
Thanks for making easy and accurate vocabulary in this pre trip inspection
Is it worth getting your CDL in manual...?
If u are going to a company with manual trucks then I would recommend getting a manual. Most of the industry is going towards auto but there are a couple companies that have manual trucks
Hi sir great vid started studying to get my permit this is all new to me so I’m like a sponge rn getting as much info as possible here from Oswego IL thanks again !
Stating my journey and studying today family looking to do something different thank you for information in on mode mad studying. Thank you sir from Oswego, IL
Very concise and efficient pre-trip inspection. Best I've seen on UA-cam. Thanks Colt.
Hello
Hi
👍
Gr8 video.. will also recommend.. when describing connections to the trl u missed 2 say.. glad hands are secure .. & .. glad hand rubber gaskets.. are proper & not cracked.. that can cause leakage of the trl connections.. thus unsafe.. thanku 4 gr8 video..
Thank you for this video!
You’re welcome! Glad to help!!
The best video on UA-cam
Thank you for the video. Also we must mention the amber color on the clearance and signal lights right?
You can yes
@@coltwhaley4127 I have my test tomorrow. When do I mention the front parts of the tractor? Is that part of the engine compartment?
Yes usually but ask the examiner
Greetings for the information, very nice explanation, thank you. 🇲🇦👍
Good video, I see your abs light on dash is on , would an examiner fail you for the light on?
No it goes away and comes back. Abs sensors are notorious for doing this
Ho - ly - shit... how the hell am i gonna pass this 😂😂😂 thank you for the video!
Keep studying my guy
Shit no the right to say it properly mounted and not damage smh everyone pre trip different and learn y'all in cab and breaks to
Thanks for the Great video.. I am studying the Course in a community college in NYC ..they used to do the test with a 3rd party tester but unfortunately this time will be done via the NYC DMV ..from your experience is it hard to pass from the 1st time with DMV examiners?? I am so worried 🤦♀️
It’s not hard to pass first time. Practice your back up and study pre trip. The last part of the test is your road test where u drive. Don’t hit a curb and you will be good
Subscribed it’s so helpful thanks
Happy to help
@@coltwhaley4127 I'm studying and watching videos and my exam is in two days. I'm a little nervous and English is my second language 😅 😬
I got students all the time that their language isn’t primary English. U got this
Thanks for this video! 2 weeks left in school! I am going to use your video to help me!
Good luck!
Thank you so much!
U driving how things going i just started my classes
Hey, the rear marker light on the drivers side was red, not amber. Is that because the abs light was next to it? I thought all clearance or marker lights were to be amber.
All front lights are orange (amber in color) all rear lights are red in color
Dude thx you so much. I just got fired cause during my pre trip i noticed the battery box mount was broken, was when i refused to drive. I let so much slide but the Mount was when i said i refused to drive.
I would refuse to drive anything that isn’t up to the standards of being safe. It’s your life and u should want to go home the same way u came in.. safe. Anyone that doesn’t think like that does not have any respect for u
Amber color, clear color And no nuts and bolts missing?
You can say that. Everyone has different verbage
OK, cool. I have my test on March 17 and we’ve just been told to look out for these verbiage or we will loose points. .
Use the verbage your school told you to use. I teach students in NY. Your instructors are going to know what the examiners want the best
Also good luck!
@@Lcwtex How did it go?
Thanks buddy for the info
You’re welcome
Glad it's not a 2 week video lol
Very clear. Thanks
Great video, only thing I would caution is to never get between the tractor and trailer landing gear to check if the lock jaws are locked around the king pin. Get a few feet behind the landing gear to verify the connection.
This isn't the case for every tractor but on the 2022 T680 I'm going to be taking my test on, the kingpin lock is almost not visible unless you get between the tractor and landing gear, not sure if the instructors require you be all the way under the trailer like I have to be or not, that would be a crummy way to get failed 😂 gonna be taking mine in a couple weeks
Thank you for a great video! All these others on UA-cam are an hour long because the guy babbles on and on. You get right to the point, and treat the viewer like they've seen a truck before. Great work. Very much appreciated!
Thank you i appreciate your comment. If you need anything or have any questions at all don’t be afraid to ask
Your explanation of a pre-trip is excellent! 👍
Thanks man appreciate it!
Great video! Do all trucks have a trailer hand brake? I’m doing my official CDL test tomorrow and I need to pass!
They should
Good luck! Let me know if u pass!
I failed! Is this the Oregon test or same as the Oregon test?
What did u fail on
I really appreciate this video man thanks !
No problem
Say you take this test in Ohio is this vocabulary accurate for the test?
This is the verbage for every state
you kiss the springs hangers
Lol wtf
Great video I love it. I’m taking notes and getting extra info on the pre trip. I’m currently studying to take the permit test do you have any pointers? And also are you currently in IL because I need to know everything for this state. If so would you mind giving me more help if your free thanks hear from you soon.
I’m currently in New York. For New York to get your permit you need to take 3 test, general knowledge, combination, and air brakes. A good website I recommend taking practice test are cdl-prep.com
@@coltwhaley4127 oh wow when I typed in IL pre trip your video popped up. Is each state different? Or do I just need to type in IL pre trip videos again? Because I heard some states are the same as far as naming things and some are different. Just trying to get an understanding. And yes I have the 3 practice quizzes for all 3 sections.
The pre trip is the same for each state but your truck may be a little different such as a fuel water separator on the other passenger side or the water pump could be on the other side as well. I have a Twitter @coltwhaley if u need any help with what parts look like in your truck you will take. Also February they are making it mandatory you go to a school to get your cdl which I highly recommend
Thank you for sharing
@@coltwhaley4127 Pre trip in Washington state is extreame compared to this.
why you miss the spring hangers
I did miss them you are right. All I called out was leaf springs, shackles, and u bolts
if someone miss something on it . is gonna a be problem
No u can still pass the pre trip with multiple stuff missed. You have to get the majority. They are not asking you to be perfect.
thanks for your help and your video help me to
