Happy Swine Guard Pigs
Переглядів 4607 років тому
You can imagine my surprise when driving down the street today we came upon this house with pigs in the front yard. Were they guard pigs or there to keep the grass cut or both? These pigs were not there yesterday and I wonder how long they will remain. Seeing these two happy lady swine certainly brought back a fun memory from our time living in Bamberg, Germany. Bob and went into a restaurant o...

I visited this incredible mineral store and jewelry shop in Bamberg, Germany in 2010. It is the most amazing place to see if you are interested in purchasing a variety of stones, minerals, precious gems, rocks, and even custom jewelry. The owner was so kind and gracious and gave me a great tour of his amazing shop. Here's more info on the place: Goldschmeide-Meister-Werkstatt Schmuckboutique Ch...

This outstanding Italian restaurant serves all its own freshly grown produce. It is the only place to eat in Cumming GA where the food is served from the garden to the table. They even give away some of their produce to customers. We went home with two bags of tomatoes from their garden. Excellent food Superior Service = Happy Customers. One meal there is the experience of a lifetime. Enjoy!

This lovely museum is located in Marion, SC in what used to be the Marion Academy building built in 1886 . It was the first public school built in Marion County and is now the museum of Marion County. It has a wide variety of artifacts, many of which depict a rural way of life in this area from days gone by. There is a beautiful diorama of a rural village, and a classroom set up just like the o...

