This was not the joke that I was expecting. That's fine though... Three flutists were chatting after rehearsal. They all had boyfriends in the band. "My boyfriend plays the trumpet," said the first. "All that work on embouchure really paid off, since he is a great kisser!" "Well," replied the second girl. "My tubist boyfriend is an incredible kisser. Must be the larger mouthpiece." Then the last girl cuts in. "Well, my boyfriend is a french horn player. You might be right about mouthpiece size. His kisses are pretty average. But I do really like the way he holds me when we kiss."
I'm so glad to hear this
is there sheet music to this anywhere?
I'm impressed! Such a nice tone too!
A man from hinge sent me this link.
Great stuff!
The golden era or really great TV and very talented people! Love it!
Anybody feeling stupid for watching this?
Red Lehr shows through in Stan's playing. Cool tune, cool horn, cool guy!
Of course I listened to the entire piece
Hope all is well with you Stan. It’s Kevin from Anaheim. Caroles son
His son his one of the greatest and most recorded drummers in the world. Currently plays for Sting.
His main band is The Vandals, he's also played with GnR, NIN, Devo, and A Perfect Circle to name a few.
His stuff with the Vandals is top notch.
This is the updated version - still Stan Freese, but this time playing with his son's band. ua-cam.com/video/Ljhpjtt4lmo/v-deo.html
His son wasn't in the band at that point, he would join in 1989 on the album Fear of a punk planet.
Dan Snot - checking on the chronology - Stan played tuba on "I Know, Huh?" in 1998, with Josh on drums. "Original Country Tunes" is a compilation of tracks, mostly from "Slippery When Ill" 1988, but with the remake version of "Country Tuba" from 1998/99. ua-cam.com/video/gyXbysxdMn8/v-deo.html
@@domitype Yes, you're right. I forgot about that.
Calvin Speedy Wilburn Rick and Bubba!
What kind of helicon is this? It looks like something maybe the Wessex was modeled after...
That's a BBb and looks strongly like a small bore King I regularly play, but I think he had a shop change it to a detachable bell.
@@rotunda57 Now that I look at it, it looks like an old Conn actually - I saw a 4V version of it at a shop last week, with the long bell (like my own Keefer) that throws the sound at a diagonal rather than a short bell like the European helicons that throws it more to the side. In any case… amazing. :)
Very nice! Can you please add the date (or at least the year) this aired to the video description above?
Tubazzzzz
Stan! Fantastic man! I am glad to have found your channel. Great arrangement my friend and great playing!
Stan you sound great and look very handsome too 😀🎶👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Truly fantastic performance! It's great when it swings in the end. Well Done Stan! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😍😍😍🥳🥳🥳
Yeah Stan! Thank you for sharing this😁
This is so refreshing 📯
Incredible!
YEAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Stan!!!!!!
1:10 Cocked his 30/06? That's a rifle caliber, not a revolver bullet.
IKR
So what?
@@tubapizza It doesn't make sense.....
Sheet music? I need! Lol
The Vandals brought me here
Same
The people who dislike this video have obviously never kissed a tuba player before
This is beautiful!!
This reminds me of my Highschool days when we had a statewide Jazz band and they wanted me to play some Jazz Tuba. I did and they were amazed I was Professional Tuba at the time so they did not know what I could do. LOL Was great fun playing with a good Jazz Band. Tuba is FUN!!!
Love this, Stan! You have the gift!
That is absolutely brilliant! Make that ol' helicon TALK!
Muffucka that thumbs down on this. Who are you!?!?!?
Love it Stan the Man!
Absolutely incredible, especially that final variation! Most trumpet players can't even create that much contrast!
It would be great to have the sheet music for this.
It would be a dream to play this arrangement for the 135th anniversary of my community concert band. Is it available anywhere in Print?
Based on "When The Saints Go Marching In" with a bit of Orange Blossom Special thrown in at the end!
I have a funny story about being a tubist. I was a tuba player at Berklee College of Music. I had just come up from the soundproof practice rooms in the basement of my dorm, and the other guys on my floor were having a jam session in the common area. They asked me to play along, and I obliged. Shortly after, we had a visit from our RA. “What the fuck are you doing?” “Uhh...” “Do you think that’s okay? That’s not okay! That’s not even close to okay! That’s a fucking tuba!” Thankfully he thought it was musical.
Sounds like the RA needs to take a chill pill
I am a tubist and I approve of this message.
My girlfriend is the best kisser and a tuba player. Get yourself a tuba player.
I'm so glad my band teacher showed me this😂😂😂
Bravo!
That is a helluva helicon!
How many people have said hey it’s the Benny Hill song!
The Rick and Bubba Show says stay in it!
Stan Freese? Any relation to Josh?
He is Josh's dad.
@@dorseybisel5174 well how 'bout that! thanks for the reply
Josh is now playing with Foo Fighters 2023. This family has 3 generations in the music business. Stan’s father Hal was our band director in our community. I couldn’t read any musical notes & wanted to quit. Hal wrote down the positions for the trombone. It was 3 books worth of material that wrote & published. Stan’s father was a incredible man.
