Classic Fill with Jules Radino of Blue Oyster Cult
Hello, I see your in New York. Where in New York? I'm in search for a drum teacher. I live in Newark, New Jersey. I visit NYC often.
🎄🎁🎅🕯️🌌🌟🤘
Nice!
Blue Oyster Cult 💙💙💙
Great lesson Jules. Love your work with BOC…
this was a great lesson. I NEED THE ONE ON using 32nds and how to plug them in once you can do these at like 200+bpm!
I would’ve definitely guessed this guys name is Julian. Possibly would’ve guessed Alexander though
Dude yout the best pal !!!!
Thanks Jules. Amazing! And put so well in layman’s terms. 🙏
🥁👍
I saw you nearly 15 years ago and being a metalhead I remember being surprised at how much double kick was in B.O.C. because I thought they’d be pretty much a standard classic rock. I was like “whoa, they have a metal drummer!”.
I was watching some longer videos before stumbling on this and had the speed set at 1.25. Yikes!
haha
Great lesson Thanks
Glad you liked it!
💪
Wonderful! Seriously made me understand!!!!! I was born in 1972, and its 5/20/2021, finally getting serious on the drums. haha In my defense, I am a guitar/bass player for life.
Hey I'm a 19 year old enthusiast making a 80s post punk band wanna join as a guitarist? I also play bass lol (yep in kinda desperate because we are just two people xd me and the drummer)
drums >> bass >>>>>> guitar
Sick!
relax & evil
That speed looks like a forwarded VHS video

Keep killin' it, Jules! You've earned a new Subscriber! ⛧🤘
love those socks
Haha.. Is that a Yoyoka reference?
That's interesting because I do the same thing. On a fast shuffle like Buck's Boogie I lead with my left foot. Joe Franco always leads with his right and I thought I was just weird.
I was one of the first drummers to use a double pedal, the Zalmar twin that I got in 1973. Bucks Boogie was the first song I used it on. Before that I had 2 bass drums but I found I couldn't get my feet in the right place to feel comfortable. Other BOC shuffles, Divine Wind, Harvester of Eyes, Vera Gemini, Sally, and Maseratti GT. Stairway To The Stars and Moon Crazy toggle between straight and shuffle.
Fantastic ! Thanks for sharing.
Hey Jules, thanks for the video! Out of curiosity where can I find the PDF mentioned?
send me your email and I'll get it to you!
ua-cam.com/video/-8tcjzEVogQ/v-deo.html Jules, this is farely long, but we have a question for you within it if you have time.
I tried to do the Moeller method, but accidentally knocked out a tooth. Mine's called the molar method.
can't wait for BOC's new album!
That was great! I'm not a drummer and that was way over my head, but I really appreciate that you shared this.
Thanks!
Cool. The paradiddle drill you did previously melted me and my son's brains.
Lol! Thank You!
hold up- your on UA-cam? why is this on my recommendation
Hi Jules which bass drum pedal do you recommend me?
Hi Larry! I would recommend the Dixon Pedal..playdixon.com
Thanks man. Learned alot from this video.
Thank You!
Was this from the Rock Legends Cruise a couple years ago?
yes
It sure looks like it to me, awesome weekend on that boat!
Working the lightning rods!
yeeeahh! good one :D
Awesome job Julius! You Rocked it buddy! Neil Peart would be very proud of you! Great job!
How awesome, , he is so very talented and has excellent taste in music!
He's got the genes for sure.
Just saw the first 10 seconds and wow I have to subscribe lol !!!
Man, I can get to the paradiddle and it's like hitting a brick wall. I just fall right off the beat. I've tried starting with the paradiddle, starting with the beat, starting at the same time... I'll keep trying. Thanks for the lesson!
Thanks
Daaaamn!!
So wait...if sixes is 1,2,3,4 hands > 1,2 feet then what do you call 1,2,3 hands > 1,2,3 feet? I thought the latter was called "sixes"?
Depends what notes you play them in. Either 1/4 note triplets, which work evenly,6 notes in a 4 count,or if you play them as 8 notes they would come around on #24 which is 1 and a half bars of 8th notes. Lots of possibilities, and those open up the door to 'time shifting' and even odd time signatures. Danny Carey does that a lot. Hope that helped a little!
Jules, you explain expertly, you execute perfectly, and there is no excess slop and garb all over. Your vids, and their content is always on point. Nice job brother, nice job. I am a fan of your work before the video lessons, so this is even nicer for me to see what a good dude you seem to be. Thanks for your help. Regards, from Canada.
Sounds just like the beginning of Still YDG’N by Of Mice & Men
hes gonna be a monster drummer!
Nice
Cool!
The double bass at the end was awesome.
Great way to imply parradiddles to the set this way
