There is no comparison between a Korean clock vs a German, English, French, or even American clock. They are cheaply made. Luckily the springs are inside a barrel. Korean clocks where the springs arent in a barrel are somewhat dangerous.

you forgot to show your Lux clock. As far as your tall case clock this is the official information. And a granddaughter clock is anything shorter than a grandmother clock in the tall case style but at least 3' tall. Grandmother clocks are smaller than grandfather clocks, typically standing between 5 and 6 feet tall, while grandfather clocks are taller, typically over 6 feet. The size difference affects their overall design, as grandfather clocks often have more elaborate and detailed cases due to their larger size.

at what point do you know if your springs arent just old? I just cleaned and lubed my barrel springs. They turn like a dream now when winding. Before, they caught. Prior to this, I had this nearly 100 year old clock running...for about a week. Then nope. I recleaned the movement. Cautious use of oil. Adjusted the crutch. with only the crutch? it ran all night. 12 hrs. with the leader, it also ran well but not quiet in time. Pendulum? No go for more than about a minute. I"m a neophyte to be sure. Just got into this.

Wow that pendulum swing is really small

Most clock hands can be adjusted. All you have to do is take the minute hand off. Hold the round part that goes onto the stem with a pair of plyers and then put something in the hole of the hand that fits onto that arbor and slightly turn it. Nice video.

I won't buy from them again. Their bulk scrap leather weights are mislabelled. The 8-12+ oz leather was all 15+ oz. Not at all what they publish, or what I needed, and they won't refund shipping for their mistake. *thumbs down*

I have the same clock. I bought it a couple years ago at an auction for $10. It has the dreaded Jauch movement in it that hardly anyone likes. I have the same catalog that came with it.

Do you have the movement for the clock?

Glad you showed the movement, was hoping to see it in the last video. Is that a piece of leather on the gong hammer? Is there a slot for the piece of leather, or is it wrapped around and glued on? That's what I was thinking of doing with my OG. It has a round disk shaped gong hammer too.