Love how humble and cool she is
Thanks for sharing your experience there. I used to frequent that pub when I lived there, was really nice to see it again
Incredible. 2000 years of history just chilling right there!! I saw an overhead shot of it a few minutes ago in an Inside Edition video about a giant jellyfish invasion in Trieste. Fascinating
Praying for Moma Jo!
Im from Boston. Back in 2000, my cousin and I were living in Mullins for a few months because we were doing construction work there. We ate at that place and it was amazing. Also we stayed at a bed & breakfast called Webster Manor. Ken & Anne were the owners. I wonder if they are still alive???
Very Nice! I am surprised I didn't see this sooner! thank you for sharing this!
You're welcome. Greatly appreciate your comment. Thanks 😊
The first video that I’ve seen about how to buy tickets on the bus, it’s very useful. You said “ein mal pass, bite”...isn’t it?
He said "Ein Mal Erwachsener, bitte". This means one ticket for an adult. But you can of course talk English with the bus driver, they will help you with finding the best ticket.
Patricia has no idea what it does or how it works. She just repeats what she is told. Ed used that stone to help him build the rest of the castle.
MENU 40 Mullins city councilwoman accused of wrongly demolishing home by Tonya Brown Thursday, November 5th 2015 Tonya Brown / The empty lot in Mullins where a historic home once stood. WPDE_TeasleyHouse_11.5.15.JPGWPDE_TeasleyHouse_2_11.5.15.JPG VIEW PHOTO GALLERY 3 photos AA The Palmetto Trust for Historic Preservation in Columbia says Mullins City Councilwoman Jo Sanders wrongly tore down a historic home on Wine Street in Mullins. Sanders owned the Teasley home and had it demolished about two weeks ago, according to Mullins City Administrator David Hudspeth. The home was built in 1860 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Sanders tells ABC 15 News the house was in horrible condition, and she spent more than $25,000 to restore it. She also said it was infested with fleas that made her sick. Sanders said she's a cancer survivor and didn't want to take any chances with her health. She believes her only option was to tear down the house. "I had to, I had to. It come to the point that I had no choice. I did what I thought was right at the time. I mean, tell them if they had cancer twice, I'm talking non-hodgkins lymphoma and in stage five," said Sanders. The Palmetto Trust for Historic Preservation's Executive Director Mike Bedenbaugh said there was an preservation easement on the property, that essentially protected it from demolition. "We protect historic structures through an easement system, where property owners voluntarily donate an easement to the Palmetto Trust. And that easement provides a protective umbrella over the property. This is usually people who have invested a lot in restoration and don't want to see their property lost to other generations. Or either family members who have a beloved family home, and they would like to see it protected in perpetuity. No matter who owns it, and so that was the case with this property," explained Bedenbaugh. Sanders said there was no easement on the property. She's looking for her deed to prove it. "They said there was an easement on the house. There is no easement on my deed. We went and got a copy of it," said Sanders. Bedenbaugh said his organization is consulting with legal counselor to determine their rights and what can be done to remedy the situation. Mullins City Manager David Hudspeth said Sanders got city crews to tear down her house without permission. He said while the city has a program to demolish dilapidated and rundown properties, there is a certain procedure that must be followed. Hudsepth said Sanders didn't follow that procedure. "Because of the long standing relationship she has with some of our employees, she just asked that they demolish the property. And they did that without filing all the paperwork, " said Hudspeth. ABC 15 News asked Sanders why she didn't follow procedure. Sanders explained, "Truthfully, I was so upset from all these flea bites. I had sores from my heels all the way up to my knees. And I just, didn't think about going through the city. All I could think about was getting them fleas out of here." Sanders said she plans to grow a garden in the space where the Teasley house once stood. Very helpful. I do have a question, if you have a day ticket to you have to validate the ticket each time you get on or just show it to the driver?
Thank you so much, Buck, for your question. As I made this 3-part video series in 2010, I am not sure if the rules have changed. It used to be you walked to the back of the bus and used the machine to validate the ticket each time, but you can ask at the station. What is so awesome is you can use the ticket to go to a concert in Nurenburg round trip. I think we covered that in the second video. If you watch the first and second videos the man Bob interviewed with the bus company explained alot about this. The reason I put this into 3 videos was because at the time I could only have 10 minute videos on UA-cam. But they changed that. Also, I had so much material to cover, as it is really a lot to learn about, is why I thought breaking it down into the three would be helpful. I hope you find the videos informative and helpful during your stay in Bamberg. It's a magnificent town.
the WWII veteran that was standing to the left was Vincent Speranza. if your not familiar with him i beg you to look up some of his speeches and interviews on youtube. Hes an Amercan Treasure
Thank you so much for letting me know. I will look him up.
I was just at the real ok corral three weeks ago. This looks like a set because the real one didn't look like this. I do know they re-act it two times a day, but I was too late for the second show.
Thanks for your comment, bigguedo. You're right, it is a set. They actually have a mock-up of the real one there as well with the characters frozen in position in the exact location of the original corral. Perhaps you saw that one as well. Hope you enjoyed your time in Tombstone. We always did.
I had a great time there and was happy I made it to a place like tumbstone where there is a lot of history. I even ate at the steakhouse and had a beer.. People of tumbstone, thanks for having me.
you guys do realize that Hitler to the Jews was like the U.S. is to Islam replace Jews with the words Terrorist and replace Hitler with U.S. government, and we have history repeating itself with different people, but the same objective to kill a religious group they hate. If you all really knew what the U.S. actually does in there war against Terror you would see them as "evil" as well. War is War and depending on the side your on you have complete opposites on what is considered right and wrong hence why the war happens because of the difference in opinion on how a culture or society should be run, the victor of the war then enforces there point of view. You believe what is right and wrong because someone told you in other words, there is not right and wrong there is only leaders idols or higher powers that tell you what they think is right and wrong. We are all just Pones on a giant chess board. The game that has been played using human lives for 1000s of years.
+Puppernaut America kills its own people and blames all Muslims and millions of innocent people get killed, how is America no different from the Nazi's? Instead of Jews it's Muslims, you can be blinded and stick you fingers in your ears and run round and say "la la la la" all you like, but the U.S. Government are doing the same things as the Nazis did they are torturing and killing people. What the government wants you to believe is exactly what you are thinking, in reality they don't care about your morals or anyone else's.
Very informative video. Thank you so much.
+FrauProf You're very welcome and thank you for your comment. Glad to know you enjoyed it. Did you see parts 2 and 3? I never would have thought it would take 3 videos to get in all the information! All the best, Pat
lol this was awesome

