Welcome! My name is Kaleb and this channel is dedicated to showing you how I make inexpensive miniatures for games, like D&D, pathfinder, wargaming, or other tabletop RPG‘s. I use card stock, paper, recyclables like drink carriers and cardboard, backer rod and other low budget household materials and products. This is my DIY on making dynamic and colorful creatures, terrain and characters at a fraction of the cost and no 3D printing required. My hope is that anyone and all ages can get into this hobby and have fun. If you are RPing on a budget, like me, or just wanting to give the crafting hobby a shot, then this channel is for you!

Dogs, Cats and Rodents. Paper Miniature Tutorial
I think I could use this technique to make great water elementals for wargaming. That would save a lot of money.
Thank you. This was very creative and informative. Im hoping the idea I have will work using what I've learned here.
Nice details!
gap filler foam works great for oozes. spray and cut it to the shape you want, paint and done.
Gorgeous! I hadn't seen the idea for a gelatinous cube before!
Loved this man, I am DM'ing a campaign for my kids and they just fought a great looking Ochre Jelly. Thank you for sharing the techniques!
@@justincasebro1567 Thanks! Glad to see crafts and games bringing families together! ❤️
Outstanding, I'd thought about doing the cube so it's nice to see that it works
I tried this technic to make a mini for my plasmoid character and is pseudopod. Turned out great!
Nailed it. The texture of the foam rods even looks kind of scaly.
Thank you!! This did so well on the table top!
Very cool. I love your paper minis!
Help Vindaga Games, i am Brazilian and i need of yours videos for my rollerplay
este video me gusta mucho, ya comencé a hacer mis propios dragones de esta forma
Hi Kaleb. Folding makes the minis much more dynamic and lively, thank you for your ideas! As a fresh comer into this subject, I have a few ideas if you could try it out: - Harden the paper: soak the minis in a hardening solution (equal parts of white glue and water). The minis will be less wobbly, repeat the process if you want it harder. - Coloring the edge: this idea came from JP Coovert, gives you much more professional looks. - A larger scale: you have more room to experiment more details, see what works so you can further improve the small size one. - Add diorama: idea came from Eevee Maria, mainly for showcase. You draw a scence on paper, fold it in third and place behind as a contextual enviroment of the minis
Thanks for the feedback and ideas! It’s always great to hear about expanding these projects. I’ve thought about and seen some of these ideas and definitely think they would be worthwhile to implement. Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely, I use 0.1 pens and watercolour pencils to upgrade components I really like and this is a great extension of that into figures. Cheers.
Just discovered your channel, subscribed and now i am watching the other videos... I would love to see your collection, never seen such kind of miniatures... Really original and unique style. ❤
I love your 3D approach to making minis, but in my last session, I needed over 30 new minis, including a dozen priests, eight initiates, and multiple monsters. So I go for the 2D approach, printing out the characters and hot-gluing them to a cardboard base. If I had more time (and wasn't running "Princes of the Apocolypse") I would totally use this method, the results are so good!
i really like miniature modeling and kitbashing and stuff so i'll probably never stop using/and buying regular minis, but this is a great idea nevertheless! and i'll probably do this for some games, seems like something that could be fun to do with the players of my shorter campaigns and one shots
Ah yes, kitbashing… I think it’s the one exception to my mini collection. But usually it’s dollar store stuff or random discarded pieces. I definitely don’t do it very often, but it is also a fun and awesome craft 😊 So maybe I need a new title? 🤔 lol 😆 Glad you enjoyed the video!
Yes, yes, yes. I wish more people enjoyed in the hobby the way we do. It’s so much more meaningful and creative. Thanks for sharing!
What stock do you recommend stenciling on? With the markers, it would have to be something rather thick, or maybe double-ply. I'd be interested to see some other ideas you have for various creatures in this sort of motif. Perhaps Beholders would be fun, or if you're feeling ambitious, something larger like a dragon. I'd bet there'd be fun opportunities to put that well-polished origami skill to use!
The card stock I use for the minis is usually between 60-120. It’s not too thick, and some heavier markers might bleed through, like Sharpie. Cheaper, washable markers work best, and Faber Castelle for detailing or other fine tip and brush pens. Also check out my dragon tutorial. I’ve employed some other methods there, but definitely have a beholder on the horizon for one of my projects 😊
Keep going
Keep going
This is a really cool
A clear case of "We have a 3D printer at home". Simple, but efficient, many thanks!
Awesome video!!
Looks good 😊
Really nice job, as always!!!
Great video, I'll try to do it like this too
Post more videos please, I really like your videos making minis for Dungeons and Dragons, I met your channel yesterday
Thanks for watching! I have a few projects in the pipeline, but I try to upload when I can. Definitely much overdue for my next one though for sure. Stay tuned, I have another project in the works. Happy crafting!
You've inspired me to take the techniques here and apply it to my son's idea for a plasmoid monk miniature!
Honestly they are awesome! Just a question, do you use normal paper sheets or do you use some sort of cardboardy paper? It feels to me like paper might be a little too fragile(?)
I use card stock primarily, a heavier weight does better, but they are easy enough to get at office supply stores.
I enjoyed this
That looks pretty good, i almost say better than wizkids
I used tin foil for my skeletons and black glue from the discount store. Then i put excess on so it would ooze down
Surprised how extremely well it turned out. Love that the paper wings worked so well.
Awesome kraken!
Love it .. I wonder if I can do similar with tin foil
Way easier execution for the gelatinous cube than I was going to attempt. Bravo!
Very cool
very good ! it gives you lots of ideas. go a little Beholder for the rest 😊
Cool 💯💯👍👍
Really creative idea with great results.
Very cool! I'll definitely have to try this soon.
Nice to see a project that doesn't require $1,000 of kit!

Looks great! I would love to see a tour of your game room. Looking for ideas and inspiration for my own.