Cool get together with all the native peoples but the political correctness with taking a picture that the coordinator (Carrie Lopez) talks about is a bit on the heavy side. Most of these participants know that they are going to be photographed and expect it. By-the-way, (9:18) "Pow-Wow" is an Algonquian word from the Eastern part of the United States, Just a bit of FYI there, Ms. Lopez. P.S. Nice vid, Pat and Bob. Keep up the good work.
ZootSuitWolf Hi Zoot, thanks for the comment and the info about the history of the term pow-wow. It's wonderful to know you enjoyed the video. It's been such a lot of fun traveling over the years and sharing our memories through video and writing about it on our website. We started this so our kids could keep track of us and share in our experiences. Nice to know other people enjoy it as well. All the best, Pat and Bob hereandtherewithpatandbob.com
You're welcome, Enzo. We greatly appreciate your comment. It was fun to make and if you watched all three videos, you know there is a lot to learn about their bus system. I think the part that was most fascinating to me was if you are going to a concert in Nuremberg, you simply show the conductor your ticket and you can ride for free on the bus the entire way round trip.
very very useful thank you very much!
Hey Grandpa - stop giggling like a teenage girl. It's not a comedy, you idiot.
It IS a comedy in regard to comparing it to how the actual event occurred .
Just like the movie

That scene in the movie IS that accurate. It's word for word testimony from eyewitnesses.
I visited Tombstone Jan. 2013. I would like to come back and stay for a long while. It's a great place, full of history and great people.
USA love it or leave it, if you do not want total freedom of speech than you are free to leave
WHO PLAYED TOM MCLAURY OKEASE ANSWER?(:
yeah,we live in 3.5 hr's from rocky point,we find San Diego more cost effective.
I was there a few weeks ago, loved the town and towns people. Really liked "Big-nosed Kate"!
Hi Peter, greetings from close to Munich. Love what you are doing, Jo seems such an interesting person. Hope I can visit some day. I have been to the Dine` and tombstone in the late 70's. Since I lived in Canada (Calgary) for 10 years(and being german) studying native culture is my hobby. Wishing you all the best for your project, Monika
Who was playing Wyatt
Tourists shouldn't put info in their video that they know nothing about. The condos are completed, rented and owned.. When you said the shacks were where the people live, those are construction shacks where material is stored for building construction.
I love love love Rocky Point but not the main shopping area. It's just really depressing and sales-pressing. I am not a person who deals well with rejection when someone wants to sell me something. Best parts are Wreaked at the Reef, the dirt mall, JJs and the hiking area next to the gulf
Love this town and the history! Great video. Thank you for posting it.
if you want to retire...this is the place. 299k house , annual taxes 300 per year.
we are going to retire there...waiting for the drop to finish...beach front homes on Eastern Beachers 299,000 beach front and the shrimp is great so is the fish.
You are so right! I was told by my German friend the English translation which is why I put it up that way. I cannot change the video but have changed the info on this page. Thanks so much for letting me know.
It's "Symphony of A Thousand" not "Symphony of The Thousand"
It was expensive, $100 a night! We stayed 3 nights. The trip was a Mother's day gift from my daughter. Food was poor quality and pricey wherever we went. Nothing there was cheap. People think going to Mexico on vacation will save them money. Not true! We could have had a better time for a lot less money in the USA.
Hope you enjoyed the video.
Ah. I didn't realize this was a reenactment of Tombstone in Tombstone :P
They have been doing this for a very long time and are meticulous about their research. I suspect the Tombstone movie actors and members of their production company saw one of these performances before they filmed Tombstone. The movie runs continuously at different venues in town. Tombstone is a living museum and the people there are very careful to accurately present the towns history. It's a great place to visit.
This looks just like Tombstone the movie. Is the movie that accurate or are they just copying the movie with no research?
We were there in the summer of 2010.
@fitnessfortruth good question!
love it guys, you did much better than we did this year
@LibertaerUeberAlles This whole freedom of speech is starting to get out of hand. If you want to voice your opinion, then fine go ahead, but once it becomes hate speech I say none of that! People keep acting like they have every right to say whatever they want. There are limits for everything, and hate speech is crossing the boundaries of free speech. This has nothing to do with "Zionists", this has to do with human rights...nobody should be alienated or attacked (which Nazis do to people).
Thanks for letting us know about how the theater was uncovered. Your English is far better than my Italian!
das lied ist von take that aber auch egal.... Hahhahahaaaahahahahaaa....
